In terms of numbers (if you exclude 3rd/4th+ passengers) then you will have just over 400 passengers allowed to eat at the Reserve Collection Restaurant  while only 160 will be eating at the Signature restaurant. And they aren't that different in size.

I guess the ultimate aim is to encourage passengers to spend their money on their way to their respective dining rooms rather than it being quicker.🙂 And it does work against the ship within a ship concept

In the app I am showing Reserve Collection dining for my D0- aft cabin. So that must be one of the upgrades/benefits mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.

Wow, and no big leap in prices (to account for Signature benefits) on new bookings in this new category on the Princess site as yet! They still haven't made it clear on the messaging though.

Well, I got it just a few hours before they increased the price. about $150 CAD pp more. For D0 aft.

I’m currently on the Sky Princess.  My stateroom attendant’s contract was ending today.  While I was saying good bye to him, he mentioned that a number of crew members were also leaving the ship today, as they are being transferred mid-contract to the Sun Princess.  They are being flown directly to Europe at this time.

 

My guess is that they wouldn’t be crewing the ship at this time, if it weren’t going to begin sailing on February 8th.  So, I’m taking this as a positive sign for those of us on the Sun’s February sailings.  Finger crossed!

Not to be $hitty, but that's a r/s thing, not suite concierge thing... wouldn't you agree? Now, if you were going over to the Concierge lounge and picking up a carafe each day, then that's their wheelhouse.

I just downloaded the new app, and while it has my cabin and category correct being D0 it does not say anything about the Reserve dining room in the app or personalizer

Do you have one of the aft- D0 cabins?  They were more $$$ money then the other D0 locations and said includes Signature upgrades and Benefits..

Mine has Reserve Collection each day in the Dine My Way section

I'm so glad I just have a DB balcony grade cabin for two weeks next August. Other than being Elite I have no upgrades/benefits to get perplexed over 😂

My opinion is that they should follow up to make sure it happens.  Not just make one phone call and then wash their hands of it.  They are there to fulfill requests so you don't have to call room service.  We also asked for another lounger on our deck and that took 3 days to fulfill.  Every day they asked us if the lounger was there yet. They should KNOW if it's there yet as they should be following up.  Why have the Suite Concierge if they are not replacing what I would need to go to other departments for.  Don't have these problems on Celebrity (now I've opened up a different fire storm!).  Like I said, once I lowered my expectations of what they should be doing (ie nothing), I had a great cruise.

The running joke while on the Sky 3 weeks ago was "all the good ones must have been moved to the Sun already".  I REALLY don't want the crew from the current Sky on the Sun.  See another thread specifically about the bad service on the Sky.

I can see them making changes to what is offered  on Signature benefits, just like they did to : 18% on SD , room service $1499 fee etc.

 Everyone on here is experiencing the same thing if they have a Suite booked.  They just haven't added "Signature Collection" to their verbiage yet.  All learning curve things we will hope are fixed by the time we sail!

The Signature (Suite) dining room is walk-in. You won't need a reservation - you will be seated almost immediately whenever you choose to dine.

You should be able to book specialty dining whenever, regardless of Captain Circle level.  I was referring to making reservations in the MDR.  Since you are in a suite and on the Sun Princess, you automatically are booked into the Signature Collection Dining Room, which does not require reservations. 

 

On any other Princess ship, suite guests dine in the Reserve Collection Dining Room along with guests in Reserve Collection Mini-Suites.

I think not being able to book specialty restaurants on the Sun might have to do more with it being a new ship and Princess not having that set up yet than what loyalty level or cabin you have.

Have you read about anyone being able to book Specialty restaurants yet on the Sun?

I like your logic that it is probably not setup up yet for SUN

and if anyone has booked speciality dining for SUN specifically, please chime in

I’m on the inaugural in 38 days and I still can’t book dining. No one has reported being able to on our roll call. Sun dining does not seem to be set up yet.
