  1. Can tell you unless you are stable on your feet the tub in any ship is difficult to step in. As for the showers, if the ship is rocking - which would be very unusual - getting into ANY shower - grab bars or not - could be a bad decision. The Sunset Verandas are huge but often kept initially for families and are being reclassified.
  2. John - what is an "Adult-only ship"? Thought children were allowed on all ships. Except for Alaska and hidays have found few children on most cruises.
  3. Thus as of next week the rules might change again. At least the rules are finally very clear
  4. Yes. If you (any age) want a small filet (4oz) just ask. Has always been available.
  5. Jewelry is hugely popular on cruises. People buy to have something to remember the cruise. The price means little. It is the moment
  6. Maybe X is shutting down its websites for a week and will be back with everything clear and concise. More likely a bunch of new shore excursions.
  7. Suggest you change the title of your thread as there are several USB power strip threads being discussed. On Shilouette some years ago there were 6 various outlets. USB didn't exist then
  8. Some fresh food is taken on board at ports along the trip. Bananas start very green and store for a week+. Have also seen pallets of salad makings - lettuce (which freezes poorly -LOL), maters, onions and carrots; as well as broccoli. All the above was loaded in Reykjavik aboard Summit. PS I did not see any green beans, but peas and corn freeze very well.
  9. Taken away from friends. The best and easiest solution was an EU double USB plug. Left the North American plugs open. Never found having only 2 or 3 outlets was problem once our USB powered items were taken care of (waterpik, toothbrush and two phones). The USB items can swap out for charging.
  10. You can go online and place another bid for any class of cabin that is offered. Just understand your prior bid was applied to your veranda cabin.
  11. The system, the real issue and a solution. When you bid in move up there are an undetermined number of cabins available. Nobody knows exactly how many because there are always last minute cancelations. You bid an amout you are willing to pay for an upgraded cabin. Celebrity and the marketing company look at the numbers and set minimum bids. Celebrity then declares winners at a time it chooses to the highest bidders. Of course people get outbid. Of course the highest bids get upgraded. The rub for some is the notifications some are getting (apparently immediately or very soon after bidding) that they have been outbid. How was the OP harmed? His bid was not high enough to be a winner. Is it better to know sooner rather than later? An action would be best, but moving someone from Aqua to a suite opens an Aqua cabin for another move up. Without an exact number of cabins available a pure auction won't work. The only issue seems to be notifications of under bids. Are all under bidders notified and given an opportunitytoraise their bid? If not there is a fairness issue that is easily solved. If people are upset about this then they should contact Celebrity and if not then let it go.
  12. Other than Australia, easy to travel to almost anywhere in the World. The requirements to travel are little different in most countries for those that are vaccinated than pre covid. Just got back from a trip to Europe and Canada. No restrictions, no covid requirement and no visa.
  13. If you think the email about raising your bid is wrong then let Celebrity executive office know. I personally buy a cabin where I will be happy and bid if I might snag a bargain. The problem is are all underbidders sent an email giving them the choice to bid again? What does pending really mean? FWIW won two bids. Did not win one other. Have never had a bid shown as pending.
  14. There are two main airline booking systems and the two do not communicate well. With all the changes one needs to either book directly with each airline or check the airline websites. Notifying consolidators of flight changes is not a priority today. For example have flights booked with TAP. The US segment is on American. I get changes from TAP, but only on their flights - not the codeshare American flight.
  15. Not any longer. Suites and Zenith have priority checkin. They board immediately after checkin. Everyone else has a checkin time. They are supposed to not check you in till your arrival time. When you are checked in you board. I 100% agree this is not always followed. Elites and Elite+ had no priority boarding on our recent Summit cruise
  16. FWIW, after 6 weeks showed no booking number found on either the App or Princess.com. Simply called Princess and they took all my details and uploaded photos so my check in is green lane. All complete. Give it a couple days and if still an issue give them a call.
  17. To the OP. Ships time is almost always local time. If it deviates you will be told several times. In 20+ cruises only happened involving Newfoundland which has its own time zone.
  18. Yes they could if a major issue came up move you, but it would not be part of the bidding process. We were told we needed to move to a higher class of cabin due to a plumbing problem. Were upgraded and given OBC. This rarely happens.
  19. My DW and I have numerous cruises. Mostly on Celebrity. We are used to 7pm theatre shows and 8pm "late dining". Also the theatre while often full accommodates about 40% of passengers. It seems Princess main shows are 8 and10pm. A 10pm show is too late so???? Can you eat after the early show? Then no fixed seating times except very early unless a table for 2. Happy to eat with my wife but do that alone at home. Would like to eat with others. This is a 15 day Christmas/New Years on Emerald. Can we simply sort this out after we board? Will the early theater show be full? Thoughts and suggestions please.
  20. You do know that AON has no incentive to resolve claims fast. Precovid a site claim was 8 weeks. Today could be months. AON and other insurers will eventually get around to the claims. Feels today that multiple calls just gets a claim returning to the bottom of the pile. Regulatory complaints actually put things on hold, so don't raise that until after they finally settle.
  21. A do not miss adventure. You need to arrive in Seward a day ahead to do this one correctly. As for ship run excursions, too early as getting operators set back up is difficult.
  22. We looked at FBC for an international flight. Called another consolidator. The other provider was cheaper for business class. As said do your homework. A consolidator with a group block will be cheapest whether FBC or someone else.
  23. X am sure has priorities other than getting your phone or watch to open your door. But with the website having a few problems - some of which have lasted for DECADES - hope they will by 2030 get the existing app to work. My phone stays in the cabin. The app is great for menus but do you want to carry your phone everywhere? The Princess Medallion is ok as I can put it in my pocket, but prefer my Seapass card. Works fine. When it falls apart they give me a new one. When (not if) I misplace it they give me a new one.
