Cigar smoking

Enchanted doesnt, they turned it into an arcade... Bummer.  I think thats the direction most are going though unfortunately.

Im an avid cigar smoker and fully support cigar lounges on ships, but it doesnt surprise me they are reclaiming that realestate for something more profitable. We were on NCL a couple years ago and they had one but there was rarely anyone in there besides my son and me with the occasional cigarette smoker and they dont buy cigars from the lounge...

Question, not looking for a lecture, - have all the cigar lounges been removed from all the Princess ships?

Princess website for the different ships shows which ships got rid of the cigar lounge (👍) and replaced with an arcade (👎).

I've been on NCL Escape and Breakaway and it's always been packed!  I hate to see the industry going in that direction!

On the wonderful Majestic, I enjoyed my cohiba and Remy Martin deck seventeen aft, under the stars and warm breeze 🙂

You, my friend, sound like my type of person!  A Cuban Cohiba?  I was never into Cuban cigars.  I just don't think they live up to the hype!  My go to cigar is a "Leaf" by Oscar.  I have a bundle of them for my May cruise to Bermuda.  I can taste that Remy Martin now!  Do you drink VS, VSOP, or XO?  Three cruises ago, aboard NCL Breakaway, we were sitting in the Haven Bar one night and I said to my wife that once in my life I have to taste a Louis XIII cognac to see what the difference was between that and XO.  She said, "Why not tonight?"  I have never loved her more than at that moment! The bartender served it on a silver tray and served it in a crystal snifter.  It was a religious experience!  I've never tasted anything so smooth and warming in my life.  I even put off smoking my cigar for about two hours because I didn't want to spoil the aftertaste it left in my mouth!  I hope to repeat that one more time!

Where exactly is this info found? In the deck plan?

the deck plan for the Emerald on Princess.com still clearly shows “Speakeasy Cigar Lounge” on deck 6

Elsewhere on cruise critic, people say the cigar lounge on Emerald has been replaced.

the mixed messaging and lack of clarity around what is being offered on this ship SUCKS

We were on Getaway, but over the summer so more families which may have accounted for less people in there.  I wasnt complaining, it was great having it to ourselves most times we were in there. Also, if i remember correctly, it opened up to the deck which was a really good design to keep the smoke out of the interior areas, although most have really ventilation systems.

I was hoping that since Princes has more old fogies that enjoy stogies like myself, they would have one, but no such luck for our cruise next month on Enchanted...

I was recently on Discovery where Churchill had been converted to an arcade weeks earlier. We still enjoyed cigars on Deck 17 aft. The social aspect was good if you wanted it, but you could also puff without anyone bothering you. I don’t know if staff aren’t interested, but the area was usually pretty cluttered with old drinks and trash, and all of the furniture was looking pretty old and worn.

Princess website. Select ships, the ship you are interested in and deck plans. Select the deck.

I am not sure when you last looked at deck plans but this morning I looked both the Emerald and the Ruby and both show arcade in that location next to the casino. The left hand side of the page still says cigars but if you scroll over to the actual deck plan you will see arcade in that location

I checked this today and it is as you’ve described. Just that one page is a great example of their unclear/mixed messaging.

I too was just on Discovery in mid February and was disappointed that Churchills was just converted to an arcade. Had to have my cigars on Deck 17 aft. I will concur with New2cruise that the area seems forgotten by the crew and is a mess and the furniture old, worn, and burn marks in the cushions. It was much nicer in the lounge.

Nub Nuance! I like the Machiatto one quite a bit. Good taste, friend!

That is going to be awesome.  Last kid just went off to college so we are back to just the wife and I on vacation. We use to cruise Princess all the time before kids, but that was also before carnival bought them so it will be interesting to see if its anything like we remember.
