Rare RCCL Fan Posted Monday at 12:38 AM #1 Share Posted Monday at 12:38 AM We have only ever done the Beach Club when at Coco Cay. However, we're sailing with friends and the cost is outrageous to them. So we're looking at getting some daybeds at Chill Island or Breezy Bay. Is there bar service here? Could I get bar service tip them well and have them keep coming back to check on us? Or must we go to the bar ourselves? Having bar service wherever we are I think it important. Looks like the cabanas come with bar service, but there are 9 of us, and getting 3 day beds might be more comfy than 2 cabanas. Thoughts?

We're not shaming anyone. We totally understand their thoughts. Beach Club is running twice what we normally pay. We shared that fact with them. So we're looking at other options. We're not the "get up early" types, and would prefer our reserved spots.
Sunshine3601 Posted Monday at 01:17 AM #4 Share Posted Monday at 01:17 AM Head to Chill island or Southbeach, both have bars where you should find some loungers. Finding for a group of 9 maybe a challenge so may be worth getting up early.

We want to lay in our daybed, and be able to enjoy drinks without getting up to go get them.

Tin can Posted Monday at 06:37 AM #8 Share Posted Monday at 06:37 AM We have never seen bar service but apart from the main pool bar have never waited for service so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Cruise a holic Posted Monday at 09:43 AM #9 Share Posted Monday at 09:43 AM If you aren’t in a cabana or at the beach club, I do not recall beach bar service at cococay. However, so many bars all over the island. Would be hard not to be pretty near one. Budget, eating in special restaurants, shore excursions can be an issue when traveling with others. If you have different ideas and budgets, perhaps you should all do different things
lovesthebeach2 Posted Monday at 09:48 AM #10 Share Posted Monday at 09:48 AM I have always seen crew walking around serving drinks just like you would see around the pool on the ship. They’re always asking us if we want a drink. Has something changed recently that they’ve stopped that?

Just like any lounger you May find a server that will return if you tip cash. This will also depend on how crowded the island is on any given day. LeeW Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM #13 Share Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM Just like around pool we see servers walking around all the time in the Chill Beach lounger area. If you are ordering from them they will keep an eye on you.
cruiserJay Posted Tuesday at 04:06 AM #14 Share Posted Tuesday at 04:06 AM Ignore the snark! It is a valid question. We rented a day bed on chill island when we were at Coco Cay last month. Bar attendants came by several times. IIRC, the attendant asked when we arrived what we might need. Suggest you tell the attendant that you would like bar service throughout the day. That should work well.
Harrisonkid Posted Tuesday at 09:37 AM #15 Share Posted Tuesday at 09:37 AM Agree plus add a cash tip to keep their attention 😉
Ocean Boy Posted Tuesday at 09:49 AM #16 Share Posted Tuesday at 09:49 AM I wish that I could enjoy bar service. Seems that I look for any reason to get up and take a walk. I just cannot sit still for long.

Can’t sit still either….my back insists I get up and walk around..but in its defense, I think I was always like that

While there is no dedicated bar service, we tip cash every time and the waiters take care of us quite well. No food delivery, but there is a Snack Shack near both locations, which we prefer over the buffets. We have also rented an over water cabana, one time, and understand your concern, it will be difficult to go back to a regular day bed. lol
