  1. Guess so. Anyone have a live report on the Asian food currently offered on Spectrum?
  2. Booked on Spectrum next March for a 3 day in Singapore before flying back to Bethlehem, PA via Saudi Arabian Airlines with an 8 hour layover in Saudi Arabia. My wife and I each have 77 C&A points, very interested to check out the food on Spectrum. We also have been to Singapore 3 times previously, love those imported mangoes from Thailand.
  3. My grandfather was on the dock and waived goodbye to the Titanic.
  4. I have found the vegan meals on Royal Caribbean quite acceptable. In the MDR they have at least one appetizer, one main course, and one desert vegan. Made ordering very easy every night. Sorry to see you are finding out why so many Star cruises are so cheap. We started avoiding her since she had the observation lounge replaced, had all those propulsion problems. Did Not really need more reasons to ignore.
  5. Let's start a thread on Cruise Critic complaints.
  6. I have a US Bank card which gives me 4% rewards on cruises, airlines, hotels, rental cars, car service. It has an annual fee of $95. Have a Wells Fargo card with 3%rewards on all travel, no annual fee. Even the NCL gives 3% rewards on cruises, no annual fee.
  7. Just cancelled mine a few months ago. Next year I plan to get a new one with the $250 sign on bonus, get it up to5,000 points, spending $2,500 on cruises, get the $50 OBC and cancel again.
  8. The difference in weather will be slight, most of the cruise is in the tropics. Stopping in Mazlatan adds little to the cruise, although it is a Love Boat stop. One item to consider is time change, when traveling East to west you have three 25 hour days, while traveling west to east you have three 23 hour days.
  9. Some great last minute sales for this September, $479 inside pp for 9 days to Quebec, $429pp the 7 days back to NYC.
  10. No, they owe you nothing. If they would miss all the ports they would owe you nothing as long as you disembarked where they said you would. They will say it was an act of God, gonna keep your port fees. Their attitude is take it up with God.
  11. So where you going instead of Royal? Would love to know, Cruisemaster. Thanks for sharing.
  12. If enough people go elsewhere RCL prices will fall.
  13. Tanzanite jewelry, so rare it is only found on cruise ships and affiliated stores.
  14. Back in 2018 Mariner was scheduled for 43 nights, heading to Dubai, Barcelona and then Miami. The last leg got cancelled, but about a 1,000 of us took The Carnival Horizon from Barcelona to NYC, after spending 2 nights in Barcelona. Would do it again.
  15. Currently listed at $479 plus $233 port fees, the return to NYC is 7 days and listed at $429. Now I know why the 10 day cruises out of Baltimore to Quebec and the 10 day return have fallen to $569 each way. 4 more days but more expensive on Sky, inferior to Joy ship wise.
  16. Sometimes the work starts already on the last cruise before drydock, this could include having certain areas of the ship unavailable plus all kinds of noise and dirt. If Quantum is not doing a revenue cruise to Singapore, it probably would not cause such problems on the 10/1 Cruise. I had a TA cancelled on Mariner, was supposed to go from Barcelona to Miami, then dry dock, we were on board from Dubai to Barcelona. Good thing it cancelled many months ahead of time, about 1,000 of us got off in Barcelona and two days later got on the Carnival Horizon headed to NYC . Was on a cruise with NCL on which they started doing all kinds of work including replacing carpeting on our deck, lots of people including my wife developed terrible coughs. The workers wore masks, none available for us folks. This was prepandemic. Always a good idea to see where the ship has been and where it is headed for this reason.
  17. Quantum arrives in Hawaii and disembark 10/14/24. The next scheduled cruise is 11/19/24 from Singapore to Australia. It would appear Quantum is going into drydock in Singapore, arriving via a nonrevenue cruise. Meaning the October cruise to Hawaii is the last cruise before the drydock, never a good cruise to book for a variety of reasons.
  18. Which cruise are you taking? We are landing in Manila 10/18/23.
  19. I always book Asia cruises ASAP, the prices only go up. Booked Baltimore to Quebec and Quebec back to Baltimore b2b, paid $669 p/p each way, price has dropped $100 p/p for each cruise. Knowing I can only request FFC once, trying to figure the best time, cruise leaves 9/1/23.
  20. Of course it is, why else would there be no casino on POA?
