On July 7, 2019, near the beginning of 67 days on Veendam, we were docked in Iraklion.  After seeing the Minoan ruins on Santorini, we wanted to see the Palace of Knossos.  We took the shuttle to the drop off point, then the city bus out to the Palace.  I hope none of these pictures are an actual repeat, just a different view.  The more I think about it, we took the city bus not the shuttle.

Sorry about the extra people in this picture.  I got tired of waiting for people to let me get a clear shot.

We took the city bus back into town and visited the museum with all the items taken from the Palace.  It was very hot that day, and the bus was packed like a sardine can, so the air conditioned museum felt good.

The museum contains most of the artifacts from the ruins, but I decided to pick two of the mosaics to show you.

Happy Monday. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

It is supposed to be stormy today. I will be celebrating friendship, both in persons and online.

Fancy had her first bath yesterday. She was a very good dog and made the process very easy for us. Later she was naughty and got into the trash and stole the empty sausage wrapper. She loves running around outdoors. She is keeping me on my toes for sure.

Working from home today. Lots to keep me busy.

Thinking of everyone on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning. It is pouring on and off and will do so all day. I had two very wet doggies to dry off earlier. I will salute the light houses and International Forgiveness as well as Beach Party Day. I love  moussaka but have only one other in the group who shares my opinion. It is a fair amount of work to assemble and the recipes look very tasty. The port looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for the pictures so far.

Today DH and I must travel to an MD appointment and hope the storms are in our favor this afternoon. The weather people show that red area right on top of us for that time but I am hoping it holds off.

I enjoy seeing the pictures and commentary from @dfish  and @StLouisCruisers. Thanks for staying in touch with us while on your travels.

Good morning to all. It is a rainy day here in Bluffton, S

Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report.

I like the Days to celebrate.  I will go with your original post, even if they are from yesterday.

Forgiveness is very important.  It does more for the person who is offended than the offender.  It does not mean we have to forget.

Where would we be without friends?  And I love lighthouses.

I will skip the meal and wine.  However the drink sounds like something I might try.

Today i have to get in toudh with the Termite people and see if they will honor the bond even if we are late.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

DH and I have to finalize our wishes to update our wills.  We have an appointment with the attorney tomorrow.  Been trying to get this done for a while.

Prayers for everyone on the list, especially Baby Murphy.  Hopefully the surgeon has some answers for the parents today.

Prayers for @mamaofami’s DH Sam, that he recovers from the brain bleed.

@smitty34877 I hope all goes well with DH’s appointment today.  Hope he starts getting an appetite soon.

Prayers for all on the list and those who are not that need prayers as well.

Cheers to thos celebrating and cruising.

Still trying to decide whether we should continue planning the trip to Italy and the transatlantic or to scrap it.  Not sure this is in our best interest.  Just seems like it may be too much for DH.  Yet he seems that it would be okay.  We will see.

Hope everyone has a good day.

God Bless,

Terri

Good Monday Morning Dailyites!

@smitty34877What a great picture of the every day more beautiful Camilla.

Currently the temperature is 75, but every time the 2 minute news comes on (every 30 minutes), our local weather dude says we have the possibility of strong storms and severe weather today.  I saw the map, I think it might be more than a possibility...

Yesterdays storms were nice, and with the streets as wet as they are now, it seems that it rained more in the night.

On the googly news I saw that they have released the winter weather forecast, the Old Farmers Almanac and the new one differ, but it will do what it wants to do.  Penny and I did our own weather prediction for winter yesterday.  We both predict a cold snowy winter for the south.  If we are right, we want to take over weather predictions on the news..ha!

Good Morning from a vert warm and sunny day at the beach

Havent had rain in a few days, storms are all around us but not here. The ocean temperature is very warm, so if we get a hurricane, we are in deep dudu.

Another successful Spacex launch last nite.

I love lighthouses. Friendship is very important  and forgiveness is hard but necessary. The quote is so very true.

@Mr. Boston  Enjoy your first day of retirement. Soon, you will wonder how you had time to work!

@smitty34877 I cant believe the picture of Miss Camilla. Amazing. Hope all goes well with DHs appointment.

Great pictures of todays port. Thanks for posting.

Off to water aerobics. Have not gone in a long time but now that I am cleared I will return. Going to do low impact. Dont want to mess anything up!

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning everyone. My DH gets another CAT scan today to see if his brain bleed has resolved or is resolving. If yes,he will be discharged to a rehab. This has been very anxiety producing for me.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Lighthouses are always thought of being very tranquill, most of the time. But onetime during my service in the Coast Guard I was on duty at the lifeboat station in Chicago. There is a lighthouse that was manned back then at Chicago Harbor with access only by boat. Three personnel would be on duty two weeks on and one week off in a rotating schedule. It made for strange conditions as you were physically isolated in sight of the second largest city in the US. Every hour we we would contact them by radio for an update, basically making sure they were okay. I was on the mid-watch onetime when the one man on duty came back on the radio speaking some gibberish. He was having a mental crisis. We had him wake the other man that he thankfully did. At first light we removed him and I assume off for a mental evaluation. I felt sorry for the Seaman that was chosen arbitrarily to replace him as the lighthouse needed to be manned.

Are you in an aft balcony Debbie?.

We sit for hours on our aft balcony looking at the ships wake.

i don't think Zaandam has aft balconies.  It is all public space available to anyone.

Good Morning, thanks for today’s daily fleet report.  This week I’m doing four ten hour days. Thankfully today is a work at home day.  It’s been a rough start after tall the yard work that I did over the weekend.  I’d give today’s meal suggestion a try if I could have a sample.  It’s very humid with the promise of storms later in the day.  Wishing everyone a good Monday.

Good morning Dailyites.

Just finishing some chores and put a pot roast in the crockpot. Oliver is eating his turkey jerky next to me, crunching away. @Denise T today Oliver gets his first bath. I hope he's as good as Fancy was for you.

Terry what a beautiful picture of Camilla! That is frame worthy.

Prayers to all on our list. Thank you Vanessa for keeping everything straight. Thanks to @0106 , Dixie, and Ann for your contributions to F & B department.

Baby Murphy,  I'm thinking of you and hope the surgeon has some good news for you.  Hugs for sweet "S".

Forgiveness is at times difficult, especially when the person you are trying to forgive doesn't apologize.

@Mr. Boston Enjoy your first day of retirement. It took me awhile to not wake up looking at the clock and thinking I was late for work.

Love and blessings to my Daily friends. Have a great day!

And it is another dry sunny day in Durango. But cooler. The temperature when Bandit, Monty and I went out this morning was 45F. Felt good. High today forecast for the mid-80's but I think it will probably hit the 90 degree mark. I love moussaka but am way too lazy to make it. Would love to go back to today's port... it has been many years ago.

I wound up taking it very easy yesterday despite my best intentions. So today I will throw myself back into the sorting and associated activities. Right now I am concentrating on what can go into the dumpster and be mailed to scottie rescue. I am holding off on the thrift store since they are having problems getting people to sort. Maybe I need to do that for awhile.

Anyway.... my positive thoughts to all and especially hoping to hear good news of baby Murphy.

Remember.... your feet belong firmly on the ground. My DS called yesterday to tell me that one of her neighbors had fallen and fractured her patella .... seems to be getting all too common these days. She (DS) is leaving for the beach with her son and daughter and other family in few days.... I will be relieved that she will be around other people for awhile.
