  1. Ah- the badges get colored in if they’re applicable, which is super confusing that they show up at all. My sea blazer badge shows purple on the website. No clue!
  2. Sea blazers are people who sailed in 2021, and sea rovers are folks that either sailed twice already or matched status from other lines. Maybe they meant rover?
  3. if you're in an actual solo room, i believe it's just one bed - maybe full size vs. a twin? i've poked my head in those rooms a few times, and i'm pretty sure they're not a standard "seabed." if you're in a double cabin and asking if you can have 1 bed as a bed and the other as a couch, there's really no reason you couldn't do that!
  4. sea day late mornings/early afternoons get pretty freaking close to full!!!
  5. Yikes! I only did the premium once for one day before they announced deep blue extras, and it was $15/day unless you did the full voyages then you got a day free. I’m guessing at this point they’re giving it away to so many people, the non-DBErs had to start subsidizing it!
  6. The premium internet isn’t supposed to be any faster, they just unblock the streaming ports. It’s been fast enough for me to work remotely from 13 voyages (the only reason I’ve been able to go on so many). Teams calls with video, zoom, file sharing, etc.
  7. nope, just the L-shape, as the base of one bed pivots towards the wall to form a couch if you like. one caveat juuuust in case - that configuration only applies to non-suite cabins. all suites have king beds, and they are not able to be split. some suites have pull out couches, but not all.
  8. i'm curious to see how long the LV resale store lasts. on resilient, it looked like most of the bags on offer were "open box" things that people bought in retail stores, changed their minds and returned. a lot of them were being sold close to retail price. they weren't the interesting "vintage" or "preloved" products that i expected to see. i thought they were marketing it as a sustainable secondhand shopping option, but it seems like it's just a way for LVMH to monetize their retail returns!
  9. same issue in the women's store... SO many cool shoes, all sized for lilliputians!
  10. When they first launched, they had preset packages that you could pick from- including a nonalcoholic one that had things like kombucha, Red Bulls, ginger beers and a $100 bar tab. That proved to be logistically difficult to execute with so many different suites, so everyone gets the same things now. You can always try asking your agent if they can bring you premium mixers or non-alcoholic spirits, beers and wines (they even have NA sparkling wine - tastes like sparkling wine vs the usual sparkling apple cider!!). Worst they can say is no!
  11. 100% my experience. I've done all itineraries on Scarlet, the 8 night on Valiant and Greek Island Glow on Resilient. The 4 night Scarlet itineraries have been the "booze cruise"-iest because they're quick and cheaper so lower time and $ commitment. Lots of birthday celebrations and bachelor/bachelorette parties on the times that I've been on. 5-nighters are still kind of a party, but I've seen fewer huge party groups on the ones I've been on. I was on the 8 night on Valiant in early December, and the average age had to be pushing 60, maybe even more, but still very lively because we had 2,300 onboard. 8 nights is a big time commitment (and way more expensive!), so a lot of people onboard seemed to be either retired or remote workers (me! grounds club and draught haus were pretty packed with a bunch of us during the middle of the day, and they even had tables that people were working from on the pool deck!) We had a ton of medical emergencies as well, and the crew we spoke to basically said it was a numbers game on that voyage - 2,300 pax, higher average age than scarlet, more days away = higher instance of evacs. Did that same itinerary a month later, and only had 800 pax onboard. Absolute ghost town the whole time. They scheduled fewer occurrences of each event because they didn't want to have like 10 people at each show, which made it difficult to fit everything into your schedule. Also, they pulled a few usual Manor events off the schedule - it was only open a few nights vs. every night the previous month - and they even had a crew party in there one night. The only time I've been legit board on a VV! Finally, my voyage on Resilient did have a much more chill vibe than any other itinerary I'd been on before. I'd say the average age was upper 40s-mid 50s, and very lively. It was late May/early June, so there were a lot of parents with their just-graduated high school, college or grad school kids, with the cruise being their grad present. We also spent significantly less time onboard due to the port-heavy nature of the itinerary and were up early most days, so we also weren't actively seeking out the party scene.
  12. Have you looked at the prices of some of the other suites on other dates though? Higher mega rockstar suites are many thousands of dollars more than even gorgeous (base) mega suites. That’s not price gouging, that’s typical for suites in any hospitality business…
  13. you have to wait until you're onboard to use the sailor loot on excursions, and if you book ahead, you need to cancel a bit of time before the voyage (24 or 48 hours) in order to get that back on your cc. otherwise it just gets refunded as sailor loot, so you're back at square one. you can wait totally until you're on, but then you run the risk of them getting sold out. you could also book ahead, cancel right before that refund deadline and hope no one books it in that short time between you cancelling and getting on. OR you can book now with your cc and use your sailor loot in the casino. i've had pretty decent luck getting at least 70 cents on the dollar. there's no "fee" for turning loot into casino promotional $, but you have to go to the cashier, select if you want slots or chips (or both), and play through all the promotional $. you can cash out all of your winnings though!
  14. He’s such a cool dude too- we’ve been on a BUNCH while he’s playing, and he just hangs out around the ship and talks to whoever when he’s not “on.” The only other musical acts I’ve seen really interact with folks outside their sets are free label (the initial house band on scarlet) and selkii (an awesome solo guitarist/singer)
  15. Lol I’m STILL waiting for NCL to announce that acquisition that he swoooooore was imminent 🙄
  16. absolutely!! i am the QUEEN of weird sauce/topping modification requests. steak skewers no sauce (ew anchovies), new razzle pasta no cheese, enchiladas at pink agave with no sour cream but cheese is okay, etc., etc. occasionally, i get a confused look and double confirmation from the server. most things are able to be slightly modified, but they'll tell you up front if there's something that won't work.
  17. lol i 100% concur here. we had ours starting at 11 the first time (ran late of course), so we only made it to chapter 1. the other showing started chapter 1 at 10, and we were still pretty pooped after going to an 11:30 chapter 2 and a 1ish chapter 3!!
  18. i'm not sure it works on shorter itineraries. on the 7 night resilient, i believe it was offered twice (maybe 3 times, but i'm only remembering mykonos overnight night when my friends went and the night we left mykonos when i went). it eats the manor's availability for a pretty decent chunk of time every time it happens for setup, the actual show and breakdown, and i can't imagine them staffing up a whole show and crew to only show it once across a voyage. i was going to say, maybe on valiant's 8 night voyages, but then what would they do on the 6-nighters?
  19. Heard through the grapevine that ship show was just added as filler, with the anticipation of NSA ending and something else eventually coming on, which is why they didn’t put a ton of effort into ship show. That replacement show still hasn’t happened yet…
  20. Pretty much everything is PG 13 at this point. “Never sleep alone” was a one-woman sex themed comedy cabaret, but that ended earlier this year. There’s a drag show and drag bingo, but both err more on the side of PG 13 than R
  21. both, with 2 stipulations on the band: 1. if you charge it to your band directly and are not a rockstar, you'll get a lovely 7% fee tacked onto your charge - it's essentially casino credit then. 2. if you have sailor loot, you may get that loaded onto your band and use with no fee. to do this, you have to go to the cashier, tell them you want slot money from your sailor loot and how much, then it gets loaded on your band. you tap your band at a machine, log in, and download as much $ as you'd like to play there. you can only cash out winnings and need to play through the full amount (i.e., can't download $100, play $0.50 and cash out $99.50). one other thing to note is that they can only pull from available sailor loot balance, and i think it's in multiples of $5 or $10. if you have any pending items that will be refunded due to deep blue extras or operational issues (coffee credits, laundry, wifi cancelled excursions, etc.), you won't be able to use that $$ until they actually refund you those amounts.
  22. 100% yes. virgin is exceptionally receptive to feedback - if they marked your file every time i'd offered constructive criticism in my post voyage survey, i'd never be allowed back on haha. if you can offer a solution to a perceived problem, they do listen and implement new processes and add or eliminate activities and excursions based on sailor feedback, both positive and negative!
  23. We’ve actually had a couple 3 person XLs with the armchair AND ottoman. SUCH a waste of space!!!
  24. yeah i don't get it. invest the money into the hard and soft product, not some gimmicky partnership with an absolute diva (and not the good kind like carlos or titi kaka 😜) that limitless voyage was such a turnoff, and i would have been so peeved if i were on it with a bunch of self-proclaimed "girl bosses" and women's empowerment panels. for reference, i'm a youngish but senior-level woman in a very male dominated field haha. that cute little addition minimizes women's accomplishments. i could go on for hours about this...
  25. i'm not sure how much i'd trust that this far out. i'm a virgin evangelist through and through, but they have been known to adjust their ports and times. bimini was always supposed to be a late night, then they cut it back to like 8 or 9, and now it's even earlier. san juan on valiant had an absurd port time of ~7am-3:30pm in december (moved to a later more reasonable time in january, but we weren't really able to do much in december)
