Bahamas port fees and tax increase

So for example, if you are on Utopia 4 night going to both  Nassau and then CoCo Cay and are already booked, your rate will  increase $60 for that cruise?

Every cruise is different even if it goes to the same ports.  Sometimes port fees and taxes are applied per person, other times it is by the ship so depending on the number of passengers on the ship it can vary.

In all the notifications that I received there was not one for Utopia.  Either it was omitted or more likely they already factored in the new taxes as Utopia just went on sale, they have know about this tax increase for a while now.

Keep checking 👍🏻

Still NO emails for any of ours (Jan Apr July 2024)

and I have seen people post for May and August 2024 saying they have emails

Granted two of them are paid in full

Maybe we are exempt from the tax 😳

mine is a casino offer and is also paid in full…

Very strange! I got the price increase email with a listing of our upcoming cruise on Adventure next March. Taxes are going up $9 in total. Here is the strange part - WE ARE NOT GOING TO ANY BAHAMAS PORTS! Cruise goes to Haiti, D.R., St. Thomas and St. Croix! Why did we get the email and why the Bahama tax increase on a cruise that does not sail to the Bahamas?

Thanks! I am sorry you have such an increase. It seems very strange yours is so high and some are getting refunds.

Mine went up 188 for 3 if us,  63.0 pp...I do not understand the math...Some get refunds, some see 10%, some see a couple odlf extra dollars.. and we see a huge increase

My email for our Allure cruise in April going to Coco Cay and Nassau shows the taxes and fees going down by a total of $16.96. However, when I look at my current balance due on the website there is no drop showing in the price there.🤷‍♀️🫤  Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

They said they would be adjusting the invoices in stages based on departure dates.

It would seem they are not going strictly in date order based on some people reporting adjustments for cruises sailing several months later than others for whom those cruisers have not yet received their adjustments.

Is this what you're seeing?

I was thinking the same thing.  My first one is end of January (already paid in full) so I guess I should be hearing something shortly

have they actually been adjusting though or is that just people getting the e mails?

E mails and adjustments are two separate events

Ah, didn't realize that, thanks. My booked cruises are pretty far out and I try not to bother my TA too much so didn't ask. 😁

Pretty sure that the TA is relaxing this weekend and will start sending those notices out early in the week

Yes that is what it will be adjusted too but the adjustments will be done separately.  This was the original e mail.  after the email I had hundreds of sailings listed with the amounts that will eventually be adjusted

Thank you for that info, Ken.It’s not a whole lot of money for us so I’m not going to drive myself crazy looking but I will check  periodically. The new rate already shows up when doing a dummy booking.
