I'm thinking thru the "masks in certain areas" and wondering......

...is that there as a "catch all" in case they want to implement masks indoors again?

I'm trying to figure out how we leave our cabin without our mask and venture to another venue and then there is a sign that says "this area requires a mask" and my mask is back in my cabin....

(Again, thinking that's just a CYA notation, if needed but doubtful it will be needed)

What says the wise peeps on here?

I'm by no means wise, but I think you make a great point.  It could very well be a means to CYA in case anything occurs (like a few sick people being discovered on board)...it helps them have flexibility.

Might be in one place not needing one then decide to go to a show or something that does.

That's why I'm thinking it is "masks optional" and they are saying "certain areas may require a mask" as a way to re-implement in case of rare situation and they can't say they did not tell us!  CYA.

I'm not sure how practical it is for different venues to pop up as "mask required".

I have not worn a mask since dis-embarking a cruise in December and I'm going to be in the "not wearing one and not carrying one around on the ship" group..........(But of course, if the rule changes back from optional to required, I will certainly comply because I would rather not walk the plank)

If the gamblers don't want to wear masks in the casino, they won't go to the casino"

EASY!!!

Then they are not real gamblers except with the spread of aerosol born disease!

I know people who refused to go to the casino to gamble because of the smoke who are now planning on gambling. I am pretty sure that the number of those people will make up for the whiny people who do not want to wear face coverings.

@brisaltaI've been waiting decades to make use of my "Yale" new math.  It was one of the first attempts at redefining the way math was taught (a very long time ago).  Since then, I "became" a math teacher and stuck by my "old math ways" with a sprinkle of new here and there.  That was one lesson that stuck in my brain for all of these years.  Thank you.

Revision 1.1:

A person who wears a mask does not gamble.

Therefore, ALL  person who do not wear a mask gamble.

As I just posted on the testing thread: I just logged into our cruise personalizer and had to agree to the 2 day testing and masking requirements for our cruise on Monday:521775609_ScreenShot2022-02-25at11_24_04AM.thumb.png.e923689921fc41c480e5de87457a5d07.png

He said everything would  update on the website on Tuesday March 1

I hope all is getting better and that masks will be optional when we sail on March 5th.  But I'm still taking a bunch of them and expect to wear them in halls, elevators, and crowded areas anyway.  I knew that masks were required when I booked the cruise so masking is not a no go for me.  If it was, I wouldn't have booked a cruise.

DH is on the Ruby Princess on a cruise that started 2/25 and they seemed to pre-condition the dropping of the mask mandate on the results of today’s COVID test, but whether they mean it will be able to be dropped later today, or on March 1 I’m not sure.

Are they testing all of the passengers?

Or just the crew?
