Ball caps at 75% of tables on most cruises.

Is than a guess, estimation or just a % thrown out there?  Have you even been on a Royal cruise lately?  And if so, why?  Haven't heard you mention much 'good' about them in quite a while.  You must be a real treat to cruise with.

This CC topic has become almost as good as the old smoking on the balcony post back in the day! 👀

Can we please talk about tipping???! 😂😂

I hear croc wearers tip better because of their relaxed attitude.

9 booked and 49 past. Jan B3B was a breaking point with new menus and Windjammer cut backs. Caused us to try different cruise lines for the first time in many years. I was never a cheerleader for Royal but just stating facts. The % is a fair estimate. Your mileage may very. As for cruising with me, I can put you on the waitlist.  😏

Only a few people on this thread have anything stuck in their craw.  They're just being quite vocal about it.

If you want to pretend that people still dress up for dinner like they’re on the Titanic, then be my guest.

Yes, so much better for someone to wear the same smelly, tattered pair of jeans every night to dinner for a week rather than some expensive shorts from Hugo Boss or Tommy Bahama. We’re all so tired of people believing they’re the arbiter of social etiquette and telling others how they should dress when they’re on vacation.

First, if you're actually reading what I've said, I haven't taken a strong side on this, so I'm hardly trying to be an "arbiter of social etiquette".

Second, why would jeans be smelly and tattered, whereas the shorts would be top-quality?

  1. Wearing simple pants is not dressing up.

True, pants are not "dressing up" in any way.

The worst I've seen was a group of women wearing thongs under mesh pants on our last cruise (paired with bikini tops).  I think most people would agree that was pretty far out of bounds for decency; if it'd been on the pool deck it might've been acceptable.  Modesty aside, it wasn't even remotely attractive.

Or the guy entering the MDR looking like a million dollars escorting his partner wearing her daisy dukes and a halter top. Just saying...

I have not observed either of these mismatches.  I have seen teenagers in hoodies while their parents were dressed nicely.

Were you on that cruise? 😳

You do realize you posted on an RCI message board, right?

It actually doesn’t matter, anymore.  These days - “old norm”; “new norm”; everyone is extremist if one doesn’t agree with “them”; also, everyone is “dismissed”; “left”; “right”; “wrong”; “outraged”; “vocal”; “viral”; “baselessly stated”; “abused”.  Basically, it is George Carlin all over again!

Cruising is goooooooood!!!

Voyage, Voyage!!!

The cruise where everyone in the MDR wore smelly jeans and ball caps?  No, I don't sail Hyperbole of the Seas.  🤣🤣🤣

You are confusing posts and posters, Mum. I never talked about smelly jeans. However ball caps are prolific on some cruises.

I am amazed at the number of folks who wear flip flops that are unsafe and can be bad for the feet.

I also do not want to see men's knee caps in the evening and especially with sandals or flip flops.

Just lazy and rude to not wear long pants especially if you have ugly legs and gnarley toenails.   yuk

LMAO. Never heard of anyone having such an aversion to knee caps before.

Thanks for taking an already absurd thread to a new level.

Don’t visit warm weather states like Florida. You’ll see knees galore at very nice restaurants. And, gasp, maybe even some toes! 😱

Are skinny legs ugly? Asking for a friend.

I could care less what everyone else wears. However, I will agree flip flops can be dangerous. I caught one on a stair at home, fell (flew) about 6 steps, struck my head on the hardwood floor at the bottom of the stairs.  Got a nice deep slit in my head above my eyebrow. Hello Emergency Room and plastic surgeon. So, move cautiously. 🙂 🩴🩴

What about the flats that women wear all the time in the MDR.  Same as flip flops.   But those are ok.

I don't care if they wear flip flops or flats or high heels or sneakers (I am a woman). Just relating my experience with flip flops, which was scary.

75%?  No. Way.  And no, I wasn't on the cruise.  Just like you didn't see that many caps.
