Give Me Some Positives About The Adventure

Recommended Posts

We have not sailed on the Adventure, but have been on her sister ships several times.

I keep seeing people griping and complaining about her casino and other things, which I try to take with a “grain of salt”.

For those of you who have sailed the Adventure I would love to hear some positive feedback as we sail on 1/27….😎😎

Thank you!!!

Someone beat me to it, but my only complaint with Adventure is no Playmaker’s (a Bamboo Room like on Navigator and Mariner would also be nice). However, I cruised on Adventure three times last year so it is still a great ship in my book.

Adventure was a very solid ship.  We booked this cruise for the itinerary, and so we were happy with it.  We didn't expect a luxury ship (and we didn't get one) but had good food, a quiet room and a good itinerary.

I am on the Adventure at this time. For her age, I think she is in good condition. Dinner in the MDR last night was very good.  The service was excellent and the Prime Rib was pretty good.  Breakfast in Winjammer had a very good omelet station   The casino was not kind to me, but the guy sitting beside me had two hand pays in a 15 minute time span. The ice show was worth seeing, but the Allure spoiled me last week.  If you have any questions, I will try and answer them for you

Sitting on my balcony in a junior suite on deck 9 having breakfast on the Adventure (we are in Nassau).

Casino sent up two bottles of wine this morning as well (watched the NFL games there last night while playing slots) we closed her down around 2:30 AM.

Ship is clean, food is the same as on every other RCL ship. MDR not to my taste so we use specialty venues. Internet is super-fast, staff is friendly. Not sure what you are hearing about Casino, my only observation is that the aisles are tight. I manage to make it through in an electric wheelchair so able-bodied folks should be able to do the same.

Would I have brought my kids on her back in the day, probably not as they would have been bored. It is just as good as any other ship for us. If it helps, we are both Masters in the casino, we are 2 cruises from pinnacle on RCL but we also travel on Disney, NCL, X and MSC and have high status on all of the other lines as well.

We get off of the adventure this week and hop on the Mariner the week after...

The only thing good I can think of is that it’s a helluva lot better than Enchantment..  😉  I do like the ice show when the little guys with mustaches come out and skate around though

I've done several cruises on Adventure out of San Juan and Ft. Lauderdale. Never had a bad cruise on her. The production shows are old and dated but I don't expect O class entertainment when I'm aboard.

That is an interesting comment. I can remember when "Frommer's Guide to Cruising" used to describe Voyager class ships as Disney at Sea and the ship's to book for people with kids. I guess times have changed.

Traveled on Adventure OTS right when Covid hit. Had a great vibe, the food was amazing and I loved the schooner bar. Roomy junior suite, staff was good but not as friendly as other lines I have been on. It is just a really cool ship, in fact it is still my favorite ship I have been on. Good ocean views.  Yes it is older but  think the size is perfect, the solarium was great ( so grateful to have a covered area with huge hot tubs) This was the first Royal Caribbean ship I had ever been on . Now having said that, I don't know how it is post Covid but I booked a transatlantic on her this year and can't wait to sail on her again. I would pick Adventure over Allure any day. Allure is the only other Royal Carib ship I have sailed.

Just got off an 8 night.  My thoughts:

Do not expect Oasis class entertainment.

Not as many entertainment options

Navigating in the casino is VERY tight when busy.  And very smokey (Cigarettes)

Food was OK

Chops was fantastic

Chiefs table was fantastic

Mixed drinks were good but very inconsistent from place to place and even within the same place.

The cruise director bored me to tears

The 4 ports we stopped at were fun

Not happy that they decided to prime the rust spots in our Junior suite balcony the day we arrived and came back 3 other times to continue touching up the rust - Horrific smell but we just opened the balcony door and then the hallway door - (Mutual suffering I guess.  😋 )

Windjammer was OK and we did eat there several times

Chris the guitar entertainer in "Duck & Dog" was fantastic and loads of fun to drink and sing along with.

Love that Adventure is one of the older ships that still has a nice locker room in the fitness center with steam/sauna facilities. They've ripped these out of Navigator and ruined her.

Is the sauna complementary?  Also, is sex segregated or coed?  My wife won't want to sit in a sauna with a bunch of men?

The sauna/steam facilities are complimentary, available within the men's and women's locker rooms of the fitness center. They are separate, unlike the thermal suites on the newer ships.
