Talk is Jazz on 4 will be replaced with non-smoking casino on Oasis class ships

Recommended Posts

According to the article below, RCI plans to convert Jazz on 4 on all Oasis class ships into non-smoking casinos.  Why not just put barriers between the smoking and non-smoking sections in the casino and keep Jazz on 4? 🤷‍♀️

I heard this previously. I'm not happy about it either.

Not talk, happening.  Guess they will have to add casino staff/technicians, bar staff and a cashier. I know the area wasn’t particularly revenue producing, but putting in a small separate casino, fairly far from the regular casino  doesn’t seem to make much sense to me.

Have we heard if it will be table games or slots?

Likely the same as Wonder.

Which I never visited on our sailing😉

I didn't see it until you pointed it out.  The news article I posted a link to was not on the previous thread. It appears now that it is not just rumor.

Is this what we are calling a news article nowadays?   To me it reads like an opinion piece?   The article specifically uses the term “may” and states that “rumor suggests” and that the company hasn’t verified anything they are speculating on.  So basically this article is publishing rumors via citing rumors from social media, and then social media is citing said article as news.   Gee this sounds awfully familiar and sadly is the process used in much more important areas beyond golden casino “news” stories.

As far as the unconfirmed rumors, they may very well play out to be true.  But as far as I know they have yet to be confirmed by the company.  And even if they change one ship, it doesn’t mean they will do it to all of them.  They do tend to keep some things different on some ships in the same class.

Curious what your source is when you say the conversion to a casino is happening and not just talk?

Well at least that is a credible source if true.  The referenced opinion piece only cites rumors (probably coming from folks on here) and a ship statement about generic renovations.   I get the logical theory and assumed it was likely.  But that article being called a news article is a perfect example of what is wrong with our modern main stream media.

Interesting that the CD discussed it onboard, but corporate won’t acknowledge anything.  Not denying what you are saying n any way.  But this is so Royal.  That is such a horrible look when rumors flow and info is handed out to some at operational level, but yet corporate won’t even acknowledge it.

And all the pieces taken together pretty much confirms the rumour.

So triangulation of rumors confirms things?  That method of proof has worked great over the past several years.

Now a clock is right twice a day, so some rumors certainly will pan out.  But if I had a dime for every rumor about changes Royal would make (that they didn’t) I’d be sailing star class 24/7 365 days a year.

Forgive me if I don’t believe the circular arguments of social media rumors which are the only source for “news” articles that serve as the source for social media posts.  The whole scenario is ludicrous.

What's really funny is that the ships officers will repeatedly tell you we know more than them when it comes to change

On Wonder the small casino had both slots and four tables.

The design of Wonder pretty much sounded the death knoll. Granted she was built for Asian market, but I'm guessing they didn't get a lot of negative feedback in her first year
