Fridge?

Will be my first RC cruise...are there fridges in the room? If yes... Are they loaded with charged items, and if yes to THAT, can it be emptied prior to arrival?

There are "fridges" but they're not as cold as your fridge at home and they are empty.

What ship?  Some ships do not have fridges in all stateroom categories.

It's technically not a fridge, it's sort of a glorified cooler. It will keep things cooler than room temperature, but it will not be cold.

Yeesh. I guess when they build "cold weather" ships they really mean it.

Refrigerators vary greatly by ship.  Those on the older ships are just cooler boxes and do not keep things very cold.  Those on newer ships, like Quantum class, keep things very cold, sometimes too cold as seen in the picture above.

 

If you need to refrigerate medicine, you can request a medical refrigerator from the special needs department at least thirty days prior to your cruise.  It will keep things cold at a constant temperature,

Grandeur only had them in suites, not in regular cabins. I never saw which ship.

We had a balcony cabin on Grandeur and we had a cooler in ours back when we sailed in February/March for 3 weeks

Vision class ships only have fridges in the balcony and above cabins. Except Enchantment also has them in the (newer) staterooms that were added during the stretch.

What kind of balcony? My cabin didnt have one. Not sure where the line is

Ok sorry, it is balcony and up has them. sorry someone onboard said it was because I didnt have a suite. I believed them. ..thanks.

I you only have a "cooler" type, you can request ice for beverages.
