One question, it has my husbands name for both packages on one cruise and my name for both packages on the second cruise. Guessing this is just part of the glitch as well?

Yes. That wouldn't work even if they did honor it.

The drink package is now available for purchase on the website for the correct amount.  Our reduced price drink package is still showing on our cruise manager page.  Hoping they will honor it but will be buying it regardless of price.

Mine is still there also with my name on both packages. Does it always have the name the booking is under, or should it have my name and my wife's name?

According to John Heald, they will refund the 1 day price and offer a one time use discount code.  So they are not going to honor what was an obvious computer error.

Oh well. My record of never getting Cheers will remain intact. I doubt any discount will make it worthwhile for us to purchase. But it was fun for a while.

I wonder if anyone purchased it for a cruise leaving today?

I didn't think it was going to stick. Did he mention how much of a discount it would be? I wonder if we have a certain timeframe to use it to rebook Cheers or can we hold onto it until closer to cruise time (which is when I usually book Cheers).

The IT issue related to Cheers! sales on Carnival.com has been resolved. The price per day was correctly displayed but the calculation in the checkout cart was in error. All guests who booked this this glitch will get a refund of their purchase and a one-time discount code should they wish to repurchase.
Thank you.

Has carnival ever given a discount code before on the drink package? Just wondering what kind of discount we might get

Back during the Covid shutdown they offered a discounted Cheers program as a way to generate revenue. But I believe since the shutdown lasted longer than they had thought they ended up refunding all the money, including us. If I recall correctly it was 10% or 20% off.

Now that i think about it, I dont recall if it was a refund or if they gave the option of them holding the money and converting it to FCC/OBC for future cruises. Perhaps someone with a better memory than me can recall. I havent taken Ginkgo Biloba in a while.

I wonder how they are going to issue the discount to keep those who did not buy the bogus Cheers.  If there is a code, what would keep anyone from using it?  It'll be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

Its probably a unique, one time use code. It would have to be to keep everyone booked on every cruise between now and 2025 fron using it.

The 2 times I've had cheers it was part of the rate. A little higher rate, and the rate dropped maybe $300 if you had a regular rate, so as it turned out wasnt much if any deal. But I got to try it.

It's been a while since I've seen it as part of the rate.

Ahh yes. The old RU2 rate code. I remember those. Its weird how in life sometimes small, mundane details stick with you like that.

The last several cruises and our next 4 cruises we were lucky enough to get one of those awesome casino deals with Drinks on Us everywhere on the ship for my better half. So we end up only needing to buy one Cheers package for me.

This almost seems like the classic bait and switch car dealers use 😉

Carnival IT isn't that good. A conspiracy theory I'm waiting on is Carnival wants to survive off the float of a few thousand Cheers packages.

Not survive off the float, but entice more people into buying cheers with the discount code they are going to provide in lieu of the too good to be true one day price that everyone soaked up. But you are correct, it is probably just the usual incompetence of Carnival at work here.

Seems like there are still problems with the site.  Went to purchase the steakhouse for our October cruise and the price was well over what it should have been so I removed it from my cart.  (Of course I would be the one who gets the opposite of a good glitch, lol.)  Also, there are very few excursions listed for each of the four cruises I have booked.

I agree. There is still an issue. My cruise in March now has only 24 excursions showing. There was 90+ lat week. The cruise cash is messed up also. You can buy cruise cash but not bar cash or photo cash.
