cruizefam Posted January 4, 2019 #2951 Share Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) Sailing: Dec 2018 Ship: Silhouette Cabin# 1535 Deck# 11 Class # Aqua Class 2 Area# Forward Bed# Near Bathroom Quiet# NO! Balcony View # Unobstructed Balcony size# Normal Wind Problem# No Problems# NOISE - it is across from a Crew Service Entrance - and there are several doors behind the main door with lots of activity, including contstant use of a moving dolly - banging started before 5:40am everyday. It was so bad that they locked it in the evening and tried to cut the noise for us. In the afternoon there was banging from the Aqua Spa Cafe' above - (slamming the door). If you have this room - bring ear plugs for a better rest. Edited January 4, 2019 by cruizefam
SoberJulie Posted January 5, 2019 #2952 Share Posted January 5, 2019 SHIP: Silhoutte CABIN #: 1591 DECK #: 11 CLASS: Aqua AREA: starboard side, mid ship BED NEAR: bathroom QUIET?: very BALCONY VIEW: balcony does have the overhang from the pool area above, but the view is still incredible. Also offers protection from sun or rain. BALCONY SIZE: holds 2 chairs with foot stools and a small table that is large enough to have a meal on WIND A PROBLEM?: no SOOT A PROBLEM?: no PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: many complained about the balcony overhang and I was concerned that we wouldn’t enjoy our balcony because of it. We loved our balcony. The room had plenty of storage, the bathroom was well laid out and also had adequate stirsge. The desk area served as a lovely make up/hair desk while getting ready for dinner.

poffles Posted January 15, 2019 #2955 Share Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 7264 DECK #: 7 CLASS: 1A Veranda AREA: Mid ship BED NEAR: Bath QUIET?: Could hear music (the boom boom of the bass) later in the evening as it drifted up from the Grand Foyer. Otherwise the room was quiet. Also notable was that literally right outside this room was a closet the room steward used so they were often right there when you walked out of the room and sometimes we could hear the door close. BALCONY VIEW: Really liked the view from this room, it was angled with view forward (did not think I would like looking backward.) BALCONY SIZE: Really large. Largest of the slant hump balcony's as this is the first one in off the hump (furthest out). WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all. SOOT A PROBLEM?: None PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Would definitely consider this room again. Only negative was hearing music later in the evening... around 10 pm. If the bass was not so bad it might not have been so annoying but bass is bad. The sliding glass doors were not there like they were on a prior Solstice ship, assume they are locked open now. The large balcony was the best ever. Being located mid ship, literally steps from the elevator, made this ideal for easily running back and forth to the room from most locations. vicd1969 Posted January 16, 2019 #2956 Share Posted January 16, 2019 (edited) SHIP: Eclipse CABIN #: 7192 DECK #: 7 CLASS: Standard Veranda AREA: Forward Starboard, very conveniently close to elevators BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: No significant noise issues BALCONY VIEW: Outstanding for glacier viewing, negligible impact from lifeboats BALCONY SIZE: Standard WIND A PROBLEM?: Yes, but that's because weather was very windy in that part of the world. Wind noise wasn't an issue if door was fully shut. SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Starboard side the way to go for any voyage leaving Buenos Aires. Port side would be preferred side for those leaving from Chile. Despite choppy seas at time, cabin felt very stable. Would book same location again. Luvcrusn Posted January 22, 2019 #2957 Share Posted January 22, 2019 (edited) SHIP: Sillhouette CABIN #: 1605 DECK#: 11 CLASS: Aqua A1 AREA: Midship BED NEAR: Balcony QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed BALCONY SIZE: Huge WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Huge balcony first off the hump. Great convenient location and quiet. There is a large overhang but it allows for both sun and shade depending on time of day and where you put the chairs. The cabin was very quiet with no noise from moving chairs above. We'd book it again. There was a slight noise of running water in the bathroom which couldn't be heard with the bathroom door closed. It came from the fan in the shower. Our steward did adjust it to be quieter on day 1 and it wasn't bothersome after that. Ginnyfyr Posted February 10, 2019 #2966 Share Posted February 10, 2019 SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 1622 (Celebrity Suite) DECK #: 11 CLASS: CS AREA: Aft, very close to elevators & stairs BED NEAR: Separate bedroom in between living area and bathroom QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed BALCONY SIZE: 104 sq ft; room for a table & 2 chairs, a reclining chair with foot stool, and a chaise lounge. Very comfortable! WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Tons of storage - wardrobe in entry, cupboards under television, huge walk in closet with separate 6 drawer dresser, 3 drawers in each nightstand, and a narrow closet with shelves in the bedroom outside the bathroom. My only issue was that my 120V (standard, I'm told) flat iron would not work when the ship was under way (talk about first world problems!) If I wanted straight hair I just had to plan to wash/dry/straighten while we were still docked. Not the end of the world but wanted to mention it in case it happens to others. Jlhalldc Posted February 10, 2019 #2967 Share Posted February 10, 2019 SHIP: Reflection CABIN #: 2158 DECK #: 12 CLASS: S1 AREA: Mid ship BED NEAR: Bath QUIET?: Yes. We were concerned because our suite was below the pool deck -- specifically the ping pong tables. We heard little or no noise for the entire cruise. BALCONY VIEW: Beautiful view on the bump-out without extended overhang, which other Sky Suites have from Ocean View Grill. BALCONY SIZE: Nice size. Enjoyed full view of night sky. WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Would definitely book this room again. Mid ship location was perfect. Elevators were close yet heard no noise from them. Balcony furniture included 2 reclining chairs, 2 foot stools and table suitable for dining. There was a periodic rattle in the bathroom but could not be heard with the door closed. AC was excellent. Located near midship elevators and stairs but could not hear what was happening in the atrium.

jaydublax Posted February 18, 2019 #2970 Share Posted February 18, 2019 SHIP: Reflection CABIN #: 7121 DECK #: 7 CLASS: Veranda AREA: Forward, Port BED NEAR: Balcony QUIET?: No. Not sure where the noise was coming from as we were in between two passenger decks, but there was a sound like moving furniture that started at about 6am every morning coming from the interior staff corridors. BALCONY VIEW: OK. Could not see down as there is a white overhang that sticks out. You can see the bridge from the balcony, so not private. BALCONY SIZE: Standard with two chairs and a table. WIND A PROBLEM?: No. SOOT A PROBLEM?: No. PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Room was fine except for the noise. I would not choose this room again.
