If Fiona goes up the east coast that could be a very bouncy cruise unless they switch itinerary to Canada and you get back to NJ before the storm is that far north. Hopefully it fizzles out or goes further out to sea by the time you board.

Janet524 Posted September 17, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2022 It's the reality of cruising during hurricane season. However, they do everything they can to avoid the storms and insure a safe (and smooth as possible) cruise. Several years ago we were on B2B when there were 2 hurricanes brewing in the Caribbean. The captain skirted both, and the cruise was smooth as silk.

The storm's impacts may exceed the 2011 Bering Sea Superstorm, one of the most powerful cyclones to affect Alaska on record, the National Weather Service in Fairbanks said, adding that some parts of the state may experience their worst coastal flooding in almost 50 years. AccuWeather called it "one of the strongest storms to ever hit the state of Alaska."
lovescats5 Posted September 18, 2022 #16 Share Posted September 18, 2022 We were just notified that Skagway has been dropped becuase of tendering being unsafe. Still can't believe people have cancelled their Quantum cuise. Stuff happens. We will enjoy even if we just stay onboard every day.

Your close to Seattle though, No way I would fly from the East Coast all the way to Seattle to do an Alaska Cruise and stay on the ship all 7 or 8 nights. Rare island lady Posted September 19, 2022 #19 Share Posted September 19, 2022 Currently docked up at Coco Cay...the sun is out...but very warm and humid. Guessing some rain later today. Very surprised we were able to come here today. Westbound tomorrow though. Went through quite the lightning storm with lots of wind around 3 am this morning. Calm seas now...lots of happy cruisers already on the island.
