Thanks for your insight! I have to wonder if people abusing the system are what led some to be denied?
Rare BlerkOne Posted June 10, 2022 #153 Share Posted June 10, 2022 7 Carnival cruises since the restart, never paid full price, and never an issue getting shareholder OBC. Just applied for and received approval for the 8th Carnival cruise OBC. Also applied for a Princess cruise at the same time. May need to goose them. pkster Posted June 10, 2022 #154 Share Posted June 10, 2022 I'm a little more than a week out from my sailing, and hadn't heard back yet on my shareholder OBC request sent via e-mail back in May. As recommended earlier in this thread, I just called Guest Admin at 800-438-6744 x 70450. I was only on hold a minute or two. I provided the rep my name, booking number, ship, sailing date, names of the other passengers on the reservation, and the incident number provided in the auto-generated e-mail I received from Carnival when I sent my request. With that information, she was able to pull up the documentation I had provided in the e-mail and add the OBC on the spot.

I think it is more remarkable that you were only on hold a minute or two than she was able to add the OBC on the spot.

Depends on if you stay in separate rooms. Sometimes I would book a balcony and an inside if there was no single supplement. It was cheaper than booking both of us in the balcony. Doesn't make it right and perhaps contributed to the demise of no single supplement.

It does not need to be 200 shares. 100 shares in the joint account is sufficient. (Though I would not send in the requests together. LOL).

pe4all Posted June 21, 2022 #164 Share Posted June 21, 2022 Sent in request 5/2 for January cruise. Received email 4 am this morning - denied for 2nd time. Same Casino rate which was approved for my cruise next week. Both originally submitted same time. Will try again closer to January cruise. In accordance with the terms of the shareholder onboard credit benefit, reservations with a reduced rate promotion do not qualify for the onboard credit. While it may have been inadvertently accepted in the past, we are now adhering to the conditions of the shareholder program. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused and trust, that as a Carnival investor, you will understand our position in this matter.Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you on board! Regards, Shermane "

Say a bonus at 1,000, and another at 2,500... 🙂 Since one can essentially snag an easy $50/100 for most sailings, the current "investment" of $1,500 returns a VERY generous payout ! Tom Silly question but why $50/$100. I always thought it was $100. Is the difference for shorter cruises?

Is the difference for shorter cruises? Yes, shorter sailings (I think 6 nights and under) earn a $50 OBC rather than the $100. At 14+ days, it goes up to $250 - but there are not many 14 night cruises offered. Tom

jazzydiver Posted June 21, 2022 #169 Share Posted June 21, 2022 Hello tree.critter, I am considering buying stock, and I have a b2b booked in November. When you made the onboard credit request, did you specifically mention being on a back-to-back? Or was it just a pleasant surprise to get the $150 the second week? I just want to make sure I request the OBC in the correct way. Had thought about sending a separate email for each booking number, but maybe I should send one email and specify the booking numbers are back-to-back - is that what you did? Thank you! charliesdad63 Posted June 22, 2022 #170 Share Posted June 22, 2022 On the Freedom last weekend. Had to go to guest services MULTIPLE times. First denied because I'm a travel agent. I explained I paid retail for this cruise and she sent another email. Second time, they wanted all of the documentation that I already supplied in May (and THREE recent months of statements). Third time, I checked and corporate had not yet responded. Left yesterday morning without the OBC applied. I received a denial of a different cruise (booked with a TA discount) and responded immediately with a question about the Freedom lack of response and was told it was applied. So, how do I find out where the money went?
kona_wahine Posted June 22, 2022 #171 Share Posted June 22, 2022 I just bought stock last week when the price dropped and immediately put in for the credit, knowing I was probably too close to sailing date June 29. But the cruise, an 8 day to Alaska was only $310pp +fees and $200obc anyway so I don’t know that they would give the credit anyway. Maybe I’ll try guest services if it hasn’t shown, I guess it couldn’t hurt….

I sent an email to shareholders@carnival.com stating the following: Hi! Please find attached my current brokerage statement. Please issue shareholder credit to the following: Legal name: MY NAME Booking number: MY BOOKING NUMBER Ship: MY SHIP Sailing date: THE EMBARKATION DATE Thanks for your detailed instructions. Can I please ask (new shareholder and never applied before) do you do this no matter which line you are sailing on or only on "Carnival" branded ships. For instance I have two cruises coming up. One with Costa and one with Carnival. Do I apply to the same email address for both ?
