Princess Plus Package on first day of cruise?

It depends on which/when PLUS package you have.  We have PLUS50(no desserts, no fitness), so it would cost us $30 pp pd to upgrade to Premier

Is it possible to re-fare without Plus so that you could use OBC on first day?

I was going to ask poster same thing.  Can they delete the Plus and "fall back" to Standard without possibly losing their current fare quote if better than today's pricing?

Before the casino started gifting us the Plus Fare Package, I would always buy the Soda And More Package on the first day (when we were eating lunch on Embarkation Day).  I never got any kind of discount from (or price increase from) the pre-cruise price.

I didn't ask for the $10. Someone thought it was a refund for shipping of the medallion. 

 

I doubt they are giving any discounts. This is not something Princess does with things compared to other lines (discounts on dinners, etc..).

I asked my ta that... her answer was no.  Saying that, our cruise is more now for standard than we paid for plus.

I tried to upgrade from Plus to Premier yesterday and my TA said he would need to re-fare. I’d go from $200 OBC to $50 OBC. Don’t understand why they can’t just charge me the difference.

I thought we could bump up to Premier without refaring.  In any case, @lhsail, you can do that upgrade on the ship.  Do it the day you get on board and go to Guest Services (GS).  It may be offered via the App as well (not sure).  Note that by delaying until you board, you can use up OBC to pay for it.

There will be lots of crew walking around asking you to upgrade to premier.

You’ll see crew walking around and the piazza area selling the package and doing upgrades on the first day.

When you go into you cruise Personalizer, does it give you the option to upgrade to premier and the price?

 

I just booked an on board 50% off promo fare while I was on the a Sapphire and have Plus. When I go to my Personalizer it says to contact Us or TA to inquire about upgrade to Premier instead of wording saying fare is $80 day and click button for pricing.

 

For another booking I had, I could upgrade on the Personalizer from Plus to Premier, click the button to get the price and then click to enter my credit card info to be charged, I did upgrade, and immediately I saw the updated amenities in my travel summary.

Somehow I had missed this. Thank you for your kind instruction. I see where I can upgrade it myself.

We purchased Premier on day 1 and we each got $10 off the price of the package, not 10%.  I asked about the $10 discount and was told it was a refund since they didn't have to ship the medallion.

Sounds like the shipping fee, whether you paid it or not, seems to just be programmed to refund it to you.  🤣

Same here. I think it was the shipping fee even though I didn't have it shipped either.

I considered taking Princess gift cards I bought at a discount on AARP to Passenger Services the first day and upgrading the first segment of our upcoming cruises but changed my mind. I went to our TA and had him do the upgrade as the Plus package is a commissionable item and I wanted him to get the extra commission.

 

Note: I asked my TA to be sure he had my credit card on file (I was pretty sure he did) and he said yes, he did have it. I told him I was asking because the gift cards I gave him were $80 short of the required amount to change that 24 day segment from Standard Fare to Plus Fare. I never did get charged that $80... I'm guessing he covered it out of his increased commission. 😉

This is what I have been reading.  IDK why PCL is giving couples back $20 when it would only cost $10 had the guests ordered Medallions.

@Thrak  were you able to upgrade using more than one gift card after being paid in full?  I didn't know if it could be done using a combo of gift cards so if it can, that's great to know.
