  1. It will be $100USD. The rate is fixed and today a great deal for Canadians
  2. Tips are usually either prepaid with AI fares or added at the end automatically.
  3. Tipping is voluntary. Most do not tip with each drink. I find a bartender and tip several times so they get will provide quick service
  4. Air Tags on my drink a great idea. Combined with a wrist cord attached to my phone and I will be able to find my drink. Another Air Tag to find my cabin And the app to help me figure out how many drinks I had yesterday.
  5. OK - If the cruiseline doesn't require proof of vaccination, how the heck do they know who is not vaccinated. Seems an issue to me.
  6. What is being due with those that are Covid positive is not a prediction for the future. The actions the last few months have been quarantine in your own cabin - often because of few open cabins. There are also country and port issues that is some cases have had passengers disembarked. That action was reported as necessary because of a medical concern on TA cruises. Some sadly accuse X of unreasonable actions. Do they have knowledge of the medical condition of those disembarked. A TA certainly creates a period of several days of no outside assistance possible. No clue for the coming months as to what will happen.
  7. I carry a digital scale. If for some reason overweight a pound or so simply put something into a reusable shopping bag. It has sometimes weighed 20lbs. Goes for free.
  8. The package is the way to go if you have AT&T. Everything else probably a bit confusing if both are not a bit tech savvy.
  9. That is well and good, however, for my upcoming cruise Princess says nothing required; but Cartagena Colombia says otherwise. Princess site was updated 10/12 so maybe things changed in the last 3 weeks.
  10. Lots of port exceptions including Cartagena, Labadee, Australia along with TP and TA cruises. Agree the policy is pretty stupid. Am aware of several who did proctored tests in a group and simply held up the same test stick. We tested at home some months ago when we felt ill. Set the test stick on a counter and forgot it. It showed the negative bar on the strip 2 weeks later. Allowing people to say they are vaxed without any proof. Equally dumb.
  11. Agree. The luggage tags look pretty but the porters will tag your bags at the pier with a tag that works just fine. Last cruise simply showed my confirmation from Celebrity, covid card and smiled for a photo. Under 5 minutes and NO STRESS. Interestingly there are no line to have bags tagged & checked at the pier; but a line to have a porter put tagged bags in the cart. Go figure.. We give EDocs one try then move on.
  12. What is a "Good Canadian " Deli product? Spent 3 months in Canada this year - BC and New Brunswick. Did I miss something? As already said saw only a couple rare instances of slovenly behavior on Summit this August. As for getting ill from eating there, I mostly use my table utensils, wash my hands just before eating and keep my hands away from my face.
  13. Summit was full because of where it was sailing. Iceland and Greenland for August followed by Boston to Canada for several trips. The cabins are brighter and very pretty. The table and chairs feel right out of a government waiting room. Awful.
  14. I personally object to being served frozen vegetables. They are impossible to cut and am afraid of breaking a tooth. Canned except tomatoes are dreadful too.
  15. For our last cruise I used a couple pics taken about 10 years ago. As for a bruise, do you think Celebrity cares?
  16. Extra points are sometimes offered for certain cabins booked on specific cruises in a certain date range. Those offers are usually very time limited as you found out.
  17. Several Big Box TAs do not participate in MoveUp - their choice. The also can elect not to handle insurance by Princess. Why in the heck would you want to deal with that? There are many reputable TAs that have group space blocked - thus perks included - and will do MoveUp. Until final payment date Orincess does not know exactly how many cabins they have left as group blocks are not turned back to the cruiselinecuntil approximately final payment date.
  18. Your issue seems to be with the payment from your TA to Celebrity for your deposit. For whatever reason Celebrity did not receive the $$. NOT unusual for a transaction to simply not go through or get credited to the wrong account. Thus your reservation was cancelled. You rebooked and paid your deposit. The question now is were you charged twice. Very simple to answer. If yes, then where did the first payment go? Your account at Celebrity, someone else's cruise or somewhere completely different. Thus if you were indeed charged twice try to determine where the first $$ went - easier than a dispute to sort. Get any details you possibly can. If both payments went through to Celebrity you will need to dispute the charge. Worth a call to Celebrity for a try with resolution department. Way above regular phone agents authority level
  19. No point in arguing as Celebrity requires operators have X dollars of liability insurance. The insurance company sets the requirements for the policy which often include age. Same situation for renting a car in Ireland. It is age restricted there and in other countries.
  20. Cruise Care cost and the amount of insurance for the trip is based on the amount paid to Celebrity. Everyone ok so far. If your trip is say $10000 then that is the amount you are insuring. If at a later date you change to a suite for an additional $5000 and buy airfare from FBC your coverage is the amount of coverage when the policy was WRITTEN. It is exactly the same as your auto policy. You have coverage on your 2010 Ford. Trade it in on a new car you need to change the coverage. Hope this is clearer.
  21. You can certainly request a kettle. We have been one 4 or 5 TAs out of FLL or MIA. Have always been told no. There are a few reports of getting one. Lindy - you are on a US sailing, not a European one. Was also told no sailing out of Venice, Civitavecchia and Barcelona. Coffeemakers have never seen one except in the upper few suites. Good luck.
  22. The behavior of passengers at the buffet on Summit was more patient and I saw no disgusting behavior. We usually had fish grilled and put on our plate. And this cruise was 100% full. The behavior causing issues was passengers coughing and hacking. Way too many. And if someone said something about covering their mouth; the response was a version of mind your own #%#$ business. Thus not getting sick on board IMO is a function of moving away from a person who appears I'll and doesn't suggest it is allergies. We got up from our table in the MDR mid meal and said we needed to be away from . . . If you are concerned to the point where you want passengers to wear gloves in the buffet it might be too soon for you to cruise. There will be times when a person who is hacking is beside you in a confined space.
  23. Agree cancelling a future cruise is cheap at a real cost of only $100. However, booking with my TA at a group rate ( usually OV, Verandas and Aqua only) offers fully refundable with perks at usually a cruise only rate.
