CruisinNana Posted June 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Is it possible to get a table for 9 in Blu? We are in 5 Aqua cabins and have reservations for dinner each night in the main dining room. Due to the fact that reservations are not allowed in Blu, we were afraid we couldn’t sit together in Blu at such a big table. We have paid for an Aqua cabins and hate to totally miss the Blu dining experience and we don’t want to split up. Any advice?
gold1953 Posted June 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) I know there is a table for 8 on Infinity which is also M class. We ate at it nightly on a 14 night cruise. It is a small dining room. If not a 4 and 5 beside each other and keep switching. Easier to talk to each other Don't miss Blu!! Totally agree 9 people you will not hear comversation and it will be noisy for other guests if you have to raise your voices to be heard . A 4 and 5 and switch around is the best way forward, ladies together one night etc . 1
wrk2cruise Posted June 2, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2023 These large groups in Blu and Luminae can be very disruptive to other passengers. Please sit at 2 smaller tables and switch. It will be better for all concerned. Generally if you discuss with the hostess and come about the same time each night you may be surprised to see "your" tables available. 2
Ex-Airbalancer Posted June 2, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Should be no problem, but don’t line up at 4:30 to get your table 😁
Rare 1025cruise Posted June 2, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2023 I would expect your MDR reservations to be canceled since your assigned MDR is Blu, not the MDR. On the first day, go speak with the Blu host and see what they can do to assist.

Totally agree We have been in Blu on one cruise that had a large group. They thought everyone in the Blu wanted to be included in their party. There was one female that was the life of the party. She would usually be the first in and always announce to everyone that she was here and let the party begin. She would greet everyone sitting at the table and make a spectacle of it. She talked loud and laughed louder. I don’t know how she was able to eat as she was constantly talking or laughing. To help you out talk to the host and let them know that you would like to have 2 tables or as not recommended one for 9. Give them a time that you will be dining and they will usually reserve it for you. Having 2 smaller tables wouldn’t have solved the problem with the above female as she would have carried on a conversation across the tables. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
jelayne Posted June 2, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Recently in Luminae on the Summit, which isn’t a large venue, there was a party of 8 that were quite loud, probably not intentionally but trying to hear from one end of the table to the other. They enjoyed their leisurely dinners lasting over 2 hours (6:30 ish to 9) and made Luminae unpleasant for most other guests. I hope you heed the suggestion to split into 2 tables and rotate seating at the tables.
mrgabriel Posted June 2, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 2, 2023 We have often seen large groups in Blu, but likely never more than 8. They are normally seated in the back section.
Rare hcat Posted June 2, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2023 our experience: large groups in back of BLU are noisy, disruptive, and take up lots of staff attention..Other guests avoid being near them resulting in it being more crowded up front....not pleasant. suggest you not dine as a "pack"..get 2 tables and switch around..no shouting needed for conversation and cross talk.

Even though it might look like you have reservations in the main dining room, you really don’t. If you are booked in an Aqua class room, your dining room assignment is BLU. cruiserchuck Posted June 2, 2023 #12 Share Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) In 2018, we had a group of 10 on Millennium in Blu. They sat us at the round table just to the right of the entrance door. The back part of the table had a couch, while the front of the table had chairs. It was tight for 10, but 9 should/could fit somewhat comfortably. Since it was a round table, we did not have to speak extra loud for others at the table to hear us, so hopefully we did not disturb other passengers.
