Good Morning from the Majestic Princess.

Today we are docked in Mt Maunganui, Tauranga.

Love that port.  Whilst most passengers scurry away to Rotorua, we take local bus to Tauranga for best shopping.  Then we walk around the local town or the mountain.

Take the time to do the walkway along the Tauranga waterfront, see the bronze monument to Hairy Maclary.

How did I miss that.  What was his claim to fame?

He didn't actually do anything, Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy is a popular and very delightful children's book series by Lynley Dodd -

Thank you Jean.  I won't miss them next time.  I was probably too busy looking at the shops.  When you are doing car tours of NZ, you take every opportunity to shop when you can.

The boarding for this cruise is a total schemozzle.

Is this the first time it has been in Sydney?  I don't have the patience for that.  I go away and have a coffee or an icecream and come back later keeping an eye on the ship.
