We had a very good dinner last night in Canelettos.

Suzi had the shrimp as an appetizer and half order of chicken parm and said both were excellent.  I had shrimp as an appetizer and spaghetti with chili shrimp for main and both were yummy.

I won again in the casino and ahead for the cruise so far. 😀

We are onboard the ship today, no interest in taking a tender to shore.

Hoping for a beautiful day to make up for yesterday.

Will check in later.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning friends!  It's a frosty 25F this morning with clear skies.  However clouds are predicted to move in and we will reach about 51 for a high.  Thanks to Rich @richwmn and to Jacqui @kazu who has agreed to step in for him to bring us the Fleet Report and Daily.

Today would be a good day to go caroling since someone decided we should have a "Day" for that.  I remember going caroling with neighborhood friends a few times during childhood.  And let's honor Sacagawea on an important date in Native American history.  See the day in history for the the Louisiana Purchase transfer in 1803.  I'll try the baked queso chicken and sauvignon blanc but pass on the cocktail.  Thank you Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for your food and beverage reports.

Prayers for the Daily Care list people who are suffering pain, waiting for surgeries or procedures or who have lost loved ones recently.  Also for the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages still held, and our military under attack.  Keep them all safe!  Prayers too for my DB and friends Scott, Susan, Bob and Sandy. 🙏 Cheers to the Celebration list folks who are celebrating happy events and cruises. 🎉 Safe travels to all including our leader Rich @richwmn. ✈️ Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the updated list each day!  Hoping you got a little sleep last night, if not plan for a nap today.  Prayers for your pain relief!

Port of the day is Avalon, California on Catalina Island.  We shared stories and photos on Avalon back on July 21, 2022 and Aug. 21, 2023 so I'll post the links next.  We haven't stopped there on a cruise before but DH visited Catalina Island as a child visiting his grandparents in California. Thanks in advance for your photos today!

Hoping everyone has a good day, staying safe and well!

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Happy Hump Day!

We didn't get too much snow from the snow squalls and the wind has finally died down.  Bertie and I will head out for a walk when the sun appears.  I don't like these short days, but soon, the daylight hours will start to increase and that is wonderful.

An interesting collection of days.  I will not go caroling.  A few years ago, a group of us were singing carols at the hospital.  After the first song, my friend turned to me and said "I didn't know you were tone deaf" 😲 - I don't sing in public anymore. 🙂  Sangria would be nice and Sacagawea was great.

Interesting quote.

The meal sounds good, looking forward to recipes.  I like the drink and I'm sure I'll like the wine.

I haven't been to today's port.

Prayers for our world.

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe.

Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info from Kazu!

Let’s start Chapter IIi from my cruise 12/3-12/17/23 on the CF.

Chapter III - Wi-Fi from L!

You may have read in my prior posts that the Wi-Fi on the cruise ship was a couple notches below sucking. I could pull up the CC site in ports and never on the boat. It hard to believe I could connect with CC site while snorkeling with reef shark in Bimini, Bahamas and fishes at Bonaire, but not on the boat. And before asking, Yes, all my body parts are still attached. In fact I could get CC site from Port Everglades website in terminal while on ship but not on ship. Have you got the point. All I had to pay was extra $35 per day for premium service, Not!

Someone told me that the reason basic Wi-Fi was so bad was that 30 miles from Port Everglades the telephone line that was being laid behind the ship broke and there was no dial up service. 😀

Anyway the beaches were beautiful and so was Wi-Fi at the beach.

Good afternoon.

It is 47°F, cloudy and breezy here in NE England.

Sangria is a nice refreshing drink.

We men tend to hide our sorrows much more than women.

Today's food and wine is good.

Prayers 🙏 for everyone who is unwell.

I hope everyone is safe and well and y'all have a lovely day.

Thank you Rich, Jacqui,  Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for the Hump Day report.  Too cold for caroling, I'll pass on the Sangria, but will celebrate Sacagawea.  I'm also great for the great buy made in 1803.

I like the quote.  I've been to Catalina just once on the now defunct Carnival Inspiration.

The meal sounds interesting.  My alternative is Chilled Indian Lassi Soup, Chicken Breast with Prosciutto, Mozzarella, and Basil leaves, and Master Chef Sundae as served on MS Prinsendam December 20, 2013.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily update, recipes and lists.  A great day to celebrate caroling, sangria and the brave contributions made by Sacagawea to the Lewis and Clark expedition.  I like the quote and think that it may be true.  Think I’ll pass on the meal and drink suggestions.  I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our prayer list.  Cheers to those celebrating happy events!  Happy Wednesday all!

Jacqui, thank you for taking over the Editor-in-Chief position, while Rich tours the world! Safe travels Rich. Hope you have a fantastic journey!  A wee bit warmer this morning, though the breeze still lingers. My nose is actually cold from my early morning walk with Bindi.

Good morning Daily-ites

Thank you @kazu for taking the Helm today

I've been in and out of the Daily, well, because I've been busy!

Rotterdam is such a beautiful ship. The crew are priceless! Last night the Mahi Mahi was excellent in MDR. I could have licked my plate.

If any Daily-ites are on deck 3 at 5, stop by and say hi. We are the first 2 top on the right as you walk in. But not tonight, we are dining in Pinnacle.

I pray for all on Vanessa's care list and for Sandi's DB and friends. Vanessa it's time you get help and healing.

Wishing all a healthy,  happy, day! God bless you.

Thank you @kazu for getting the Daily started while Rich is cruising.  I appreciate all of the regular posters.

Today’s complete quote from Henry Wordsworth Longfellow:IMG_8748.webp.8f4e38e00059bdf6b0a2cd69d62e1d12.webp

I do not think the quote is specific to men.  Remember, Longfellow wrote in the early 1800s.  You could easily substitute “person” for “man”

Generally, I find Longfellow poetry to be uplifting.  Here are the closing line  to one of his most popular poems, The Psalm of Life:

Let us, then, be up and doing,
   With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

Good morning.  Still very cold here in PA — I have had to bring inside all the drinks I was storing in the garage.  The last thing I need is exploding soda and ice tea containers.

Today is my monthly card club - Pinochle.  I joined in 1980 but the club started in the early 70s.  So it is very long lasting.  These days we meet at a local restaurant which provides us with tables as long as we buy lunch.  Works out well.  But in December we meet at someone’s house for extra treats and a gift exchange.  It is a fun day.  My daughter will stop by to make sure her Dad is ok while I am gone.

Best wishes for a great day.  Katherine

Good morning,

If I don’t post now, I never will today.

Another busy day for us.  Full of fun!!!!!!    DH going for his cognative Test at noon.  Then we see the Neurologist on January 11.

On another note, I was notified from the Mayo Clinic that there was an earlier appointment for my Dermatology procedure. So instead of Feb. 27, I will now have it done on January 9.  I will be glad to get that done with.

After Jim’s exam today, I hope to finish writing Christmas Cards.  i know at this point they will not get to their destinations until after Christmas, but that is the best I can do this year.

I am still hurting, but not as bad.  I guess the increased Prednisone dosage is doing its job.  Today I start lowering the dosage again.  Then we will see what happens.  Will speak with the Doc next week.  He is on vacation this week.

Prayers for everyone, especially those on the cares list.

@richwmn Safe travels.

@kazu Thanks for taking over for Rich.

Have a good day everyone,

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning everyone.

What a great collection of days!  Love Sangria but will save it for warmer weather.  Caroling is so much a part of the season and Sacajawea is very deserving of celebration.

IMG_1848.jpeg.be059485c9164b4e71a62664a05a0df6.jpeg

Today’s quote is very true and hit home for me - especially today.  The meal sounds wonderful and YAY on the Outnumbered Sauvignon Blanc.  It is a delicious wine - wish I could get it here regularly 😔

IMG_1849.jpeg.11a089d7b25c4960b9601e75b56621c0.jpeg

Busy day today - one more box to get out for my pick up of gifting stuff.

IMG_2571.thumb.jpeg.f61cf3784b29ac6a536e232384d9a9bf.jpeg

And I have to try to get the mess outside cleaned up.  Massive branches on the ground along with the smaller ones.  I might need a saw 😬

Then after I take extra care of Ivan leaving him at an unprecedented time, I’m off to see Jose’s BFF and my dear friend.  The visit is going to be a difficult one with the recent loss of his wife and I will have to try to be tougher than I feel for his sake.  I hope I can pull it off and will most likely need a glass or 2 when I get home.  This time of the year is a depressing one for so many 😔

IMG_1850.thumb.jpeg.d91db776c3a15eda5acfcd0dd1ec6a0c.jpeg

Thanks to Vanessa, Ann, Dixie & Debbie for their dedication and to everyone for their contributions.  Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health issues, pain, worries & those that need them. 🙏 Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.  🥂

Have a good Hump Day everyone.
