Bahamas port fees and tax increase

Our fully paid Odyssey cruise in January 2024 just had the taxes raised by $40.90 and the only Bahamas stop is Cococay. (According to the e-mail I just received) So we are having to pay an extra $20.45 pp to go to the “private island” and I guess we are no longer fully paid. :(

I got the letter and have a 4.00 refund coming to me on Allure in January.

Yes, now I think the $30.65 might be for two!  I’m still wondering if there is a double charge for cruises visiting both Nassau & Coco Cay.

I have 2 upcoming cruises. One $ went down a couple dollars and the other only went up $12.

Luckily Nassau isn't one of our port stops...not a favorite.

This is an upcoming casino comped cruise on Wonder. Being a casino comp cruise, it's been paid in full already. Is it going to open up and become available to pay the 8 cents (or 16 cents)? Lol

I also have a casino booking that is paid in full and my email says the same.

It wouldn't shock me in the slightest if Royal marked my reservation as not paid in pull and canceled it over 8 cents 😂

That is my biggest fear!!!!  I guess we will have to just keep checking!!  I cannot imagine having to do a credit card charge for 8 freaking cents!!!😳😳

Our Dec 28, 2024 cruise on Oasis went up $73 a head. There are 5 of us. A little bit of an ouch, but still happy to be sailing.

8 of us are going on a Freedom 4 night cruise June 2024 Bahamas cruise, both Coco Cay and Nassau are on the itinerary.  Ouch!

I get that it’s an increase and no one likes that but as a percentage of the overall cost of the cruise it’s very small. RCs increases in fares are many multiples of this and people pass it off as ‘the price of everything is going up’ .

It's funny most of my sails going to late 2024 it's averaging $10+ pp.

No idea why so much variation. It’s a Southern Caribbean sailing with only 1 Bahamian stop on Coco Cay.

Below is my increase. I'm not very good at math, but I think that's roughly a 10% increase. And I have 2 rooms, so I'm in ~$60... Good times! LOL!
