If you are suggesting cashing out without making the equivalent bets, I am certain that this is not the intent of Non Refundable OBC. I cannot say that I have tried it on every Celebrity ship, but I know it does not work that way on several of the ships. I could cash out all my wins and pushes, but the amount that I need not bet went back on my card to be used for betting. Do you actually think Celebrity considers this an acceptable use of non refundable OBC?
TFree Posted May 29, 2022 #32 Share Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) Just off Apex a few days ago. We “laundered” OBC through the casino both on table games and slot machines. For both uses you have to play all of the promo chips or credits. For tables it is easy, you just use the promo chips and set aside the real chips you win. For slots you sort of have to keep track of how much you have played, or periodically check the balance by cashing out winnings. Either way, really easy. We also had a lot of onward credit due to a price drop after final payment. We gambled around $1400 in table play and slots, and actually came out ahead! I am not sure this is a loophole per say. Part of our OBC was from buying the Indulge Package which we got $600 in OBC - I wouldn't consider that "their" money. If they cutoff the ability to use this for gambling I would think that would cut down on guests purchasing the package. The rest was from a drop in price that I received OBC. In the past another cruiseline actually refunded the drop in price, so I still consider this my money not actually a gift from Celebrity. Hopefully they feel the same way. Most of us using it in the casino leave some behind.

Sorry if this question seems obtuse, but when you go to the casino, and have all of that OBC, how are you certain that it's your OBC that is being used to "pay for" the chips, and not an additional charge to your onboard account? (Same question when you play the slots.)

When we moved money to our "bank" with the casino our OBC was decreased by that amount.
Guppy99 Posted May 29, 2022 #37 Share Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) If you have $100 in non-refundable credit you can NOT just transfer it to a slot machine and then cash it out. You have to bet the whole $100. You can cash out your winnings. If you win $50, then you are $50 ahead in cash, but you will have lost $50 in spending power onboard. The likelihood of you gambling $1700 in OBC and walking away with $1700+ is next to nil because the odds are with the casino. and this is not a "loophole". All winnings are paid in cash, if that's your question. They don't give you a check. The casino isn't run by the ship or even Celebrity. It's a 3rd party vendor. I think it's more likely that a person can lose track of the transfers versus winnings. Also, this is exactly how the casino packages work.

(Same question when you play the slots.) You go to the cashier, and tell them that you want to use your pre-purchased table play now. They then give you the promotional chips. Or in the case of pre-purchased slot play, you go to the cashier, and tell them that you want to use your pre-purchased slot credit. At that point, they load that onto the sea pass card and you use it with any of the machines. I understand the concern behind your question, but the simple answer is that you go to the cashier and tell them exactly what you want to do.
