The gremlins wouldn't let me back into my post once it was entered, even a couple of minutes later, so I'm back with just a couple of things:

@Mr. Boston Happy Birthday to your DH, and have a wonderful cruise!

@kazu you're in it for the long haul, and so are we; we'll keep praying for the 3 of you as long as it's needed.   I'm usually up by 6, so I could bring donuts if I was closer!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily report.  I like today’s meal suggestion and @dfish pictures look great.  Today is supposed to be near 70 F yet on Friday we are to get about 8” of snow.  This month has been a roller coaster weather wise.
Now that I go into the office once a week Tucker sticks to me like glue the next day while I’m working at home.

Dog Biscuits.....Years ago one of my friends and I decided to try to eat one.  It was a matter of I will if you will.  They weren't bad, but we thought they were a bit dry, and needed more flavor.  Maybe a peanut butter dip on the side.  Biscuits have come a long way since then.

I used to have a neighbor who had a dog, and totally ignored it.  Threw food over the fence at meal time, and walked away.  Lovely black lab.  I bought him biscuits, and went over to give him some every day, along with water that they never changed.  Last summer their neglect had gotten out of hand, and the dog had tried to escape, cut his foot terribly.  I knocked on the door to let them know the dog was injured, but the only one home was the son (in his 20's)  he told me he didn't care,  and I called the cops.

The cops apparently cared, because by the time they showed up for a follow up visit the next day, and saw the father chaining the dog up, in a pen, still with out medical attention, the dog was missing by that afternoon.  They sold the house, and the brother in law bought it, and he's the one I am watching the house while they are in Vietnam.

The dog walking job, well she had no treats for her boxer, so I buy "puppy" treats every two weeks, and give her a few after our walks.

Today I am headed to the pharmacy to pick up my new meds, and to update my new insurance information with them.

Good morning, all!

@Crazy For Catsis right, this weather is a roller coaster! Yesterday it was 62 degrees F, I was wearing a light jacket & dodging some rain drops. This morning it’s 19, feels like 8, and we are having a snow squall that is just the precursor to the wintry mix heading our way. I hate, hate, hate that mix of ice covered with light snow. 😡

Nice combo of days. I remember traveling in Minnesota many years ago and seeing a sign for the local curling club and thinking “what??”  Not sure what I was picturing 😂. I have played tennis in the past-badly. Our Fritz was never fond of eating hard dog biscuits, but loved to hide them. Periodically I would remove the sofa cushions, retrieve all the hidden biscuits and start over. On our travels one time, the front desk of the hotel gave him a welcome “doggy bag” that had a dog biscuit. First thing he did in the hotel room was hide it in the chair; had to remember to retrieve it so a future guest didn’t get a surprise.

I love the quote, love the meal, the drink, the wine! Haven’t been to the destination though 🙁, pictures will be lovely.

It’s a long story, but I haven’t had my hair cut since November as my hairdresser has had gallbladder surgery, the flu and Covid and has just recently returned to work part-time and of course I was out of town several times. I have an appointment scheduled for …tomorrow. With the weather, I will not be driving my power chair over the ice, so I think my hair will have to wait.

Offering prayers for those on our care list 🙏 and raising a glass 🍷 in celebration. Loving to hear about the cruises!

Take care, all!

St Louis Sal

Good morning friends!  It's raining in Stone Mountain, Ann?  I just checked the radar and see a line of storms in Atlanta but not here further south yet.  Actually the sun is out.  Hope the rain doesn't last too long.  We've had enough of that lately (sorry we can't send you some Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser).  Well, we got up this morning and walked through the neighborhood.  Went 3 miles, and each time we walk outside we have a choice of which "pod" or group of homes we want to see.  Went a way today we hadn't in a while, and it was enjoyable.

Next thing I did was remove the bandage from my forehead and it was rather a shock.  A bigger cut than I thought it would be.  I just hope it heals well and doesn't leave a big scar.  I'll be getting out the Mederma to help it fade.  No photos will be posted here, never fear!😲

Thanks to Rich for the Daily, and to Roy for the Care and Celebration lists.  Prayers are offered for everyone in need.  No news on Jen since yesterday.  I hope she is resting comfortably and able to eat something by now.  Good wishes to my friend Joy @Seasick Sailorand Allen!  Cheers to all celebrating great news and cruises.  @Mr. Bostonhappy birthday to DH today and have a wonderful cruise.  Will you be waving at the webcam?  What ship?  The menu suggestion, recipes, and photos look very good.  My meatloaf is all beef and resembles photo 3.  We always enjoy the leftovers in sandwiches, too.  But Gerry @ger_77if you don't mind, I'd like to come for dinner tonight!  I'll wear my parka from Antarctica.

A salute to dog biscuits, tennis and the cool sport of curling.  Naples is a new port for the Daily, but I know it's a popular one.  We've been there 7 times according to my records and we've tried to take advantage of the many things to do there.  We've done Amalfi coast a couple of times, including Sorrento and Positano, Capri, Pompeii and Herculaneum.  We've also spent time in Naples itself. One photo of DH and myself taken along the Amalfi coast is framed in my family room but I don't know which cruise it was taken on.  I'd post it here if I could find it.  Thanks for photos already posted and for those that will come.  I will wait and let others post their favorite photos from Naples.

Good morning and thanks for the update.

It’s 60 degrees now but tomorrow is 1-3 inches of snow and then ice on Friday.

I was to Naples on the Koningsdam premier, did the trip to Capri, what a lovely place .
Blessings and prayers to all on our lists ❤️🙏❤️

Good morning all!

Interesting collection of days. Finally a port I’ve been to! I did military duty in Naples (at the airport) and had a great time. Aside from the huge amounts of rubbish everywhere, I thought Italy was a beautiful place.

The drink sounds delicious, as does the wine. I love meatloaf but DH won’t touch it 🙁. I was reading on a HAL group on Facebook that a couple will be taking their first cruise, but when they saw the menu they said there was literally nothing they would eat in the MDR. I’m glad DH is not THAT picky! Those folks had better stick to the Lido…

I decided to just start looking for that favorite photo by looking at all the photo books from the 7 cruises that took us to Naples.  It was the third time we'd stopped in Naples in November 2014., and our first Prinsendam cruise.  Actually it was a B2B, the first cruise being the Black Sea and the second the Holy Land.  We had switched to Holland America after our previously booked Ocean Princess cruise was cancelled by us.  We and our friends wanted to see Yalta and Sevastapol, Ukraine but Princess cancelled those ports in early 2014 and replaced them with Greek ports.  Holland America cancelled Ukraine too but they added ports in the Black Sea.  So we switched to a new to us cruise line and are glad we did.  Holland America always has more varied ports than Princess.

When the Prinsendam arrived in Naples, there was the Ocean Princess already docked there.  We would have been on that ship if we hadn't all jumped ship!00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVK0Ik0G-mfNidaseDsBYoLU?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416775274

I had set up a private tour of the Amalfi coast so we set out with our driver and had a wonderful day there.  Our driver actually took our picture for us and did a fine job.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJyxf_HP2e1MllDzIadvTUW?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416775397

I'm either standing in a hole or DH is standing on a rock - he is only 1 inch taller than me!😄

Good morning everyone! Thank you Rich for the Daily Report, Roy for the Cares and Celebration Report, and Debbie for the wonderful recipes everyday.  And thank you everyone for caring and sharing!

Sam managed to find a bag of doggy treats that his dog walker brought for him on Valentines. We left him alone for a few hours last week and came home to find the empty bag. Oh well! at least he didn't eat the plastic bag. I feel treats are  essential for the rescues we adopt. Our second Mal, Oke', had been kept outside on concrete and rescued from a kill shelter. His knees were finally healing five weeks later when we adopted him. He was blind in one eye and missing a few teeth. Obviously never given treats - but I made up for it. He was my "Good Buddy." Cancer unfortunately took him just short of having him three years

Like @MISTER 67, we have been to the Naples port but did an excursion to Pompeii and Sorrento. Hopefully our cruise in October will still sail and we can visit the City of Naples proper this time. I will say that since then I have been intrigued by the Stazione maritima di Napoli and its history.

Stay safe!

- Jack

Oke' (Oh-kee) which is Coptic for "sesame." The rescue organization used themes for naming their rescues. The theme then was Spices. His foster mom decided on his name and we just kept it.

My birthday has started cold. It got down to three degrees from about one am and is now up to 5 degrees F. There was ice on the inside of the windows. Hopefully this is the coldest day and temperatures will continue to spiral into spring.  Prayers for those who need them and cheers for all my wonderful Dailyite family. I do appreciate all the time each of you put in daily to tell us where the ships are, what to eat and drink and who is in need of prayer.

@rafinmdwhen you get back from the cruise, I am thinking you should take us off the prayer list.  It doesn’t seem right that I stay on it for so long monopolizing it when there is so little chance of things improving. I’m in my own personal Hell and that’s the way it’s going to be for a while and not much I can do about it.  I have no problem going on the rotation list it you like.

Even if Roy took you off the prayer list, it wouldn't change anything.  You are still in my prayers.

Stay strong. 🙏

Good Morning, Dailyites!   Thanks to @richwmn, @rafinmd (hope you are enjoying your cruise), @dfish, @summer slope, and @cat shepard, and ALL who contribute here.  Cheers 🥂 to those celebrating and healing thoughts and hugs 🤗 to those on the care list.

Been trying to catch up since we were cruising last week, but today I just gave up and will start fresh. I have emptied the bags, done the laundry and am now re-packing for our Nieuw Statendam cruise that leaves 3/6 for 10 days.

We have been to Naples 6 times on 3 different cruise lines.

First time was on 11/29/09, =X= Solstice, where we did a ship tour to Pompeii and also a boat ride down the Amalfi Coast with a visit to Amalfi.

On 11/20/11, =X= Solstice called in Naples.  This time we struck out on our own and visited the Museo Archeologico then found Pizzeria Lombardi on the way back to the ship for some authentic Neopolitan pizza (there were 4 of us).

4/4/15 - Island Princess - we once again had to find pizza.  This time we went to DaMichele which is where Julia Roberts ate in Eat, Pray, Love.  Thank goodness we beat the crowds!

Naples, continued.  Warning, more food porn!

12/3/17 - Pacific Princess leg one of a B2B.  This time we had heard of a restaurant called Tandem whose specialty is ragu and it's like nothing we have ever had before!  (Note the tandem bicycle.)

DH had it the way they recommend - bowl with crusty bread

I had to have mine over pasta

12/6/17 - Pacific Princess leg 2 of the B2B.  This time we just "had" to have more pizza.  We went across the street from DaMichele to Trianon and honestly felt the pizza was better than either of the first two we had in Naples.

Last visit was 11/1/19 on the Rotterdam VI.  As I said, we really liked Trianon 😃
