Good Morning to All and thanks for the daily and fleet reports.  I am a big fan of candy corn and do eat them one color at a time.  I hope no mischief happens today/tonight and I try checklists but usually they end up being incomplete.  I spit out my coffee laughing when I read the quote, pass on the meal (though I do like chickpeas but with pumpkin AND coconut?), pass on the drink, maybe on the wine, and I have never been to Belfast.  I saw the Bosphorus Bridge when I visited Istanbul over 10 years ago.  Amazing!!

This morning I think is the coolest we have been this fall.  I woke up to 48F and it will climb up to a nice mid 70s.  Off to do choir and theatre today.  Funny though, I got an email this morning from a teacher I had subbed for before asking if I could sub today for her.  Oh well, but it was a nice feeling to be asked.  I am hoping my doc reviews the xray I had done on Friday for my leg numbness.  He might be out but another doc is covering for him.  Fingers crossed he/she orders an MRI.

Thoughts for the world and those on the care list.  Cheers for those celebrating.

Have a great start to the week everyone!

Good morning. It was pouring earlier but seems to have stopped. It is 54 going up to 60 later.

We went to Belfast on a British Isles cruise on the Prinsendam. My DB and  DSIL were with us and we had a great time. The Titanic Museum was crowded but very interesting. I enjoyed the ride but DH was grumbling. Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for the pictures. It was so sad to see the graffiti on the walls dividing sections of the city.
I will pass on the food and the days today. I am not sure what I am making for dinner but I better get a plan in place. There is a lot to do everyday and I try  to stay organized but  things can get in the way.
Very happy to hear about baby Murphy’s  progress. And  cruise planning for @dfish, Debbie. I highly recommend a Hawaii cruise. I just loved every minute.

Take care everyone.

Good morning folks.  Thanks for the daily updates.  The candy corn has been disappearing from the candy dish all month.  We called it Devil’s Night when we were young and I can honestly say I haven’t soaped a window since I was ten.  A rainy Monday is a great day for working on a checklist.  The quote is making me think too much, how else would you have known you called the wrong number if I hadn’t answered it and told you so?  See, that hurt.  The meal might appeal to some today, but not me.  I could do the drink or the wine though.  I was in Belfast some years back for a close friend’s 50th birthday party but no photos.  The Titanic museum was very interesting and sobering.  I remember the hotel breakfast buffet had whiskey next to the pot of oatmeal that you could add for a kick start!  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list and for those who are in need.  Cheers to those of you celebrating happy events today!

Almost a year later, on August 12, 2017, the Prinsendam again docked in Belfast.  This time, we'd reserved a rental car and picked it up at the dock.  Our plan that day was to head to Bushmills and tour the Old Bushmills Distillery.

Before the tour began, we gathered in their pub.  Evidently, I didn't take any pictures in the distillery.

While aboard the Amsterdam in 2019, we docked in the destination of the day, Belfast, Northern Ireland.  We didn’t really see Belfast since our excursion concentrated on Saint Patrick.  We took a bus to Downpatrick, which was about an hour’s ride.  We visited the Saint Patrick Center, which included a 20 minute presentation on the life of Saint Patrick.  We then went to the nearby Down Cathedral, where Saint Patrick is “purportedly” buried.  A large stone supposedly covers his burial spot.  We returned to the town center of Downpatrick, where we had lunch at Murphy’s Pub.  Next we visited Saul Church, the first ecclesiastical site in Ireland.  After riding a ferry across Strangford Lough, we stopped briefly at the remains of an old stone windmill, which had expansive views of the water.  Our last stop was at Grey Abbey, founded in 1193.  This abbey has the distinction of being the only one on the island of Ireland to be founded by a woman.IMG_3674.thumb.jpeg.f3c40031d402dfbf9741a67a7651ad44.jpeg

Good morning, everyone!

We got our hopes up over Hawaii yesterday, but it turns out that the dates don't work for me.  So, back to the drawing board.  I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, so we may do just the Hawaii portion.  And the driveway can crumble.  It will get fixed eventually.  Nothing else on the agenda.  Neighbors tell us that we won't get trick or treaters here because there are no sidewalks and no street lights.  I'm going to pick up a bag of baby candy bars just in case.  We're hoping our niece brings the littles by for a treat and the people next door are bringing their little guy by.

Today's meal is most likely very flavorful, but not for me.  The carbs would be very high between the chickpeas and the rice you put it over.  I could use riced cauliflower, but DS Sue says she hates chickpeas.  This first recipe is vegan for those who need to accommodate that need.   https://www.emilieeats.com/chickpea-pumpkin-coconut-curry-vegan/

chickpeapumpkincurry1.thumb.jpg.fc475e699d1fa17df5d85b692a9605d2.jpg

This next recipe includes a few other vegetables and cubes the pumpkin instead of using a pumpkin puree.  There are some good health benefits to pumpkin.  https://www.aheadofthyme.com/pumpkin-chickpea-coconut-curry/

chickpeapumpkincurry2.jpg.a7ecf9169721cae9f9274f939c4f9c71.jpg

This next one has a little heat in it and a lot of information on how to make the dish, substitutions you can make, and what kind of pumpkin to use.  https://www.averiecooks.com/thai-pumpkin-chickpea-coconut-curry/

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  If candy corn was the only candy in our house, it would still go stale - chocolate, on the other hand . . .   We don't have Mischief Night in Canada, at least not on the prairies.  I do have checklists and consult them when we travel.  I also make grocery lists but usually forget them on the kitchen table, so I've taken to doing a photo of them so I've got the list on my phone in case the original doesn't make it out of the house.

Yesterday was a grey day where the sun never even made an appearance; today looks to be chilly, but the sunshine will make it seem nicer.  Today we have to take the furniture from the front entrance and put it away for the season.  I've got to find the large garbage bags to contain the cushions, while the frames will be stored under the deck.  It's best to get those things out of the way before the trick-or-treaters come tomorrow.  Speaking of that, yesterday DH and I went out and bought a few things so I could make special bags for the neighbourhood kiddles.  The bags will hold the usual chocolate bars, rockets, potato chips and sipping straws, in addition to little Halloween craft kits they can make in the coming days.

I'm sure I'd like the wine, will take a pass on the drink, and giving a solid nope to the menu suggestion.  DH doesn't care for anything in it, and the only part I'd enjoy would be the coconut!  Our new air fryer/oven arrived while we were in Calgary, so DH and I unboxed it yesterday and found room for it on the kitchen counter.  We are going to try the Ninja 12 in one 2 door air fryer and I'm going to be cooking salmon in the top and asparagus and baked potatoes in the bottom that we hopefully will enjoy at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone in need, especially those suffering losses of family or friends in Maine, and for the innocents involved in wars.  Cheers to all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Good morning all!

No thanks to the candy corn.  I'll always choose chocolate and if candy corn was the only choice, it would go into the garbage. 😉 Not sure if we have mischief night here, and I have a huge checklist for the GA. Slowly things are getting done. Pass on the meal, wine and drink.  Once I got a wrong number call and the person had the gall to ask who I was!  I asked "Who are YOU"?  So the quote reminded me of that.  Now I just don't answer if I don't recognize the number/name.  Thanks for all the photos of Belfast!  We've been to Ireland but not Belfast.

Today is recuperation day after having our little whirlwind DGS here.  He wanted to stay another day, glad he had a good time!  We did too, but there's only so much we can take lol.  His brother is feeling much better, so it was a 24-hour thing.  He slept half the day away and now his fever is gone.  Hopefully they will both be here for an overnight on the 9th.

We have only 2 more days of sunshine, and then the rain will start .... and go on and on.  But warmer temps with the cloud cover.

Prayers for all on the Care List and cheers for all who are celebrating!

Brrrr from Kansas,

It is still in the 20’s at 9 AM. With the wind it feels a lot colder. This is a bit early but we have had snow storms in October before. Molly finally relented and went out to potty. She will get used to it. Good reminder from Jacqui to put in a scraper/brush in the car. I went out and did it when I read your post.

The play yesterday was very good. Richard Thomas (John Boy Walton) was Atticus Finch. Of course, there were two very tall people in front of my very short self.  I had to sit at a weird angle to see the play.

My DH was a list maker. That is something I never got into. I guess I would rather panic at the end to see if I got everything done!

Prayers for all and have a safe warm day.

Good morning Daily-ites.

Brrr a chilly morning of 35, looks like we had rain last night and it is quite windy.

I woke up thinking about baby Murphy. I sure hope this family has some good news coming. Prayers to Sandi's brother and friends and to all those needing a prayer: it's there for you.

It is supposed to warm up a bit later this week, so I will be emptying the rest of my planters and get them put away and prep the patio for winter.

No, no on the recipe today. I'm with Sue, no chickpeas! I have a beautiful roast in the crockpot with lots of veggies and a can of beer, which will be served with mashed potatoes and fresh peas with baguette bread. Since our friends introduced us to Amish butter, I tend to use it for any excuse.

We have been to Belfast on a tour in 2013. Stayed 2 nights. Most of your pictures are familiar. I lost my pictures after not following up on transferring them, so thank you for those memories.

Wishing you all a great week. Know you are loved.

Since it is a cold, wet, windy day, I decided it will be a good day to use the oven. The Halloween cake, appropriately a Devils Food cake, just came out of the oven; then, tonight the pizza will go in the oven.  The oven even got used last night to cook the scalloped potatoes that went with the Cornish game hen that was cooked in the air fryer.  The oven has been used more in the last few days than all summer.  It was just too hot to have the oven on most of the summer.

Good morning.   I loved candy corn when I was a kid, still do but I avoid sugar.    Hopefully no mischief tonight.   @RMLincoln you are definitely rocking checklist day today.   A funny quote.   I will pass on today's meal, today's minty cocktail and wine sounds like a migraine.   Thanks for the photos of Belfast today @StLouisCruisers, the photos of the progress on the memorial tree are nice.   Something for you to look forward to every time you return to Belfast.

Prayers for everyone in our group needing them today.  Prayers for the families in Maine who are missing loved ones and healing from the trauma of the mass shooting.  Prayers for all the people in war zones for no choice of their own and that they can successfully defend their territories.   Israel and Ukraine.

We had a long afternoon at the casino yesterday but both our teams won though it wasn't easy for both the Vikings and Ravens.    We got to our usual dining room in the sports book and a loud rock band was playing in there.   We immediately headed to the brewery restaurant and sat at the bar.   I drank more Bud Light yesterday in one sitting than I have in my life.   The price we have to pay to watch an out of market foot ball game.   Today I am sitting at attention with a view towards my neighbors' house.  They are out of town and their furnace quit before they left.   I have their garage door opener to let the repairman into the house.   After that I have a Zoom today and tomorrow for an Environmental School put on the National Garden Clubs.  We are thinking of holding in person classes on the same topic so I am taking part to get ideas what we are getting in to.   Cold and gray here with snow possible for the kiddos tomorrow for trick or treat.   The hose is still out John procrastinated.   Next day to have a shot is Thursday.   Have a nice day everyone!   Nancy

Nancy, I'm glad both your teams won yesterday.

In the 1960s Mischief Night started to morph into Devil’s Night in Detroit, with arson replacing petty vandalism. It peaked at more than 800 fires one year in the 1980s, then was brought under control by as many as 50,000 volunteers who patrolled in their own cars, using mobile phones and CB radio to report suspicious activity.

The Reina Sofia museum is a block from my hotel and this morning the line to enter it reached to the hotel door. I’m going to try to visit it early in the evening. This afternoon, however, I have a timed ticket for the Prado. I spent the morning reading for my class and drinking coffee in the hotel’s rooftop lounge.

Paul, I'm glad you are enjoying Spain.

Terry, the painting on the Peace Wall in Belfast was encouraged as a way for the city to heal after the Troubles.  Most of the art work has a special meaning for the artist.

Gerry, I'll be interested in how the new air fryer works.  I've cooked salmon and asparagus in mine at the same time, but never tried a baked potato.

It was a very brisk 16F when the dogs and I went out. I had to wrestle little Monty into his coat and even then he shivered. They were both glad to come in and so was I. It is supposed to get into the low 40's this afternoon. We have a couple more days before it starts to warm again, but the night temps will still be in the 20's. Guess I had better get used to it. The electrician comes tomorrow to service the heaters.

Haven't been to Belfast and I avoid candy corn, and most candy,  due to the sugar although I ate a lot of candy corn as a child.

Little news from here as my clearing is going very, very slowly. I prefer to read.

Thinking the best for all. I am off now to load up the car with a few more boxes and head to the thrift store where I am sure they are tired of seeing me coming.

Strange thing in the line to enter the Prado: people behind me were becoming enraged because their skip-the-line tickets “weren’t being honored.” The line they were in was for the security check. They got to skip the much longer line to buy tickets.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I'm not a candy corn fan. I dislike mischief night; one time home from college someone egged my car and tried to sugar the gas tank (luckily the gas cap was tricky and they couldn't get it off). I frequently make checklists so as not to forget things. Funny quote. Maybe on the meal if no actual coconut, only coconut milk. I like the drink and wine. I have not been to Belfast.

It's a rainy day here, with dropping temps. We were in the 50's this morning; now 47. Possible flurries tomorrow! I'm tired of not being able to do much. Can't lay or recline or stand. Trying to make my soup yesterday, I had to keep sitting down. My night was the usual. I went to PT earlier, and came back home, as I was in too much pain to do anything. It's eased off a bit now.

@seagarsmoker Sorry to hear your cabin temperature is so high.

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for the Belfast photos.

@aliaschief That meal sounds wonderful.

@RMLincoln It sounds like you're making good progress. Enjoy having family visit.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos.

@cat shepard Nice shot of the full moon.

@Nickelpenny I hope they get to the bottom of your leg numbness.

@Mtn2Sea Thanks for the interesting photos.

@kochleffel Enjoy the Prado.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

Good morning and thanks all! Yum on both drinks!

DH has family in Northern Ireland and would have had a farm if it weren’t for squatters. The farmhouse was home for several children as they were evacuated from Belfast during the war.
We loved the crown bar and the antique shops are amazing.   Highly recommend the giants causeway and spending time in Northern Ireland. If you go absolutely try the Banofffee pie!

I have never been to Ireland and am enjoying seeing the photos. Am I the only dailyite that likes warmth? 77degree's seems perfect most of the time. It is 72 in my house today and I am debating turning on the heater.

I will also give a miss to the meal, the drink and the wine on todays menu. Grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of  soup sounds much better.

To the best of my knowlege Michief night was never a thing where I grew up but we did go Trick or Treating on Halloween after a costume party in the town courtyard.

Lazy day onboard the Eurodam.  Wife took me shopping this morning, as she wanted to see if I would like a polo shirt in the gift shop.  Of course, they had something she wanted to look at first, which I was strongly hinted at would be a nice Christmas gift... 🎄

I has lasagna for lunch, which was yummy,  Suzi and my sister had turkey which they both enjoyed.

We had strong rain storm about an hour ago,  always a joy watching peeps get out of the pool and dart for cover... 😀

We are waiting for another engineer to stop by the room about ac.  😞
