Equinox - update on recent cruise

I'm a seasoned cruiser.  Just sailed on the Equinox for a 6 night cruise.  Not a heavy liquor drinker, maybe a single drink in the evenings, and just a cappuccino in the mornings.  I didn't buy a drink package because the out of pocket cost is cheaper than buying the drink package.  I had a room with a balcony which was very nice and the room attendant was awesome!     The food on the ship was good.   Went to the Craft Social Bar on deck 5, the service was slow and the staff was very rude.  I think they were over worked. This is one of the busiest bars due to its location.  Didn't seem to be enough staff for the number of customers.   Never went back to this one.   Next I tried the Ensemble Lounge, paid out of pocket $9 +tip +tax for a liquor drink that didn't appear to have a drop of liquor.   Couldn't taste it and never felt it.   Let's move on.   Apparently the liquor drinks on this ship are not worth buying or getting for free.   Rest of the cruise I ordered a single glass of wine in the evenings.

I believe the Craft Social is on deck 4, but at any rate, that service is not acceptable. Did you try the World Class bar? You can easily watch them make the drinks. I usually hang out at Ensemble in the evenings for the music. I have seen many, many drinks made there. Never have heard anyone complain that there was no liquor in the drink. If you are at the bar you can clearly see all the many, many bottles and can watch the drinks being made. Usually I have observed that the bartenders there use a measure, but then add a bit of free pour to the drink.

I was just on the Equinox October 22-28. I can attest that every bar we went to, which was every bar except the World Class Bar, provided good service and liberal pours of alcohol.

I'm sorry you had bad luck on two attempts at getting a drink. But I strongly disagree with your generalization that liquor drinks are worthless on the Equinox.

I concur with your comments, Smmessineo.  In fact, sometimes my drinks had too much alcohol in them!  (One evening I made the mistake of asking for a wee bit more rum in my Bahama Mama........)😂

Sorry to hear of your poor service and lack luster drink.   Would recommend you look in the daily for the QR code -  Attention to Detail online form.    I would let them know.   If it isn't correct other's will have the experience you did and will lead to dissatisfaction.

Many Maitr'd I know have told me they really want to know failures so they can work with the staff.   They said if they don't know others will be receiving the same lack of service.

I can attest that there was plenty of liquor in my drinks when we sailed in July 🤣...but sorry to read about the poor service in CS...I hope you left some feedback at Guest Services.

Not sure what is happening to CS but I did notice the cruise line is starting to nickle and dime like the other cruise lines.   Perhaps they are starting to cut back on liquor as well and this sail may have been an attempt to see how to cut back on bar service.   Glad to hear your July cruise was not affected.

Craft Social is very busy and hard to find a seat or get a fast drink during a sporting event - like current MLB playoffs, WS, or NFL games.  Perhaps that is what was going on?  At other times I found it to be as nice a bar as any on the ship.

That would be my guess, too. We spent a lot of time at the martini bar across the way, the only time Craft Social was noticeably busy was when baseball or football was on.

I always get the best drinks at the Sunset or the Casino Bars.  Never had a single issue re drinks on any Celebrity Cruise.

Dawg - not sure when you last sailed on Celebrity, but I think things are changing.  I didn't wright this post to bash the cruise line or upset anyone.  Just trying to let folks know what I really experienced on my recent cruise with Celebrity.   It really did happen. I wouldn't have mentioned it if it didn't.

Oh I believe you…is just not something I have experienced…hopefully I won’t.  Next cruise is in January of 24.

I am just surprised that, if I read your first post correctly, you generalized from a single weak drink and feeling rudely treated at one bar rude, that "the liquor drinks on this ship are not worth buying or getting for free." That is a pretty small sample.

Just got off an 8-day, Oct. 22.  Had 2 mixed drinks ordered.  One from pool bar while in pool and other at dinner in mdr.  Both had zero alcohol in them.  So maybe if i was in front of bar while ordering it may be different but actually switched over to beer as i know what i am getting and paying for.  Very inconsistent.
