We were in a balcony cabin. I will assume the trial is over and not implemented to be the new standard as I have not seen any other posts mention getting bottle waters automatically, especially since this sailing, they ran out! I board Emerald tomorrow and have Premier pkg, so will find out, maybe that is why they ran out of the small bottles ? XBGuy Posted July 21, 2023 #452 Share Posted July 21, 2023 1 hour ago, Cruise Raider said: they had a lunch offered in the Crown Grill and once in Sabatini’s, both on sea days. I wish they would do that more often but I understand that crew may not be available. Thanks for the update. This idea of opening up Crown Grill or Sabatini's for lunch is interesting. What was the menu like--same as the dining room or unique? Was there a cover charge, or was it complimentary? I agree that if the menu was the same as the dining rooms, then adding a cover charge would be discouraging. If they offered unique menu items that were prepared a la minute, a modest cover charge might be reasonable.
mikjr Posted July 21, 2023 #453 Share Posted July 21, 2023 My only complaint so far is the room condition. Bed is horrible. We were on the Sapphire 3 months ago and the bed was fabulous. They obviously have not updated the interiors of the Emerald cabins in a long time. Bed table and lamps are horrible! As for the food, I have no complaints. After cruising for over 20 years, i’ve learned what to order and what to stay away from. We also like Celebrity but they’ve pulled out of the Los Angeles area for a temporary and if we want to take a Celebrity Cruises we need to go to San Diego. We rarely fly these days, so we are limited to local ports.

Btw, our Room Steward was AMAZING!
Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 21, 2023 Author #455 Share Posted July 21, 2023 After shopping for sandals for our granddaughter (Debbie couldn't help herself, she bought 3 pairs), we stopped for lunch. It was great as always! Hand made tortillas. Debbie had the Cheese Enchiladas I had the Chile Rellenos Big flea market set-up in front of the Malecón. 10

Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 21, 2023 Author #458 Share Posted July 21, 2023 @PacnGoNow We have never had an issue walking through the town during the day. It may be a different story at night. We saw at least a dozen soldiers armed with automatic rifles on various street corners. @phabric The flea market that was right off the ship is no more. It is now an easy 10 minute walk from the ship. I took this picture right in front of the flea market. 3

Yes, or could be the crew deck before unloading the bags to the terminal. Crew member would have taken it. Or, a fake? Take care. All good things come to an end. But, not for long. 😀

Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 22, 2023 Author #467 Share Posted July 22, 2023 Disembarking was a breeze with facial recognition for passport holders. We are half-way home already at 8:15 am. It was a fun trip! Until the next time (Nov 12th, Enchanted, Med/TA). ¡Adios! 6

We always eat local cuisine off the ship too and just another one of the reasons we cruise. We are looking to rebook this one when schedules allow.

Home at 10am. 103 degrees here and 83 inside the home. Going back to the Emerald in one week. Lunch was fantastic and really enjoyed your company. Hogladyrider Posted July 22, 2023 #471 Share Posted July 22, 2023 @LACruiser88... I have REALLY enjoyed following along your cruise review. We do our first cruise to Hawaii on HAL this coming January. Question regarding Ensenada......your lunch location looked yummy. I am always hesitate to eat off the ship, how would you rate the place you had lunch at. This will be our first visit to Ensenada and that looks like a nice way to enjoy ourselves. Thanks in advance. Purplsmurf Posted July 23, 2023 #474 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Thank you so much for this report! We are doing Hawaii on the Sapphire in October so it was very helpful. We are Celebrity cruisers so this will be only our second cruise ever on Princess……Just hope the weather is warm for our sea days!

Our room steward explained the combination of a longer cruise and families traveling together created a lot more luggage than usual. The good news was they seem to get the luggage off the ship very quickly. I did not experience any delay at the port getting our luggage.
