Hi,

We will take Celebrity Edge for Alaska vacation next month. I heard that the regular cheap power strip will not be allowed to bring to the cruise. Can we bring 6 USB ports charger onboard to our room?

  Thank you very much!

We bring a four.  There are USB ports on the bedside and on the vanity.

Multi port USB are fine. I’d get a corded one; that’s likely to fall out of the outlet.

I’d also consider a version with USB C ports for more compatibility.

Edge has the charging box the said device would fit into vertically---no chance of falling out.

Great for the Edge.  What about your hotel on the way? It’s not likely to fit in one of those lamp sockets in the hotel. I find the corded version more versatile.

He's asking about Edge, not La Quinta, and would hopefully get USB-C---IF needed.  BTW, mine is corded and has A & C.

If that’s the name of the newest ship, then I lost the bet.

Yes. But I’d rather have one that I could use both places. And do.

I believe we’re in violent agreement here?

Whats a La Quinta?? 😀

It’s a hotel chain.  Maybe a better Motel 6?  I’m going to the NE and was surprised to find no Motel 6 in a decent sized college town.

That's like the guy (FROM Texas, no less) that asked where Baird, TX is.  Excuse me sir, let me introduce you to "Google".  😂

I was going to stay at Super 8 but where I’m going it’s crazy expensive.  Family changed the date so I ended up at a Courtyard right before school starts and everything is crazy expensive.  😂

Corded devices are problematic and may be confiscated.

The cords detach and are the exact cord used for most laptop bricks. They don’t confiscate those.

The only ones you can’t bring are the ones with surge protectors.

With due respect... you have your guidance reversed...

You cannot bring a power strip on a cruise because the built-in surge protector is a fire risk.

It used to state you cannot bring even a non-surge extension cord, not sure if that's been updated.  However, this is the one rule I violate on every sailing, as I bring a non-surge extension cord and it has never been confirmed.  Pro tip, put it in your luggage that goes to the porter.  The stateroom attendant usually tapes it to the carpet for us
