Rare puppycanducruise Posted September 20, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet and Daily Report. It's 13C (55F) this morning but supposed to be 24C (75F) and sunny this afternoon. Sounds good to me! Bertie and I will go for a walk when it gets light outside. The sun is coming up later and later every day, I don't like that. But it should be a nice day and I need to do laundry, love to be able to hang it outside to dry in the sun. Interesting collection of days, I'm sure pepperoni pizza will be a favourite of many. I hope the "punch" is a fruit drink, not a physical action. I'm sure I need to "get ready" for something. Love the quote. The meal sounds good, looking forward to seeing the recipe. I think I'll like the drink. Hope the wine is good too. Prayers for everyone. I hope there will be lots of reasons to celebrate. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe.
StLouisCruisers Posted September 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning friends! I'm early today because we are going out for breakfast after exercise, then to the grocery for our weekly visit. So I need to Get Ready! Love pepperoni pizza but punch is usually a little too sweet for me. Not sure about the quinoa with the chicken salad. I do like the quote. For today's port, I have not been to Trieste before but of course went to Venice about 4 times back when larger ships were allowed there. We have not seen Trieste here on the Daily as our port of the day, but we did have Venice listed twice, on June 17, 2021 and August 14, 2022. I hope some of us who have been to Trieste will post their photos from their visit so we can all get a good look at it. Thanks all! I will post again later after I catch up with all the Daily posts. Have a good morning!🙂

Rare rafinmd Posted September 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Thank you for the Tuesday report, Rich. A nice collection of days; I believe it is also National Voter Registration Day in the US. I love the Dalai Lama quote . I have not been to Trieste but it's become a very important port, and is also the current home of my beloved Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony as they are prepared for an eventual return to service under new management. I'll pass on the meal. aliaschief Posted September 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning everyone. Stuffed ourselves at Ruby Tuesday’s salad bar then came home and crashed. So today will be a walk, laundry, and what ever else my retired lifestyle deems necessary! Received our documents for our river cruise this morning so that is becoming a reality. Fond of pepperoni on my pizzas. At our ages I guess we have to be ready for just about anything and another great quote from the Dalai Lama. Looking forward to reading everyone’s post and some chuckles along the way. Thanks Rich for the Fleet Report. I remember the period we didn’t know the Fleet’s whereabouts; so I really appreciate your dedicated Daily. Bruce
cat shepard Posted September 20, 2022 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Thank you for today’s Report and Daily, Rich! Thank you for keeping our lists, Roy! Another busy morning. I will continue my saga later, but wanted to share that the Niew Amsterdam was at approximately 60% capacity the week that I sailed on her. And everywhere I went I saw signs “Masks Required”. And 99.9% of the passengers complied. 😎 Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating. Stay well everyone! ******** Château Lamartine 2018 Cuvée Particulière (Cahors) I usually need to taste Malbec before purchasing it. Sometimes it is just too much for me. This one has good reviews from consumers and critics. Available from several online distributors with prices starting at $19.99. Cahors, France is the birth place of Malbec. Chateau Lamartine has been producing this wine from one of the oldest terraces overlooking the Lot River. This top Cuvee Particuliere comes from 40 to 60 year old vines grown on clay-limestone soil. Aging and cement tanks and large oak barrels from 12-14 months provides complexity and wines suitable for aging. The area around Cahors produces wine, primarily robust and tannic red wine. Wine from the Cahors must be made from at least 70% Malbec (also called Cot). During the Phylloxera crisis in the 1870’s, our ancestors were stone cutters and built the village houses. One of them was the Château Lamartine house in 1883.The house was built in place of a century year old oak tree which was sheltering the Martine amorous meetings… which gave the name of Château Lamartine. After 40 vintages, increasing by 3 the size of the vineyard, and a few millions of bottles selling in the worldwide, Alain gave the hand to his children, Lise and Benjamin. 92 Wine Enthusiast WINE NOTES Complex and expressive, the nose reveals aromas of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) and black fruits (blackberry) supported by a fine woody vanilla note. We find these aromas embellished with liquorish, in an ample, powerful and suave palate, backed by velvety tannins. A friendly and generous Cahors perfect to pair with duck, goose, game and cheese. This is a ripe, polished wine. Wood aging brings a perfumed character to the bold black fruits from old vines. The wine has heft and richness while keeping a succulent character. This estate is situated in the west of the Cahors appellation on the north bank of the Lot River 90% Malbec 10% Tannat 26

dfish Posted September 20, 2022 #11 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning, everyone! Last night was one of those sleepless nights. I finally fell asleep around 3:00 am. Today will be a tough one, but I'm hoping I will sleep tonight. Way too much stress today. I have to go get more dirt for the other corner in the back of the house. That is an easy fix. Today's meal is a healthy one we should all embrace. Quinoa is especially healthy for us. Quinoa is a nutrient dense, gluten free grain. Quinoa is a good source of a number of important nutrients, including folate, magnesium, zinc, and iron. It’s also rich in fiber and protein, nutrients that play an important role in helping you feel full. Quinoa contains flavonoids, including quercetin and kaempferol, which have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in the body. Quinoa is high in fiber, a nutrient that’s important for health. Adding more fiber-rich foods into your diet can help support gut health, body weight maintenance, and more. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free. Using it in place of highly processed gluten-free foods can increase the nutrient value of your diet when you’re avoiding gluten. Quinoa is a good source of protein and can help you meet your daily protein needs. Quinoa is very high in minerals, but it also contains some antinutrients like saponins and phytic acid. Rinsing, soaking, and sprouting helps reduce these antinutrient compounds. When you enjoy it as part of a well-rounded diet, quinoa can help support overall health and may improve certain disease risk factors, like high blood lipid levels. Quinoa is widely available, and you can use it in many different dishes, including sweet and savory options. Try this today: You can enjoy quinoa any time of day. You can cook it in bulk and store it in the fridge for easy meal prep, too. Our first recipe comes from Healthline: For a meal prep-friendly lunch idea, try layering quinoa, grilled vegetables, feta cheese, beans, and roasted chicken in mason jars and storing them in the fridge. Simply top your salad jar with a bit of olive oil and lemon juice and enjoy! This next recipe is extremely easy and uses ingredients that are on hand or easy to get. https://pinchofyum.com/basic-awesome-chicken-quinoa-salad Doesn't that look refreshingly good? This one is a little more involved, but I think the flavor explosion will be worth it. At the end it gives you WW points if you follow their diets. https://emilybites.com/2018/01/greek-chicken-quinoa-salad.html This one is way different with cabbage and sesame seeds. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/chicken-sesame-and-quinoa-salad-3361489 This next one is also different in the ingredients it uses. https://itsnotcomplicatedrecipes.com/chicken-and-quinoa-salad/ So, the story is, use the ingredients you enjoy most and be healthy while eating well. Wishing you all a wonderful day. I'm going to do my laps, put down some dirt, and stay out of the basement. 22
RedneckBob Posted September 20, 2022 #12 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Thanks for the Fleet Update and general info. OK CC Members, it's Getting Ready Day, so, I'm getting ready and here I come; (from the 4 Tops). Time for my next cruise story diary. I might have to go on another cruise soon to get new material; running out of material. This cruise story I call: Show Me The Money This story starts way back on March 25, 2016 aboard the Celebrity Equinox, 10 Caribbean cruise. I was very fortunate to be able to escort three (3) lovely ladies on this cruise with me being the only man. The ladies included the Misses, our daughter and our daughter's best friend. It was a great cruise but it seemed every time we went to dinner, at 6 PM, the girls were always a little late (something a sexist might say). Well, there was this one night we all ate at one of the Specialty Restaurants called the Tuscan Grill. I arrived on time at 6 PM but we were not seated until 6:10 PM. The Manger of the Restaurant, Minguel, escorted us to our table for four next to the window; very nice. So we were half way through our dinner and Minguel came to our table and asked us how was our meal. We all said excellent! Then Minguel asked, "Mr. RedneckBob. you are a very lucky man. How are you able to dine with three such beautiful women". I thought a second and replied, "Money" 😀. Well Minquel almost fell to his knees with that response. What us could I say. Now as Paul Harvey would, wait for the rest of the story, Now fast forward to May 7, 2017. We are back on the Equinox for another 10 day Caribbean cruise but this time just the Misses and me. We are back at the Tuscan Grill for another great dinner. And guess what, Minquel is the Manager again. Once we are seated he comes up to us and asked, "Mr. RedneckBob, welcome back, where are the other two lovely ladies that were with you last year on this ship". The Misses replied, "He ran out of Money"! And now you know the rest of the story. RedneckBob, out. 7
Rare kazu Posted September 20, 2022 #13 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Thanks for our Tuesday Daily, Rich. Interesting collection of days. I think I will celebrate Get Ready day once it stops raining and get ready for Fiona. Apparently the hurricane may clash with the typhoon remnants we will be getting and it will draw Fiona to us. Too early to predict where landfall will be. 😬 But as the weatherman says - better to be over prepared and underwhelmed than under prepared and overwhelmed. Love the quote by the Dalai Lama - so true. We’ve been to Venice many times but next year we will have a day in Trieste and plan on seeing it. I already have a tour arranged. @dfishhope that your neighbour’s solution fixes your problem 🤞 Well, I better Get Ready - have an appointment this morning and I will need a cab to get there. Yup, I’m still sans wheels. The parts didn’t get in until late yesterday. They are going to try to get to the SUV this morning. Sure hope so, I need it tomorrow for grief counselling - that’s not a cab ride & I need stuff. I’ve been carless since last Thursday. (There are no loaners to lend here - cars are in short supply). Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Tuesday everyone !!!!!! Rare ottahand7 Posted September 20, 2022 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning! I am sitting at the Chevy dealership waiting on an oil change. Then off to Costco. Someone just came in to check out and her perfume caused a coughing fit. It has been a long time since that has happened, sitting behind Russian women at voir dire at our courthouse. Just after getting over the flu to boot. Oh no she came and sat next to me. I am now sitting in an empty showroom. Rich thank you for the Daily Reports. A great quote by the DL. I'll pass on the cocktail and the recipe but the wine looks very good. Looking forward to today's port photos. Prayers for the people of Puerto Rico, DR and Turks and Caicos. Our trip is set for Baltimore, many meals with family and friends. Praying for a dry day in Baltimore October 2. Probably should start praying for a win after the Buffalo Bills spanked the Titans yesterday. Looks like my truck is done. 😄

We have not been to Trieste but would love to see it, even if only in pictures.I will give a shout out to Voter Registration Day and think we try to be ready for anything around here. The recipes look delicious and the executive chef is leaning towards the Greek Chicken recipe if we can get out soon for the ingredients. Tana and I watched. The Queen’s Funeral service yesterday and shed a few tears together. The family must be so exhausted . I remember the days after family funerals as especially difficult when all of the “company” is gone.

Dismomx5 Posted September 20, 2022 #23 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning. It's a coolish morning here in SW Ontario, but bright and sunny, with a high of 26ºC promised. National Get Ready Day! Well, that does it. Time to get the clothes on the bed and into the suitcases for our vacation next week. Many thanks for the thread and all who contribute to it. ger_77 Posted September 20, 2022 #24 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily! I enjoy pepperoni pizza, some punches if they're not overly sweet (a simple fix is adding either soda water or tonic to tame them down), and I'm now in a Get Ready For A Cruise mode! Well we're back from our delightful visit with our 2 grandsons and their parents. We nearly got in all of our "eleven teen fousand" hugs, but will have to return at Christmas to collect the rest. We played Old Maid, Lego, trucks & cars, and a couple of evenings Grandpa and the 2 boys played the Dorito breath contest. So mature, but the boys were in fits of giggles with it. DH decided yesterday we'd take a different way home because the usual way was boring (which it is, but it's also the most direct). Instead of taking about 5 or 6 hours, we were in the car for 9 gawd-awful hours in the pouring rain all the way home!! When we pulled onto the driveway I thumped DH on the shoulder and said "Don't ever do that again!" The one thing we did do yesterday though, was in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth, we stopped in the small town of Coronation, Alberta for lunch. We found out the town as named for the coronation of her father, King George VI. I'm sorry we missed all the television coverage, but did see highlights on the late news last night. My heart really went out to the family, as I can't imagine grieving in public like that. Now that we're home it's time for groceries, laundry, and looking at our trans-Atlantic in the not too distant future. Looking at the weather, we also have to get the yard ready for winter, as tonight we are expecting frost, and that'll definitely mean the last of the outdoor plants. A quick scan of the previous day's Fleet & Daily shows I've got some catching up to do. @dfishI'm sorry to hear about your basement woes. And the fellow had better accept your offer or you should withdraw it. I'm sure there must be other houses that would be as good or even better; keeping you in limbo is not right. @kazuI hope you get your car back soon; the people at the dealership seem like great upstanding folks to continue the repair even though the warranty expired. @mamaofami wishing you and Sam a belated Happy Anniversary. Not having any groceries to speak of in the house, I think I'll pull out some frozen chili and will heat up some garlic bread for a hearty meal in the kitchen tonight (it's going to be too cold to eat on the deck). And wine. Prayers for those who need them, and cheers for the celebrations! Stay safe everyone! Smooth Sailing! Gerry
Seasick Sailor Posted September 20, 2022 #25 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Good morning fellow Daily-ites. We have our little neighbor dog visiting for a week. Just finished her walk about and she's having a nap. Cleaning ladies are due today, so decided to get some shopping done and out to lunch. Pepperoni pizza Allen would like. I would enjoy a veggie one. Debbie darn it on the basement problems. That guy had better accept your offer. Wishing everyone a great day. Prayers for those islands being hit by hurricane, flooding in Alaska, the 2nd earthquake for Mexico this morning, the aftermath of the Queens burial. The Royal family must be exhausted.. The people of Ukraine and all our friends on Roy's care list.
