  1. Does the lane color thing matter if you have filled out all the right information?
  2. Ah, okay. I might have been wrong. I hadn't looked in a while. 🙂
  3. No, I wasn't joking, there was a big thread about it, but it doesn't appear they hiked it as much as at that previous sale. I think the "normal" price for premium is like $86 and the Classic is $70, so looks like probably around 25-30%. There really should be some law about raising prices, then offering sales. But all the retailers are doing it, so why not the cruise lines.
  4. Is this where they raise prices 50% then discount 50% like they did Memorial Day sale?
  5. Love the review so far. Yikes on those in room drink prices. I'll bring my own soda. Thanks for sharing. Getting some good tips for our October cruise!
  6. You either need one with a European plug, or buy a European to US adapter, plug the adapter into the wall, then the extension cord.
  7. We have a couple of European adapters I bring. On some of the ships, you can get to the plug for the bed table light on each side and plug it in and have access to electricity that way without cables strung across the cabin. Not sure about the newer ships though. I have extension cords similar to the ones above with both outlet and USB. They are not surge protected though. You can buy them on Amazon. I typically use the European adapter, then plug in the extension cord, and now I have electric and USB right on the table besides the bed.
  8. Well, like I said, food is subjective. I would not be happy going to the buffet and only having chicken nuggets and french fries. But I get the point. As I said in my above post, with costs high and going higher, the quality of everything is going to diminish. Celebrity, or any cruise line charging higher prices, doesn't mean that the quality of the product will get better unfortunately. I think with the pricing as it is now, they are trying to pocket as much money as they can while diminishing the product as much as possible while retaining the majority of existing customers and still attracting new ones. As far as Cal, he has his elite freshman class again, so I will ride this roller coaster one more time. Congrats on the Michigan kid. Might be the difference maker.
  9. My comment was about my family, not cruisers in general. Trust me, I want the best food I can get. But food taste and presentation is really too subjective a subject. Everyone sees it differently. I think with costs sky high, quality of everything will suffer.
  10. We were on the Regal with PCA last year. They certainly had events, but I never noticed anything roped off or closed myself, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I think they had events in the Theater during the day when it was unused. If I recall there were between 600-800 onboard. With that said, we hang out by the pool during the day, so none of their activities impacted our cruise.
  11. Yes. Or you could take your own soda and save even more. At least that is what we do.
  12. Yep, was about to mention, you can get stuff in ports and bring on. The crew doesn't care, so if you don't have enough at embarkation, you can get more at stops should you need it.
  13. Skylight gave you the language on the site, but personal experience tells me you can bring more soda than that if you want. I haven't tried bottled water, but doubt they would stop you. I have brought 3 12 packs without issue. The security people nor Princess people care.
  14. Great to hear, thank you. We are going to get off the plane, have our taxi or uber stop at a grocery store, and stock up before heading to the terminal. I debated about putting some in the luggage for porters, but don't want anything busted open in the suitcase.
  15. I value someone's personal experience. How can anyone dispute it, unless they were right beside you the whole time. 😀
  16. Following. Doing this itinerary next month. Have only done one Celebrity cruise, so apologies for questions. Your room key, you pick it up in your room and not prior to boarding? Anyone have experience bringing your own water and soda onboard at embarkation? Carry on or check with porters? We did not get a package, so bringing our own.
  17. We are not foodies, but have never gone hungry on any cruise we have been on. My expectations are just to have a few options to choose from and that's good enough for us.
  18. I suspect they haven't notified of changes because they have none currently to notify. Hurricanes change paths quickly, so they don't necessarily make changes until they have reasonable assurance it's needed.
  19. Assuming everything is on time, that time should be fine. We've done it many times, but usually with flights closer to 10am. Last year, we didn't get off the ship till 8:20am because of delays getting to FLL, but got to the airport at 8:45 and inside, and found a Delta rep who took us an others ahead of the standard line and we made the flight by about 5 minutes. Closest call I've ever had.
  20. The internet computers in the IC are not free internet usage. You have to log in just like you do on your phone/tablet/PC.
  21. I've been on one Celebrity cruise, so not a lot of data. Actually have another next month. But been on Princess 26 times. When I booked my Celebrity cruise last year, the Celebrity forum people responding to my questions all assured me that the food on Celebrity was immensely better than on Princess, but I found it to be basically the exact same. We were on a smaller ship, so less options in places like the buffet. I found the food to be adequate, but not special. Same as I view with Princess.
  22. We bought it back in 2010 for like $29, and have gotten all that money back in OBC from the benefit. I'm not going to be surprised if because of how cheap it is, and so many people buying it for the OBC now a days that they don't stop it at some point.
  23. Emerald and Ruby are sister ships, Emerald is about 1 year older. Both are great. We did panama canal on Emerald earlier this year and had a good time.
