  1. Buenos Diaz Amigos, Yesterday was a rain out! Enough for the second night we cancelled dinner reservation at a nearby walk to restaurant. There were brave souls that didn’t let rain stop them from using the pool but not us. For most of the day we read but we had a heavy lunch on site that did require a siesta. The lunch was enough we skipped dinner. So we may get a couple of hours poolside this morning. Currently 74 F. Obviously and outdoor shower with lots of people may take place today but hope the weatherman is wrong. I know of no jerks in my life so that doesn’t apply. Continued concerns, thoughts and prayers on our Care List and we have a pretty long list in our own lives. We’ll see if we can connect to our on line church service this morning. Have a great day! Bruce
  2. @cat shepard Sympathies for you and your family on the passing of your nephew! Bruce
  3. We are so proud of ourselves that we did not take the bait. Actually, the last and final offer was pretty good but we remained steadfast. The day appears to be a rainout and the 75 F cold front is actually cool with the wind!
  4. Egg shortage? Saw that one of the largest poultry/egg farm’s in America burned down this week in a 22 alarm fire. Over 100,000 chickens perished! https://www.wcvb.com/article/connecticut-egg-farm-fire-100-thousand-hens-killed/42725579
  5. Good Morning! Yesterday was a very nice day but around 5:30 the skies opened up and we had a deluge! We had dinner reservations but cancelled as we would have gotten soaked even with rain jackets! Ate at one of our resort restaurants and it was pretty good. Received an alert on the phone that a cold front is coming our way. Checked out the hourly forecast and I guess today’s high of 75 is considered cold? This morning we have to attend the dreaded time share sales pitch. We will not succumb and purchase more points. Anyway it doesn’t look like much of an outdoor activity day with more rain in forecast. I believe we are going to today’s port of call on the Eurodam in April. Thanks Sandi and all who contribute. Have a great weekend. Bruce
  6. Big Bopper-Chantilly Lace got a pretty face a pony tail hanging down a wiggle in her walk makes the world go round and round. At least I think he did that song. When we were at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM we toured Norman Petty’s recording studio’s where Buddy Holley and Crickets recorded some of their songs Every year Clovis would have a music festival. Remember a very young Lee Ann Rimes singing, Bobby Vee and others….
  7. @StLouisCruisersWe return home Feb 14 so we’ll be waving afar! You’ll be here! Today’s sunrise!
  8. Hola! Just getting up awaiting coffee before, at least the morning, lounging by the pool. Afternoon may bring some rain. We had a relaxing day yesterday and Sue cooked a delicious dinner which we enjoyed on our balcony. Saw a couple of cruise ships sailing by after probably a day in Cozumel. No tours or excursions planned this trip as over the years of coming here, we have pretty much seen it all. Thanks Sandi for your volunteerism and getting the Daily started. We are enjoying our Blessed life! Have a great Friday. Bruce
  9. Rich, First of all thanks for taking us along on your Grand Adventure. Is it everything you thought it would be? Trying to get a feel for our next year first 155 day World Cruise on another cruise line?
  10. A little TMI Roy!😁Our only info is what you have told us. To us you have been very sick weak an immobile. We care!
  11. Roy I’m glad you’re home but like others I felt you pushed yourself too much today. I’m sure the folks at the firehouse could have done some of those errands. If not friends relatives or someone. One day ago you needed assistance to get out of bed and walk. Take it easy and give your body time to heal. Hope I didn’t overstep on advice.
  12. Good morning! After a relaxing and beautiful day by the pool we walked to a very popular restaurant called efishetangas and dined Al fresco. Had a light meal of soft shell crab tacos and enjoyed a fireball sunset. Today more beach/pool time and tonight we will prepare our own dinner. Santorini is beautiful but always crowded and a little too touristy but is still a special place to visit. Sandi thanks for starting the Daily. Hope you enjoy it because it can become a full time job. Sometimes I question how many visits do I make to this blog!😱 Me thinks it may be addictive! Roy I do hope you had a restful night and that you are properly able to take care of yourself. Life is good. Have a great day! Bruce
  13. We cruised in an Onward Club Continent Suite for twelve days in January. Everything worked as advertised with the exception of those cheap and very uncomfortable balcony chairs. We have cruised on other lines and a luxury River cruise since cruising resumed post pandemic and and they all had supply and personnel issues. Some new crew members on every line needed to be trained. Veteran crew members having difficulty returning due to slow visa processing. Supply issues everywhere. You get what you can get. So we understand this and enjoy our cruise experiences knowing at times it’s not like it used to be but to us is still a wonderful experience and what we love to do. Our dining was fine, food was served warm. Like most of the entertainment and in general were treated and cared for by the crew like we’ve grown to expect. When this ship started cruising last May it had gone through the Perfect Storm. We were shown pictures from fellow guest that were on the inaugural. Many of the work crew on renovation were from Ukraine and chose to go home and defend the homeland, supply issues galore and still an issue. So this was our test run on Onward and we booked the cabin that we are booked for a 155 days on next years World Journey. Believe me if our experience was that bad we would not be spending that type of money. We have over 500 days of cruising on other lines and we really have enjoyed our Azamara cruising experience and looking forward to more. Next up Journey for intensive Spain and France back to backs. Can’t wait. Don’t set the bar so high it can’t be reached and be tolerant and patient during these different times. We have only done two Azamara cruises and if it not enjoyable we would move on. So far we are happy cruisers.🛳
  14. For those dealing with freezing weather and sleet and ice there is relief a three hour flight away. Roy I was happy to hear your being discharged today. Get lot’s of rest and drink lot’s of water to help thin out the phlegm in your lungs.
  15. Roy you like sunrises. So here’s today’s sunrise in Cancun! Get well soon!
  16. Buenos Diaz! Up early as neither of us slept well. It was quite the adventure getting here yesterday but in the end we were four hours late and our bags arrived with us. After checking in we went to the pool side cafe for a late snack. Ended up having octopus, purple onion, asparagus pizza. First time for that type pizza and it was pretty good. Octopus is pretty common down here. I thought Red Neck Bob would have more to say about spunky old broads rather then Baked (sloshy)Alaska!😁 Waiting for our sunrise which is kind of late at 7:30. Main objective is have coffee and breakfast then hang out by the pool all day and maybe a dip in the Caribbean Sea! Did see a couple of cruise ships pass by last night which is pretty common when we visit here. Thanks Sandi for getting The Daily started. I hope today finds Roy and Jacqui doing better.
  17. A little late but we have arrived Cancun and it’s warm!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  18. It’s turning out to being a long day of travel. Didn’t make first flight due to weather. Got to a rebooked to Atlanta and as we were boarding the plane the next plane was declared dead and a no go. Changed terminal and now awaiting another flight to Cancun. Hopefully this one is a go!
  19. Good morning! Due to dense fog we will be dealing with flight delays all day. So more hours in airports than expected. Just need to remember we are not in charge! It’s Cancún or bust!😎 Thanks Sandi for filling in. Roy hope your getting better and thoughts and prayers for those on our Care List.
  20. Good morning! Roy, like others I’m not sure what that nurse was getting at. Hopefully, you’ll get a better prognosis when your doctor makes rounds. Our Sunday was filled by watching football. Not much on the schedule today other than final packing and house prep. It’s an early flight to Atlanta tomorrow and our kind neighbor is picking us up at 4:30 AM!😱 Then it’s about a two and a half hour flight to Cancun. A big thanks to Sandi for keeping the Daily running and prayers for those on the Care List. Have a great week. Bruce
  21. Yes they merged a couple of years ago and because of that it gives us more options. Our other time share is the Marriott Waiohai on Poipu Beach, Kauai which we are deeded owners. Lagunamar was strictly Westin when we first purchased. This visit we took advantage of an offer that we could stay an extra five days for $250.00 if we sit through the dreaded time share buy more points sales pitch! No way we are buying into any more time share points but the offer was to good to turn down. Enjoy your visit to Luxor. That is where we stayed on our last visit to Vegas.
