Here is the daily for today.  We always hilight the things we MIGHT do, so please forgive the green lines.  I know many of you are concerned with guest speakers, so have included that, and will keep posting the dailies so you can imagine what you would do if on board with us.

Well you have just answered a question I have just posted about the World Cup football (soccer) matches being shown onboard as it was there in the first photograph of the daily programme 😁😁

Just an editorial note….if you want to post pictures as part of your narrative, all you need to do is upload your pics and then tap the part of the narrative that describes the pic, scroll down to the uploaded pics, tap the picture and tap insert.  This way you don’t have all the pictures at the end of the post.

I’m really enjoying your writing!  We have two cruises booked on Splendor, London to Barcelona in 2023 and Lisbon to Cape Town in 2024.  We have been on all the other ships, so your descriptions are most welcome!

Thanks for adding the daily info. We have our first RSSC next month and I was really pleased to see such a range of activities. We will enjoy the lectures, crafts, quizzes and music.

It will be my birthday during the cruise so I hope I get a lovely cake like your hubby did.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Quick update.  We did a whole lotta nothing today.  Loved it.  Lunch was in Chartreuse.  Rolf had tuna nicoise and salmon and I had the goat cheese with pretzel crust appetizer and Croque Madame, which was yummy.

@forgap, trying to do what you suggested for photos.  I’m on my iPad and not sure about the insert instruction,  I’ll keep trying.

This afternoon we played trivia for the first time ever on a ship.  We met Jim and Karen, whose birthday was also yesterday and they were kind enough to invite us to join them.  And then we were joined by Kathy, so we combined forces to do not so great, but we got 13. The winning team had 22, so kudos to them!  Wow!  Want to be them when I grow up!

Tonight we were going to do Sette Mari but are going to do Compass Rose instead.  It is also formal optional so I think we will dress up a little.  Jim told us that the ship is full but it is certainly not crowded at all.  Tonight’s show is Sarah Carter, who used to be the solo fiddler for Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance.  She did a fabulous job last night on The Devil Went Down to Georgia by the Charlie Daniels Band.  Looking forward to her show.

Wendy, as per my other note, still may meet up. Understand the “view” situation. That happened to us when we quarantined on our Baltic cruise. Are you able to get out and about?

Sorry, not sure what you're referring to.  We're not cruising currently; Splendor in January.

@GeorgiaPeach51  further pic instructions:   Before you post your entry I assume you have uploaded all your pics.  If you touch the pic, you will see “insert” in the bottom right corner.  Let’s say you want to insert the picture here.   Make sure your cursor is positioned here and then scroll town to the pic you want to insert and tap insert.  C1A75390-727F-45EB-9540-5B2AB322D6C8.jpeg.e1008560a3a0a41e23682ee98e4380d6.jpeg

and say you want to insert another picture.  Repeat the process like this:086FCDEA-572D-423C-821A-2A928B77572E.jpeg.bc0d231e4a12717ed0985a0c4e20e755.jpeg

i usually will write my whole post and correct spelling and grammar then decide where I want the pics and insert them.  Or, you can insert as you write.  Whatever is easier for you!  Cheers to you!

GeorgiaPeach, I’m really enjoying your report! Your pictures and descriptions are terrific. We will be on the Splendor for the first time in February so thank you for adding to our excitement.

Carolina Cruisin, my fingers are crossed for you and I so hope to hear that you made the ship. Sounds like an absolute hot mess. My very, very best to you.

First, for those of you wondering about the benefits of booking on board…..this is a photo I took during the future cruise presentation this morning.  He takes walk in guests in the mornings and by appointment only in the afternoon.  He implored us to take care of arrangements early in the cruise rather than later, since so many people suddenly realize on the last day before the end of the cruise that they didn’t plan for the next one.

Yay, figured out the photo mystery!  For my old iPad there is no insert function but I figured out that if I click the forward or send or email or message arrow, there is a spot for copy, and I am able to copy and paste where I want it. Thanks, @forgap for getting me starting on making hopefully a little more enjoyable posts for readers.

Here is today’s Passages.

Last night we were going to go to Sette Mari but decided to try Compass Rose for the first time this cruise.  In contrast to our last cruise we found it much busier and I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the very efficient staff.  In the Meridian we met some great folks, among them @NCCruzQueen and @wishIweretravelling and had a lot of fun talking about their travels. Lovely people.

We went to the Sarah Carter show.  In addition to being a gifted fiddler she sings.  I found her charming but it was a lot of fiddle music for me.  Still, she ended with Orange

Blossom Special.  Wow!

We made our contribution to the casino and called it a day.

GP (....hey, same as my initials!).....if possible, would like to ask a favor of you. When next by pool bar, could you check 4th barstool from left at pool bar to see if my imprint is still there from our March cruise? We will be doing Miami to Lisbon March '23  so wondering if I need to work on a new imprint.

Enjoying your posts.....have a great cruise.

I have a question of my own for those of you who have sailed on the Voyager.  How does Voyager compare to Explorer or Splendor?  In perusing the info it appears that Concierge suites are about 100 sq. Ft. smaller and the bathroom has only one sink.

We are contemplating booking a 25 night in 2025 and a 22 night in 2023 and I’d love some firsthand viewpoints, if you can help with your own observations. Thanks.

I almost hate to say anything the way everything keeps changing. So, we sitting at home in SC at 11am, feeling sorry for ourselves. Decided to call Delta to ask if we were still booked on the second leg of our trip. They advised that they had rebooked our entire flight. Who knew??  Called Regent and found they are holding the ship. Contrary to what we were told last night. Luckily we had not unpacked. So yet another trip to the airport. We are now sitting in Atlanta waiting to depart at 11:45pm. Arrive Lima 6:20am (we hope). So we may see you yet. Drinks will be in order. For all that have sent well wishes, hope to see some of you tomorrow, others perhaps sometime in the future. Not getting too excited until we step onboard.

Really hope you made it to the ship and have now relaxed.

We have sailed the most on Voyager and I like the ship a lot.  Splendor and Explorer have more dining venues and the beautiful outside dining area at la Veranda.  However. Voyager has an outdoor lounging space on the back of the ship off one of the lounges which is our favorite place to have a cocktail or just read during the day.   I think the rooms are comparable and, of course, only one sink in the bathroom.   The balconies in concierge level suites are smaller than on Explorer (our last two cruises were on Explorer). Keep in mind we haven’t been on Voyager in four years, I think, and we may be spoiled by the Explorer!  We will sail on Voyager in January, so I will give an updated report.

Concierge suites on Voyager are the same size and layout as “standard” Veranda suites. The difference being the one night pre-cruise stay and a few additional amenities such as the Illy coffee maker.

They may also be in a better position on the ship; personally I’d avoid anything Aft on lower decks - suites in those areas on Voyager can have some vibration issues (similar but not as bad as Navigator).

It’s still a lovely ship, nowhere near as glitzy as Explorer or Splendor and sadly lacking Pacific Rim, but we’d happily sail on her again.

Happy choosing and cruising. LP

Appreciate your response but I should have waited a while before posting.  Turns out we will not make the cruise - through no real fault of Regent.  Won't bore everyone with details just suffice it to say that a series of flight delays and cancellations - and then a plane crash at the Lima airport has prevented us from reaching the ship in time to embark.  Few other options so we opted out.  Wish us luck on the insurance claims on this one.  Enough of a "downer" - wish all of you happy cruising.  We will try again in February '23

Sorry you decided to do that, from what I understand the ship hasnt left yet

All but 1 of our Regent cruises have been on Voyager with the 1 being on Explorer.  Though i do like Voyager, I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed with her after being on the newer Explorer. When we were on her she was showing her age, though i think she was refurburished after that.

We missed the better cabin layout on Explorer, the ability to eat in the speciality restaurants for lunch and Pacific Rim. As well at first we missed the 2nd sink but got over that.

Our next cruise is on Voyager because we choose our cruises based on itinerary rather than ship.    The suite on Voyager is slightly smaller than on Explorer though i am not sure it is 100 sq ft unless you are including the balcony.

I wouldn't hesitate to book Voyager if it is going where i want to go.  I will see how i feel after our next cruise at the end of January.

Glad to hear this, but I find it horrible that Regent never contacted you , actually seems like they talked you into returning home!

I “promise” this will be the last I intrude uninvited into Georgia Peaches’s postings. Just wanted to close the loop re all of our trials and tribulations. Bottom line - we are on the Mariner. Pulled away from the dock a few hours. Enjoying ourselves whereas 48 hours ago didn’t think it would happen. Have met some very nice people, including some CC watchers. Thanks to all who sent their encouraging words. I will now become another avid reader of this thread.

We are heading to the Voyager in a couple of weeks.  We have been on the Navigator, Explorer and Voyager.  The Explorer is very nice, so nice you can forget you are on a ship.  Well I like being on a ship.

When you look at the size of Concierge on the Explorer vs Voyager, need to compare the suite size separate from the balcony size. The Explorer Concierge suite is only about 25 Sq Ft larger.

We also book based on itinerary, but we still really like the Voyager and the Navigator.  I do not hesitate at all booking either the Voyager or the Navigator.
