I hope Pride will be embarking from Baltimore because I found a BnB on a river about 45 minutes from port. If we leave at 7am we should arrive at the BnB around 3pm for check in. Then we can chill with a glass of wine watching the river flow by. I like starting our vacation as soon as possible 👍😁do you have excursions/plans while in Bermuda?

Hi, nope, I did not book any excursions. I have been to Bermuda 3 or 4 times over the years. I will probably take the ferry over to Hamilton one day. Walk around, have lunch at The Hog Penny too. Maybe take the ferry over to St George on another day.....and just walk around The Navy Yard too. And just relax on the ship. I bet it will be fairly empty with most folks doing tours.

It comes with a smaller peach zipper bag that could be used to go to dinner! It was $44 yesterday but dropped to #37 today. I am such a sucker! PS the pics show it does have a strap to hook it to your pull handle on a suitcase? Wide enough for the IT carryon, even. PPS sorry this pic is so big! -- Elizabeth I love backpacks, but that one -- with the extra handles and large size at the top -- looks heavy. If you opt for a backpack -- and I almost always do -- don't carry your money, credit cards and ID in the bag, which is -- after all -- behind you. Keep those things on your person. My personal favorite method is to wear bike shorts (with big pockets) under a casual dress.

You are correct -- the bag is quite enormous, easily a weekender all by itself. It is currently packed with a month's worth of crafting and other non-essential "third bag because we are driving" items! I subsequently bought this smaller bag (which is heavier than you might like due to its organization abilities). Again with the crazy big picture! It is about 16" tall. I would pack a simple stuffable daypack for excursions.

For sub $100 USD. Looks like a $5 off sale today I realized I was getting frustrated with my current backpack (more padding than needed, weird organization, delicate feeling zippers…it’s a keep partially packed for impromptu getaways bag, not a sturdy air travel option (and it’s not like I live near a port). I test-packed the Island Hopper, and it’s got plenty of flex room (perfect for fitting under the seat on a flight), opens all the way (like a book), and my pack weighed in at 4.8 kg. I’ve got one clothing item to add, so I’m way under any weight concerns. The Hopper was fine! We had three days in Venice precruise, and a day in Athens post cruise. easy on trains and buses, I over packed (I do hand laundry). used it as a bag on a couple stops. I had a crossbody purse, too. I used the Hopper on beach days as I packed an extra water bottle and towels for two. I am VERY glad I didn’t need it in Santorini as we walked the donkey trail up and took the gondola down. Hi Crystal, well I am looking at the clothing I want to bring for my upcoming cruise and I will be checking a bag as I usually do and bringing a smaller carry on. I fly to New Jersey on Sat morning and sail on Sunday. I don't even know what I would cut back on and don't feel like I am even overpacking but I know it won't all fit in a carry on bag. And I am good with my decision.

Oh my, Lois, I hope I am not the Carry-On Police! (Carry-On Cheerleader I can accept.) My aunt (who is closer in age to me than to my mom) has travelled all over Europe and to South America, with several higher-end river and ocean trips. She travels with a (checked) 24" suitcase and some-sort of tote. She has a system that works for her, as you do for yourself. She knows where everything she has, is, and she can handle her own luggage in most situations, such as disembarking. Enjoy your cruise! I am intending travelling with just a roller carry-on and my handy tote bag for my next cruise (can't handle normal size suitcase on my own). It's actually for almost 3 weeks, but I'm thinking if I pack for one week, then I'll just repeat twice more. I don't care if anyone notices I've worn something before. I've seen numerous YouTube videos, but most of them seem to have much bigger carry-on luggage. I will be using a bag which conforms to European and international sizes and weight. Many of the videos I have seen are aimed at US travellers who seem to be allowed to bring much bigger (unweighed) bags on board. So, suggestions please. Criteria: Female, late 70's, haven't worn shorts for about 40 years, probably won't go in the pool, definitely won't go in a hot-tub/spa. Prefer trousers to skirts. Weather should be fairly average, not too hot or cold, but I will have a warm cardigan and pashmina for the flight, so can layer up if I need to. Any suggestions VERY gratefully received. Thank you 🐦 I’m your age! I wear on the plane Sketchers walking shoes, I pack a second pair to just wear on the ship. A third pair of dressy flip flops or sandals for evening. Speaking of evenings; thin printed Kimono’s are light weight enough to be worn over a basic anything. Pack a small brooch to pin the kimono in a different style. I’ve just come back from an 80 day cruise. Most importantly for me: Only pack what you love, feel good in and is comfortable. Otherwise you will feel the need to shop in a port to find that certain color of shirt you wished you had brought. On that note; Some ships have “ white night, Orange night” etc. adjust your packing to include a bit of something to fit the theme, however if you don’t want too, it won’t matter.I agree with a matching wrap, most ships have cold spots either in the MDR or the theater. Have fun!

Hi Crystal, well, my next vacation is a 7 day land trip to a resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with 6 other gals. This will be the first land trip I have taken in many years and guess what? I am not checking a bag. I will bring a carry on and a mid size tote bag. We will be touring almost every day and dinner in the evenings very casual. I will check the weather a fee days before leave but this trip will definitely be different. My girlfriend planning it all told me the resort has self serve laundry facilities. I really, really don't want to overpack but want to bring the right kind of clothes. I think 1 pair of black jeans and 1 pair of blue will alternate them for nights. Have to figure out daytime clothes. 3 pair of shoes....one for touring, one for nights and a pair of sandals for around my room. Anyway, from what I was told nobody is checking a bag for this trip. I leave on June 27th.

I don't own any dresses or skirts so that is not part of anything I would pack. As for shorts? I may pack 1 pair but I have lightweight cotton crop pants that I will be happier in.....I will check the weather before I pack and if I need a 2nd pair of shorts I can put them in as well. Oh the sandals I mentioned are VERY lightweight.
geocruiser Posted June 9 #120 Share Posted June 9 I have traveled with 2 small rolling (carry-ons) The reason for two is that when I took a back pack etc, it was so heavy when filled. So what ever was in the backpack I just put into and carry-on rolling case. I used the smallest on I could find that fit my stuff. I did not want to carry the bag, rolling was easier. As for the one with the clothing, I got clothing that was light weight and folded flat. I was surprised in what I could fit into the case. Even the room steward said to me when he saw my closet, "you fit all that in the one case". This was no princess where the walk in closet is open, no doors.

Threeboysmom333 Posted June 24 #122 Share Posted June 24 I'm a big fan of re-wearing outfits on a cruise. A dress that I wear to dinner with heels and jewelry can be worn again during day later that week with casual sandals or tennies. I pretty much plan on most tops, bottoms, & dresses to be worn twice (dinner then daytime) throughout the week.
