Drinks are available as soon as you board  at most bars.

The complimentary  HH drinks are not honored on the first night, and I don’t think on the the night  of the CC Senior Officer  party.

On our September Summit cruise CC HH drinks were only excluded on the first evening.

That appears to be the new standard practice from our cruises.  (Not that it matters to use as we always have the Premium drink package). I cannot recall the last time they had a senior officers party in the evening.

It's usually in the afternoon on a sea day.

We also do the BPs. Agree. The SOP was in the afternoon in the Sky Lounge on a sea day on our September cruise. Ordered our drinks from the SL bar.

If you're Elite with Celebrity can someone kindly explain how the free drinks from 5-7 work. Sorry bit confused.. doesn't apply to first night? Can you get your free drinks in the dining room the rest of the nights from 5-7 or at a certain bar?

( sorry for silly questions, but I'm Diamond on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity apparently honors Elite as per agreement )

Elite happy hour is free UNLIMITED drinks from a specific menu available from 5-7 at most bars except for a few. It is NOT available in ANY dining room/restaurant, so most people order from a bar and bring a drink into the dining room if it's around the time of the happy hour. The photo below shows which bars are excluded. Sorry I don't have a photo of the drinks list, I'm sure someone else will post it. So it's different from Royal in that you can only order drinks from that limited menu. Besides specific wines, beers and cocktails it does list individual sprits so a bartender can do a simple mixed drink, say gin & tonic, screwdriver, etc.

That's super helpful, thank you. I think I know the answer, but if I'm travelling with my sister and she's not Diamond/Elite can she be with me at any of the venues etc? not get free drinks etc but come with me? TIA

Oh yes, sure. Since the HH is available in most of the bars everyone is welcome. Previously the HH was in one reserved space where you had to show your Elite and higher status to gain admittance, but that's no longer the case.

Edit: Royal's current voucher system IMO is much better since you can use it any time of the day and for any drink up to voucher limit. Celebrity's way is unlimited drinks but only for that two hour period and only from a limited drinks list.

Your sister can attend events with you only if you share a cabin

yes, we're sharing a cabin 🙂 Would her card show Elite or ?

TIA

When my daughter was in my cabin the CC host had a new card made for her to say elite so it would be easy to attend events. No other perks are attached though.

What was the approximate date of this experience? What you describe was routine pre-Covid shutdown, so I was just wondering if this practice has persisted.

Just of Summit no free drinks 5-7 at Martini Bar or Al Bachio. All other bars are ok.

This is new, never had a problem receiving drinks at the Martini Bar.  Café al Bacio isn't a bar so no surprise there.  Usually the print out paper simply says not available at Craft Social and the World Bar even if the ship doesn't have them

Agreed and that's pretty annoying. I guess it's because they're too busy making expensive drinks, although with Drink packages most people aren't paying per drink.

this was pre-covid. We still had the happy hour in Sky lounge and cards were checked at the door

Off the Summit 4 weeks ago and we had HH drinks at the Martini Bar between 5-7 PM. Just show your card and you can ask for the HH menu if you need it. We always go "cans" of water as well and brought back to our room for later use.  If you visit the casino you can get a complimentary drink as well any time of the day.

Also there were 2 Captain Club events in the Sky Lounge on this cruise as well which we did not have when we sailed last summer. We have never been asked to show our card at these events.  Seems like anyone could go if they knew about it and wanted to do such a thing.
