Our cruise isn’t until late August. I need to arrange something by mid July in the current environment. Right now I am asking on the cruise air board if American Airlines refunds fees and taxes to your credit card if you cancel a flight. You see I have points that I could book with but only if I can get the heavy fees refunded in case my HAL fare is a go ahead. I can book hotels with points and those would be cancellable.

Yes that is but nothing about the fees and taxes. I know some airlines will only issue a flight credit for fees and taxes. These particular fees and taxes are quite high and I want to know if I can have them credited back to my card

While in the Caribbean my own cell coverage has always been available plus there are many cafes or better yet hotels that offer internet. That was one of the better things I learned here is booking a hotel resort day pass in the Caribbean. My brother in law is a professional videographer and using hotel services has been his best advice.

I am doing a similar itinerary to yours but continue on 10 days past HAL. Laundry is on the top of my agenda once I get to the ship. Be sure to check with your steward for the last day you can send out laundry. They have a laundry bag that holds quite a bit for $20

Hello, thanks for any assistance. If a better forum exists for this question please advise. I ended up with some American Advantage reward miles and I am not familiar with the program. If I book with reward miles and then cancel do I 1. Get my miles reinstated, penalty free and 2. Do the taxes and fees paid go back to my credit card or to a flight credit? My reason for the question is I have land based travel after my cruise and I used cruise air. If the cruise is cancelled the air will be also. I am trying to formulate a backup plan. Thank you

Stay at one of the airport hotels and fly out the next day. AMS is a mess, you need to be in line by no later than 7 am to be sure to get on the flight.
