Diamond Voucher Tipping in MDR

Hi everyone,

When using a diamond voucher for a drink in the MDR (same table and waiters each night, not My Time dining) do you tip the assistant waiter who brings it at the time he/she brings the drink or do you add it to the extra tip you give them at the end of the cruise? Just curious as to how others have handled this.

Thanks!

Although I still give extra at the end of the cruise, I tip each time someone brings me a drink. Whether D+ voucher or casino Prime, I always throw in a couple bucks. That's me, but I don't judge otherwise.

Examples of out of control tipping.

Only encourages  low wages and passes it onto the consumer.

Reign it in folks.

I prefer to think that I'm contributing to the good of 3rd world countries. It doesn't pain me at all to tip on a free drink. I appreciate good service.

I tip on the last night. I don’t want to stop eating to get money out of my purse, that’s awkward for me.

Ditto, except for the purse part.  I tip my waiter and asst. waiter at the end.  They will be well taken care of then so I don't see a need to pull out a couple of bucks every time they bring me a drink.

why don’t you get the $$ out in readiness in the time between ordering wine and wine delivery 🤷‍♀️

The waiter and assistant waiter both get generous tips on the last night of the cruise. This is the way I have always done it. Besides who wants to touch money when you’re eating… It’s full of germs. I am not a germaphobe but just think about all the hands that touch those bills.

these threads....I cannot believe how much others shame another for not prescribing to their tipping beliefs time and time again.  I honestly dont care what you tip on land or onboard.  Its simply absurd.

Dont tip. Already built into the drinks.

If theyre diamond, thats a reward for spending many dollars on drinks in the past.

All that drink money from the past went to Royal and not the crew member helping you now.
