Maybe that’s because as of that date everyone does have to wear a mask. Maybe they will update again on March 1st?

They posted on Feb 18th that there’d be no masks required beginning March 1.  Then 4 days later they updated that to masks are required. So the current rules are masks are required. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?  I think it shows that anyone getting on a Princess ship needs to accept whatever rules are in place each day. The rules have changed at times mid cruise since the restart.

I’m going to guess… The theater and other areas with shows, casino, Princess live, and dining room.  Maybe it just means that they are back to allowing cruisers to walk around without a mask?

There were plenty wandering maskless on Sky in November.  The one time we were in the theater it was packed and around half that I could see were maskless.  Never saw anyone challenged.

Sort of depends on where you look.  The CDC Update, CruiseHealth and On Board Experience all have different wording.  Check back March 1.  😀

Did they have the mask mandate in November? On the second day of our December cruise we received a letter telling us that we had to wear a mask at all times beginning that day. On the first day there were people walking around without masks.

I’m not saying that I like wearing them but I have double masked since the beginning of the pandemic.  I double masked when double masking wasn’t cool, lol.    I hope that mask rules stay in place but if not I will just continue to be careful.

Those walking around maskless might catch the virus on shore and be infectious to other passengers (especially those not wearing masks) before the end of the cruise.

Very true.

There are many people cruising today that should give a second though about any travel until the virus calms down.

I don't spend any time in casino, but 2 weeks ago,  casino was DEAD

IF ship wants a profit center, they will allow gamblers to gamble.

We were on the CB in early January. There was a mask mandate (strictly enforced everywhere) and no smoking in the casino or Churchhills.

The casino was PACKED every night!

They did.  Our cruise started November 27.  I'll never forget having to get tested Thanksgiving Day.

From today’s webinar.  Princess Website will be updated March 1 for no mask, 3 days for PCR and 2 days for rapid needed for negative Covid test before cruise and children under 5 yrs will be allowed.

And with doing this way, there should be no confusion.  I like the way you think!!

Wish they could have gone to 3 days for rapid.  Would have made things a lot easier.

Did they mention what venues masks might still be required in?

Well, we are on a March 5th sailing and just this morning I got an email that said masks are required in doors.   I don't know.

We got the same notice for our cruise 3/12 but that's got to be because that's the rule today......March 1 is no mask optional and we will be sticking to that new rule.  Yippee, no mask!

Cruises this weekend will be able to go with no mask.

Only posting on Princess March 1.

I'm thinking thru the "masks in certain areas" and wondering......

...is that there as a "catch all" in case they want to implement masks indoors again?

I'm trying to figure out how we leave our cabin without our mask and venture to another venue and then there is a sign that says "this area requires a mask" and my mask is back in my cabin....

(Again, thinking that's just a CYA notation, if needed but doubtful it will be needed)

What says the wise peeps on here?

We'll always have a mask with us.  Big ship.  Might be in one place not needing one then decide to go to a show or something that does.  Rather not have to go back to the cabin for one.
