Becoming Masters onboard - do benefits start immediately?

Recommended Posts

Going to hit masters on the first leg of a B2B2B.  Wondering if the benefits (Wifi 2 device vs 1 mostly) get activated automatically, do we need to talk to the casino host to get it, or is there a delay?  My spouse won't have her own package for the second leg, and to avoid serious and grievous mental and physical harm, I need to know if I need to visit the Voom desk and request the free D+ days immediately upon re-embarkation for leg 2...

It’s a casino status level.  Highest or close to highest tier.

Does highest or close to highest mean you lost the highest amount of $$$..........So this status thing is so when you walk into the casino now everyone knows you the biggest loser onboard?

That is surely a club I don't want to belong to.

That would be better answered by those in the program.  I don’t venture down to the casino much anymore given I have young kids.  Although last year I had a little time to gamble two different nights and I won a little.  Only a couple hundred, but better than nothing.  My friend (our families traveled together) left the cruise up a thousand. We had a great time.  Some folks definitely win, although in the long run we all know it’s a losing proposition.  I wouldn’t gamble what I can’t easily afford to lose.  It’s entertainment to me.

Appreciate the humour. It is the Casino Royale status, and I was just hoping someone that does play in the casino might have some insight as to how the program tier benefits apply when you move through a level on a B2B, similar to the questions people have about attaining Crown and Anchor status and when the benefits become available. Thanks.

I don't think all benefits start immediately.  Your gonna have to talk to host once you hit the number of points needed.  They do add a sticker to your card for prime for free drinks.  Maybe internet as well????  I would buy the voom and then attempt to cancel the balance at guest services if you now get it free.

If it's an iffy thing, go with the known:  get the D+ days to start off.  That way, it's a win-win with 2 devices, hopefully.  Happy wife/ happy life.

If you hit Masters earlier in the cruise, rather than the last day or two, you'll get the extra internet package immediately.  I believe that you need to talk to the casino host, and then the VOOM person.  If you only care about getting the extra package on the next cruise, casino host + VOOM person as soon as the casino opens.

But as Peggy said, the fallback guaranteed position is activating the D+ days when she boards.  She can do that either in the terminal or as soon as she steps foot on the ship.

While YMMV, I hit Signature in early February on the Enchantment.  When I stepped foot on the Anthem on February 26, the internet package was automatic when I opened the app.

Welcome to the most select (and misunderstood) class of cruisers in the family. Love master's status. Gives us the maximum benefits in terms of comped suites, access to all of the high-end lounges and dining venues (get away from the crowds).

And yes, you do have to run $500K through the casino in a year (that does not necessarily mean losing by the way). It is fairly easy to do if you cruise a couple of time a month...

The only hiccup on the status change is it will take a day or two to get your key to work in the suites lounge and CK...

I knew about CK, but does it give Suite Lounge access still?

Sorry about delayed response (enjoying the cruise)...

Yes, masters status gets you in the suites lounge as well (although they never put us in a room lower than a grand suite when we play on the previous cruise)..
