  1. @kochleffelThank you for starting the Fleet Report and Care List. If you didn’t see one of my late post on yesterdays Daily we witnessed a sad event as a mature man drowned while swimming in red flag conditions. Lifeguard performed CPR for a long time to no avail. Sad and so unnecessary. Another beautiful day in the neighborhood and we are already lounging poolside! Great place to start the day and enjoy the sunrise. Last night we grilled Bang Bang Chicken Kababs and tonight a couple of NY Strips we bought at the market. Have a great day and weekend. Bruce
  2. Prime C on our recent Onward cruise we enjoyed an excellent Chateaubriand. Another night we had their special of the night Dover Sole which was good. Turns out the Dover Sole in Aqualina was even better. Had Steak Diane in Prime C one night and it was good but it had a little flavor of being cooked in a well used burnt pan or flattop which distracted from a very good dish Same taste on steak I had in Prime C. So both were good but not outstanding.
  3. Sad afternoon today in Cancun but we had a swimmer ignore the red flags and watched lifeguards apply CPR for a long time to no avail. This happens too often at our local beaches in Florida. If red flags are flying you should not be swimming. Ignore and you may end up on the ultimate ruined vacation.
  4. More doomsday postings! The cruise lines we have cruised post pandemic have all reported staff shortages due to many former cruise members found new careers and there are backlogs on visa processing for veterans. We have been told that on Scenic, Azamara and Holland. That also results in rookie crew members that need to learn the standards. If you’re cruising, expecting it will be just like 2015 you may be disappointed. There continues to be supply shortages, some cutbacks etc. I will let you in on a little secret! We still had a great time. Sure we noticed some changes. You just need to not set your expectations so high that they can’t be reached. If you don’t like how a cruise line is running then try a new one. Hal is a great cruise line and we have enjoyed close to 500 days cruising with them. Our issue was we were getting rather bored with repetitious same onboard scenario. So we have dipped in other lines but still have some Hal bookings. We all have choices.
  5. Good morning! Not much news here! We sit by the pool, use the large hot tub, cool off in the pool, sip on a cocktail and read and surf the web. No web surfing from ten to one as we all received notice the resort will be working on their WiFi system. We still have T-Mobile! Evidently this lounging by the pool is tiring as it sure seems lights out is eight PM! Sue made us a delicious pizza last night which the leftovers will be our poolside lunch. Who would ever want to celebrate toothache day? Thanks Sandi, Rich and Roy for making it happen and our special Food and Beverage reporters! Debbie that chicken recipe yesterday looked so good I saved it and will try on grill at home.
  6. Just an outstanding cruise blog. Again thank you very much. Giving us ideas for our WC next January.
  7. Ouch! No wonder you’re hurting. Let’s hope for quick healing! Take it easy.
  8. Roy here’s your morning sunrise over a rough Caribbean Sea! Hope your feeling better.
  9. Good morning! It’s currently 78 degrees and quite breezy but no rain in forecast. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at a Japanese restaurant. It really had some exotic and very good sushi. This was Sue’s delayed birthday dinner and it was a special evening in a beautiful setting, We had some cruise ships pass yesterday way off on the horizon. The daily routine of enjoying the beach and sea will continue. Our spot is fairly shaded and we are slathered with 70 SPF sunscreen. Getting a tan is not as important now as when we were young. I made it through ten minutes of the State Of The Union address last night before succumbing to the need for sleep. I do hope everyone on Care list is improving and we can go a few days without anyone being added to list. Thanks Sandi for helping out and Rich it sounds like your having a grand time on the World Cruise, Enjoy beautiful Sydney!
  10. Kia Ora my friends. I hope all is going well with both of you? Are you cruising again?
  11. Graham your up late? Are you staying up for our POTUS State Of The Union Address?😁
  12. Michelin rated Japanese restaurant that has a very nice view and beautiful venue. It’s DW’s belated birthday dinner!
  13. Men and women in blue! Sad news and the media will hardly cover it.
  14. Hola! Just beginning to stir here in Cancun. We enjoyed a delightful chicken pasta dish last night. Eating on the balcony, with the view and a good wine added to the ambiance. It’s going to be a nice day so we’ll be headed to the pool early to get our favorite spot. Chaise Lounge hogging is closely monitored and controlled here. So many just arrive at six get their preferred seating and start the day by the pool. We are dining out tonight at a restaurant across the street from us.Other than that, we are pretty much following our routine of lounging, reading and of course following the Daily! Prayers for all and hoping no one else is added to the Care List today. Be careful as it’s slippery in many cases or there are many things to trip over. Enjoy your day! Bruce
  15. In discussion with each other we enjoyed both whites and reds but usually any wine tour will adapt to personal taste or restrictions. I remember our tour also included a fantastic lunch at the top resort/restaurant on the island. B. PS: any tour requires a beautiful ferry ride to the island.
  16. In Auckland Waiheke Island offers some great wine tours! In Mexico and don’t have access to the private just us tour we used but there are many options. Google.
  17. If you remember I had pneumonia after Thanksgiving and strength and recovery does take time. It’s now Feb and I still have minor hacking now and then. Time heals but the older we get it takes time. 🙏 Prayers Bud!
