DaveOKC Posted July 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I fax in a request for stockholder credit and asked for an email response to be certain I got it. This is day 4 and nothing yet. In the past the response was 1-2 days normally. Yesterday I received an updated invoice on my booking and it was not showing there. What is everyone else experiencing on this?

What is everyone else experiencing on this? It has taken us up to a week. We have some advice (prompted by our own excellent cruise agent). We changed from using Fax to sending an e-mail and attaching the supporting documents as PDF files. You might want to resend using this method. This advice came right after the restart because many employees were working from home and sometimes Faxes sat in an empty office. The other advice (which comes from our own experience) is to make a hard copy (print) of your request (including the proof of stock ownership) and take it along on the cruise. If the credit does not show-up in your onboard account within the first few days of the cruise, simply visit Guest Relations with the documents and ask them to please deal with the issue. DaveOKC Posted July 21, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted July 21, 2023 Thanks Hank for the good advice. I was wondering if going the email route would be better, but I did the fax as it was easier for me (I have a form letter that I use). I agree that a paper copy is also a good idea - I do this for most items on a cruise and have found it very helpful in the past.
SJSULIBRARIAN Posted July 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I faxed yesterday and normally I have gotten a response the same day but so far nothing. Is the fax # still 206-270-6080
Ichiban Nekko Posted July 21, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I recently sent in two requests via email with PDF attached. One response arrived the following day; the second one was responded to on the same day! Attached is a copy of the CCL Shareholder Benefit information for all the lines valid on sailings through July 2024, with contact info. -Cat CCL Shoreholder Benefit to 7:2024.pdf
Rare Mary229 Posted July 21, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I emailed on a casino offer as you suggested. It did take longer than my non-casino sailings.

Let us know if you get the credit on a casino offer, as many of us have been denied. Was it a casino free (or heavily discounted) cabin or a casino discount (10-30%)?
spkack Posted July 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2023 We've had similar response as Ichiban Nekko. Email always works for us and we typically receive a response within 24 hours.

Hank Yes, take hard copy with you. If you go the email route, print the email as well as the stock proof, so that you can show that you did make the request. HAL has never failed to give us the credit, but best to be prepared. In the past, I have used an online fax service. Now that they're accepting emails, it's better. I just requested shareholder OBC on Cunard and got a reply to my email the same day.
dchip Posted July 21, 2023 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I emailed my info on 7/5. Received a confirmation email on 7/6. The letter states the OBC will be added at embarkation. Happy cruising!
canadianbear Posted July 21, 2023 #12 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I guess I lucked out. I emailed my proof mid June for 2 upcoming cruises and had the confirmation back within 20 minutes for both.
Rare Haljo1935 Posted July 21, 2023 #13 Share Posted July 21, 2023 Recently took about 2 days to receive the confirmation from my email submission then another 3 days received email saying how much had been applied to which bookings.
HARLEYBOYPUG Posted July 21, 2023 #14 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I'm wanting to purchase the 100 shares of stock for the OBC. My finance guy had a question. " May want to make sure ownership via an IRA counts. I've seen promos like that before with a company but it had to be in their stock purchase plan. " Can anyone answer this for me? No. They probably don’t even have one of those. Those are relics and very few companies have those anymore

NightOne Posted July 21, 2023 #20 Share Posted July 21, 2023 I have not e-mailed for my shareholder credit yet but I did e-mail them to transfer my booking to a TA and it has been 10 business days and they still have not got it done. Not impressed with their turnaround times. Our first HAL cruise and lets hope it is better than the pre-cruise shoreside interactions. :
DaveOKC Posted July 21, 2023 Author #21 Share Posted July 21, 2023 Update - just received my email confirmation after 4 days of my faxed request. Also, IMO I put our CCL stock in a joint stock account we have - that way either one of us could claim it
Midwest Sunseeker Posted July 21, 2023 #22 Share Posted July 21, 2023 Ours is under my husbands IRA. My husband blocks out the account # and other information on his Brokerage Statement. They would not be able to see what kind of account it is.

Your TA should be able to supply it.
