Currently on the Edge in the Retreat and being told we do not have a drinks package?

I feel like I just almost finished a murder mystery to find the last few pages torn out!! Who dunnit???

I'd offer the tired old "The butler did it" since the OP is in a suite.  Somehow, "The Retreat Host did it" just doesn't roll of the tongue in the same way.  😄

Have you spoken to anyone at Celebrity at any time whatsoever?

No need to til this point. It was an online booking and the perks showed up immediately when I logged  in on the website. It’s the subsequent discussion here around the detail in PDFs which I’m now seeking clarification of. As far as I’m concerned though, we have a deal and Celebrity has always been good to work with so 👍

I’ll add my strange happening in this vein…..

I booked a suite thru Blue Chip many moons ago on Edge.    It specifically included all 4 perks.   We ended up doing a Lift and Shift to a sailing on Apex this coming April.    When the L&S was performed and I got my new booking statement, there were no perks included.    It took a call to Blue Chip club and some research on their part to add the perks back into the booking.     All good now but it took my being alert and some effort on their part to get it all right.

I had a price drop that was applied and the pre-paid gratuities came off.  I called Blue Chip and they corrected it.  They didn't know what happened.  There are multiple suites booked but it only happened to one.

That is why I check everything, all of the time.  😉

So you got commission.  How much do they make???  Is it reasonable?

I thought it was reasonable--

thats all that counts.

I also want to do business with them again and I want them to have an incentive to service my account if there is a problem. such as all the rebookings these last 2 years and I felt my prior TA did not

go to bat for me.

For the OP here, I wonder if he was nice enough when dealing with the folks on board. The folks have a lot of discretion, within supportable reason.

Agree, but for the most part, I think most mean well…even the sarcastic ones, which I can be at times.

I fall into the category, too.

Sometimes I re-read my posts (well after I can edit them) and think to myself..."should have been a little nicer".  But, somethings that aren't meant to be snide or accusatory, come off that way with just words on the screen.  The tone of voice or facial expressions can't be seen.

But, no excuses.  More times than not, when someone is coming across as snarky to me on these threads, I consider what I've seen from them in the past, ignore them and chalk them up to be sphincters. 😉

I bet the OP may have backed off being accusatory to Celebrity after conferring with his wife.  Or, as others mentioned, just bought the drinks a la carte/package and went on to enjoy the cruise.

Some come here to complain.  Some come here looking for information.  Some come here to share information.  And, some come here to see if we can gain some experiences that relate to what we have done, will do, or may do on a cruise in the future.

I will say overall, I've had way more positive experiences than negative ones over the last decade plus I've been here.  Plus, surprising to me, I've only had to put one person on "ignore" in that entire time.  Amazing.  LOL!

My friend told me a few years ago that I am the King of Sarcasm.  So the rest of you can get in line.  😂

I think everything has been said on this topic. I’m shutting off comments.

Haha. Just kidding. I don’t have that power.
Let’s bring this to 25 pages, kids.

Careful.  When I said that, I got a nasty gram. 😭

Mods, this is a joke, maybe.

I guess we have all deviated from the topic, but certainly there was no harm in our discourse.  People say things that make us think and we react in one way or another.  For some of us, it provided information to always, always check our hard copies.  I have been told many times that "oh, it must have fallen off' during the transfer from Celebrity to my TA; she has always fixed it for me.

Just to follow-up from my previous post. The supervisor listened to our recorded conversation when we booked directly with Celebrity’s sales department. He confirmed the agent told us we had the perks and so he added them back for us. For those that said we had access to retreat because we were in a suite, we did not (booking code the agent used). The supervisor also added that back in since the sales department failed to add it to our reservation. I learned quite a few lessons here and I’m very grateful for all the wonderful people here on cruise critic for the help.

Did you have access to Luminae?

Has anyone heard of such a thing? Similarly are there booking codes for Aquaclass where you don't have access to the thermal suite or Blu? (Not directed at the OP)

Lets get it from the horses mouth, so to speak

go to the Celebrity booking website and look at Reflection 4/18/22 transatlantic, which as of last night had  SkySuites at ~5,000 PP and Guaranteed Sky Suites at ~4000, the difference being the 4,000 booking does not include the OBC, Grats  internet  and Premium drinks--just the cabin and Luminae.

Grats are 224 PP, internet probably a minimim of 250 PP, OBC 400PP, and drink package 840 PP--(60 a night for 14 nights) , its probably a no brainer to take the regular Retreat--vs the guaranteed which also means no perks, since the Reflection does not have a retreat deck, no mention of that the private Michaels club either.

Pretty clear to me and my mind is becoming mush.

You're all set.   Retreat NRD line means you have the AI with the Indulge package.

The SAVE 9nplusNRD is the code for the current promotion where the price is inflated and then discounted with this WAVE promo to make it look like you got a deal at 18k!

Isn’t it better to have the detail though?  (Not in a suite myself.)

at 9k a person net, its not a sky suite is it? Unless its a 4 week cruise?

Are  bookings for other than sky suites different.

and NRD is just the price adjustment for non refundable deposit.

not sure whatthe 3080 line does,

but it seems like when several months ago they went and raised prices but then gave a discount a bit less than the raised amount. It was the 20 or 30% second person discount deal which could have been 50% also but net net it was more than it was the day before.

Lots of confusion created.

Have never, EVER heard of such a thing.  Even with some of the 'odder' ways of snagging a sky (or any other) suite (comp, casino, whatever), not once have we ever heard anyone say that the standard Retreat venues weren't being made available.

let's see if I can put this to bed,:

I looked at near term cruises-the ones advertised as up to 3,000 off on the lead X webpage-randomly picked a 12 nite Equinox cruise mid march, and came up with these price summaries:

Deal on a cabin selected:

image.png.bc0e21b72f78b4532d3059b33b241ad4.png

Deal on a guaranteed cabin but no perks:

notice the codes

image.png.00e7143f3015aac475a7d3bad8b7187a.png

you all be the judge, but most important to me is my future cruises are not discounted like this ...yet, however, loook at the price per day and for 1600 more for the cabin, you get the 800 OBC, the internet, drinks and grats paid. Its a crazy hi  price anyway, and this is on Equinox, which is nice but not nice like Apex.

Caveat Emptor, folks.

Exactly as I have seen on ALL of my booking confirmations.  It seems that the OP, unfortunately screwed up, either he does not want to come back to update, or he has a very angry wife.
