Sometimes a picture is easier than typing ingredients.  Although it says the Pub, they no longer make frozen drinks.

Everywhere I order this it has a different name!  We had these a few weeks ago at home. A bartender on Anthem called it a Firecracker.

So how many cruisers who have visited Aruba know what safety feature is not present on the island.
Not a game

no prizes

just curios if any one knows. I did mot till we were done with our excursion.

My unscientific guess, based on observations today, is that there are no traffic lights.

Just saw round a bouts everywhere.

Maybe it is because we were talking about them at dinner the other night with our table mates.

Busted!!

So we are sitting in Windjammer this morning, and a waiter walks up to us and says “I know you”.

We hadn’t run into him yet on this cruise, but saw him every day when we were on in March.

He says “You are the cookie people”.  Evidently that is our nickname, because we each stop and get four cookies each, to keep our cabin stocked.  🤣🤣

Then he remembered our names.

It is nice to be remembered, but maybe we should work at something other than cookies to be remembered by.

An I think I may have stumbled on why we put on some pounds on these cruises. 🤣🤣

It always amazes me when a crew member remembers you and even more so when they remember what you like or do.   Happened to us end of March with the internet mgr as well as some waiters in MDR we had in Jan.

Yes no traffic lights.

All those circle round a bouts.

Works for them.

Way to go Mark and Susan

Interesting.  I've vacationed in Aruba at least 8-9 times - 2 weeks at a time - and always rented a car. There used to be traffic lights.

Last time I was there was Nov 2020 and I did notice several traffic lights were replaced by traffic circles. Told it was to improve traffic flow. I guess in the pass 18 months they got rid of the last of the traffic lights.

A Union Jack Lava Flow sounds like a Miami Vice with a layer of Curacao in the middle.  I'll definitely need to try that.

We have 5 traffic circles near me.  Much better than a traffic light, assuming that people know how to use them.  We'll often see someone stopped at a circle, not knowing when to start moving again, with an out of state license plate.  The locals mostly drive straight through, even if they're driving 10 miles below the speed limit. 🙄

Good morning Curaçao. Off to meet our snorkeling excursion now.

is it really hot? We were there in November 2016 and it was UNBEARABLE. We are from GA, so that's saying something. Even our then 5 yo couldn't take it.

Another interesting    fact about Aruba is that the Scientology cruise ship Freewinds makes Aruba it’s home port. For supplies and stuff.

Ray also stated that Aruba has an 85% of the population are Catholic. And the later 15% has many other religions represented.

saw the ship on the way back to port. D98E36B6-0A42-40BD-A78F-23F8B9C0FC88.thumb.jpeg.b24af0299cc879415a9de3134dcfe664.jpeg

On the Odyssey last February we were docked so that we had a better view of the Freewind's deck.  They put on quite a little show for us 🤣.

Indeed! We are supposed to be there in August And all I can think of is the heat from 2 weeks of band camp in high school in August in the Atlanta area… trying to determine if August in DR and Curaçao  is survivable!

Curaçao

Just got back from our snorkel feed shark excursion. Which I will highly recommend.
small group 10 guest. attention to detail  I do not know how one guide devoted her time to each of us but she was remarkable.
beautiful safe lagoon. Barrier between us and sharks.

Dolphin show was one of the best ones.

The island is extremely windy. Hold onto your hats.

One point of interest. The shopping area is a good 5 min from port. And the TAXI s. Wanted $60 one way.

I know they suffered with COVID-19. But who didn’t. I just thought that when a  couple was waiting to ride share that it was highway robbery.

You are simply amazing. I have never seen someone that lucky. Could you rub me off some luck when we meet in the future?

Greg, If I remember correctly, we were going to vote for Sue to pick which machine we were going to use for the slot-pull on the Bella Cruise.🤣😂😇

When you try it, make sure they make the strawberry layer well frozen, as well as the pina colada layer.  The bottom layer should be thick, so the blue floats on it, before they add the frozen pina colada layer

I had them make one at solarium bar, and they just used the strawberry liquid.  It was not as good.

CYD, at Schooner bar now has it down.  He recognized me coming in this afternoon, and said “Same thing?”

He makes the best.

you are very kind.

just an FYI

the slots tend to have more wins in the evening.

now. That can be a problem with shows and dinners. Last night they announced over 25 jackpots starting at 7 pm.

Maybe we can do one at 3 or 4 pm ????

once again. The group will decide. But I found a couple that show a profit.

In October, it wasn’t too bad.  It has only been in the low to mid 80’s, but humidity is 85% or higher, so it makes it hot.

Reminds me of our hot August nights.  Wait, I think there is a song by that name.

As you said.... We'll let the "Powers To Be" decide. I'll just go with the flow.... Especially if it's a Lava Flow.🥤

WiFi is bad.

between losing texts to finally access ……. Has been trying.

so

let us talk about alcohol

so far after consuming drinks in suite lounge and our Diamond +, and me being prime in the Casino. We have yet to require to buy a drink.

We usually have a daiquiri early and then flip to skinny pirates. We did get the refreshment package for pop and bottle water.

We currently have enough in our mini cooler that is well stocked.

The way the prices have soared on RCI. The Diamond plus benefit is really a good perk.

Now between getting champagne and wine delivered to  our cabin which we did not order and have no clue who sent it. But Ty whomever did.

We always stock up on bottled water at the casino bar (prime freebie).    Yes, we definitely love the voucher system.

You must have a secret admirer sending you champagne and wine.     Maybe casino host?
