Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 17 Author #302 Share Posted April 17 We had a super day today with our dear friend Ivica, Manager of the Allegro Dining Room. Debbie had time for some shopping and we made it back to the ship to watch the 2nd half of the Lakers vs Pelicans game. We are BIG Lakers fans! Close game at the end and we won!

Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 17 Author #309 Share Posted April 17 (edited) Last night we dined at The Catch with two senior staff officers. It was FANTASTIC!!! Sorry, no photos. We were up late, past midnight, and are having a late and slow start to the day. 🤪 Btw, the Majestic will have a two week dry dock in April of 2025 in Palermo, Italy. The Harmony Restaurant "might" be going away??? If it does, The Catch will replace it and Sabatini's would go into The Catch's current location on deck 7. Mike A Posted April 18 #311 Share Posted April 18 (edited) @LA Cruiser1st off I have been following your live from and have enjoyed enjoyed minute 🙂. You stated the Majestic will have a 2 week dry dock in April 2025. We are on the 10 day sailing on April 21, 2025, Rome to Trieste. Did the Staff Officers provide you with exact dates in April? Hopefully, we are not affected and will have added pleasure to dine in Sabatini’s, our favorite specialty restaurant. Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 18 Author #312 Share Posted April 18 @Mike A I do not have the exact dates. Sounds like it will probably be before your cruise??? If I find out the exact dates I'll let you know.

Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 18 Author #314 Share Posted April 18 Today we spent a very relaxing time walking around the village of Paihia, Bay of Islands. Thank you @Yehootu for taking our photo! The main street in town.
Yehootu Posted April 18 #315 Share Posted April 18 Great seeing you again. We were off to eat at a place we had seen reviews on only to find out they didn't open till 4pm. Suzanne did find a backpack of stuff for the grandkids and I found several good beers. Hope you found good wines.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 18 Author #316 Share Posted April 18 Tonight's extra dish in the Reserve Dining Room was Lobster Rissoto. They prepared grilled vegetables for our starter. We had the coconut shrimp as a second course. We had the Lobster Rissoto for our main and they put a few coconut shrimp on top.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 18 Author #317 Share Posted April 18 The two bands have been really good, lots of folks dancing in the Piazza. The Prestige Quartet (from Chile) and Dynamix (boarded in Picton) are the bands.

If we didn't have a cow and calf operation I could be a pescatarian 😀

treesah Posted April 18 #323 Share Posted April 18 Auckland looks lovely. Several years ago, we stayed in Auckland for 4 - 5 days and I remember saying that within an hour, it was sunny, then it rained, then the atrocious wind picked up and after that it was freezing. Variety is the spice of life but that was too much. The Kiwis are so friendly and helpful.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted April 19 Author #324 Share Posted April 19 Today, we originally planned to take the HoHo bus around town. But we started walking, and kept walking, and walking, and walking!!! All said and done, we racked up 8.2 miles! And, that included a whole bunch of hills! Our feet are a bit tired! We stopped for a bit of shopping and lunch. We were lucky, no rain! As we were headed back to the ship the clouds were getting darker and you could smell the rain in the air. Random photos from around town. 12

I always travel with an umbrella when I’m up there for work.
