  1. In a restaurant in the USA yes, usually, complimentary soda refills. but I thought you were asking about on your cruise in the main dining room. So I guess you need to give us more information to answer your question. Pretty sure you said you wanted to buy soda individually and you wanted to consume it in the main dining room and you were wondering about free refills ?
  2. If you have a “package “, then probably yes. If buying soda as you go, I believe it is in a can and not from the fountain, so no complimentary refills in main DR. correct me if wrong.
  3. No your daughter will not be required to wear the medallion, just carry it with you or someone in your “party”.
  4. There is a Live from the Crown February 15 that the OP said they were upgraded and their medallion didn’t open their original cabin so they had to go to guest services and figure it out and they were told then that they were upgraded from an interior to a balcony cabin. They didn’t mention anything about their luggage ,if their luggage made it to their new room or their old room. Assuming they still had bag tags on with their interior cabins information . So I would say that is pretty late notice.
  5. Hope your next flight goes smoothly. Enjoy your cruise. I have a friend getting off the Crown Princess tomorrow morning. The only thing I know is they missed their last port/island because of high winds and or weather and she said the crossing coming back has been pretty rough. But I’ve heard minimal about their cruise.
  6. Okay, I was just pointing out that specialty coffee is not expensive on Princess, in my opinion. I was just looking out for you, didn’t want you to have to survive on regular coffee. You deserve at least 1 specialty coffee on your cruise. Enjoy your cruise
  7. If you purchase specialty coffees each time you desire one( pay as you drink- not coffee package) i think the price is reasonable ,definitely cheaper than the big name shops on land. So you can have your Elite set up of pop/ soda and water ( gratis) and specialty coffees for a good price.
  8. Yes I see this about longshoreman ,but I think my question is -are the people at the curb handling your luggage for a cruise and putting it in a cart are they longshoreman or are they Porter’s? Who knows. Guess I still see longshoremans job different, but I have no idea ? I guess I thought they did more of the behind the scene things for cruise ships like working forklifts. and the cranes for cargo ships etc. to off load and load containers? So a longshoreman in San Pedro making $70,000 a year -if they work all year that’s about $33 an hour ,I don’t think that’s a lot of money, but decent, sort of.But I guess we will never know if the guys and gals at the curb for a cruise ship are longshoreman or paid much less than that. Because I doubt any of us are going to ask them how much they make per hour, so then we can decide to give a tip or not. I know the initial thread was about tipping for cruise baggage and I guess I still say totally up to you.
  9. Thanks- as I said in my post she will have already purchased or included in a package Princess Wi-Fi so we’re good there and she already has WhatsApp downloaded on her phone. She just doesn’t use WhatsApp on a daily basis and has never used it on a cruise so that’s why I needed the sequence of how to actually text someone from the ship using WhatsApp. Thank you so much for the step by step instructions that’s exactly what she’ll need. If anyone has any more instructions/ steps , I’ll gladly take them and pass them along to her.
  10. I usually do give the baggage handlers a tip when I cruise. But I’m just thinking out loud here. Aren’t the baggage handlers called porters when you go on a cruise ship? I have no idea how much they make per hour or if their job is a temporary one, etc. I think they make significantly less than longshoreman. Don’t longshoreman work forklifts ,containers on & off ships and equipment like that ,so therefore they get paid more? I’m just trying to figure out when people say they don’t tip because they make a lot of money -the longshoreman ,just curious if the people at the curb handling your bags are really porters and make a lot less than you think. I have no idea .I have not researched this ,but I say no matter where you are ( restaurant, coffee shop, hotel, rideshare )tip what you feel like , up to each individual what they do. Is it possible that we never have the opportunity to tip longshoremen because they “work “behind the scenes getting our bags onto the ship??
  11. OK -I’m asking for my mom who’s going on a cruise soon .how does she put her iPhone into what settings to use WhatsApp on the ship? She has WhatsApp downloaded onto her phone already. She will have the princess Wi-Fi access/ package. So she needs to be in airplane mode? She doesn’t plan on using the phone for phone calls while on the ship, but she’ll probably use the phone in Port to call. So I’m just trying to see what steps she needs to do. Thank you
  12. This is one of the bouquets I brought onboard Princess in San Pedro . Although not roses, makes for a cheery cabin.
  13. NavyCruiser- Make sure you check back in here, either during your cruise or after and let us know which way you went as far as bringing on your own roses or purchasing them once onboard. I’m sure it will be helpful information for those that would like to do the same thing in Galveston.
  14. I have done it several times in San Pedro ,California enbarking. Have no idea about Galveston since it’s a New port for Princess, but definitely try it. And yes you can always wait till you get on board to order flowers. I know the only thing that you cannot do is take the flowers off. But by the time your cruise is over most people don’t want to take them off ,they are pretty much “gone/dead”. Sorry about the person who’s Rose was thrown away in Fort Lauderdale port.
  15. Palazzo/ Venetian has a Casino affiliation. They give Princess cruises out ,based on status/ play in their casino.Parking in Vegas, I don’t believe so.
  16. Great great Live from, enjoyed reading. I am missing the daily read, I don’t think anybody else has a Live from right now. Can’t wait till your next cruise blog that I can do some armchair cruising.
  17. Well I’m glad you were able to find a tour to go on in Barbados ,at least that’s what it sounds like you did. And totally agree -very difficult to know from the small print if you really can go on the tour or not especially when you see it online . But usually when I’ve seen tours online they have the same tour offered for wheelchair/Mobility walkers. Glad you persisted at the tour desk.
  18. 1-800 774-6237, but I doubt they’re going to have anything on file for you. Are you saying it came through as an email on your Princess account? I honestly don’t think I would worry about it ,if you don’t see a credit card charge ( deposit)on any of your credit cards .I wouldn’t worry about this ,it’s a scam . Do you have a princess captains circle account? If you do ,go into that and you should be able to see any booked cruises and the details. I do see that the op posted today that they just booked a March 3rd cruise ( Emerald Princess roll call) and posted on a roll call, so......?? Op may very well need to pay for a cruise that they just booked because it’s already past final payment for a March 3 cruise , but this thread is becoming crazier and crazier.
  19. Maybe a scam to get your credit card information? Sounds .... The only phone number that you should be using is the cruise lines ( whatever line that may be )published phone number, but if you don’t have a credit card that was charged for a deposit ,then I would say this is a scam . How did you get notified that you were booked on a cruise with $7000 due ?
  20. How about dispute the charge(s) to your credit card,if you have not already. while onboard what were you told would happen to your cancelled dinner reservation(s) that was pre paid? Why were you not accommodated at the restaurant? How many restaurants did you prepay for? I would just get the credit card company involved ,they will figure out everything for you. You paid for services not given. The op already posted this in another thread this same issue right after they got off ship- didn’t really answer anybody’s comments except to say that the restaurant told him they canceled the reservation and didn’t have room to accommodate them due to operational reasons . sounds??? ....
  21. Looks like the op is on the cruise now and tour desk is not helpful? Agree if only a walker should be able to book an available tour.
  22. Perhaps you can enlighten us about why you want to see the dining room manager on embarkation day?Others that Have had the same experience might be able to help you or direct you to the right answer.
  23. On embarkation day the International dining room should be open noon to 1:30 pm. f1jon- try to find D.R. manager in that dining room.
