  1. I also LOVE the Doubletree, but only some of the rooms offer a view of the port. Choose your room wisely - you may need to pay extra for the view. Plus the pool area t the hotel is great! If you want a hotel with a view of the ocean/beach you will need to stay in Miami Beach.
  2. For and 11:00 flight you need to be at MIA by about 9:00 - earlier is better with the typical TSA chaos (Clear? Precheck?). The cab ride from POM to MIA takes about 20 minutes - so that translates into off the ship, with bags, and clear of customs/immigration by about 8:30 or earlier. Carry your bags off and you should be okay.
  3. Taxi should be about $30 on the meter - Uber or Lyft should be less unless surge pricing affects pricing.
  4. I would add Paradise Beach to the list - your kids will love the HUGE pool and beach toys.
  5. Yes, cabs will be lined up waiting for customers. Insist on using the meter - the fare should be about $15-20
  6. Sleep in, enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR and be among the last to leave the ship. Cabs will be available and UBER or Lyft are always an option.
  7. Since Covid the answer is none. You can choose a downtown location (Avis and Budget) and they usually shuttle you to the port. From MIA your best bet is a taxi or Uber/Lyft.
  8. Have you looked at using a shuttle instead of renting a car - less hassle and could get you on the road earlier. Taxi or Uber/Lyft are other options.
  9. Cruise Control, Cocoa Beach Shuttle and Cortrans are often suggested shared shuttle operators. You can stay in either location, but the later in the day you arrive the fewer shuttle lotions you will find - or follow Corby's advice and rent a car one-way and then stay/dine/shop where you want; all of the car rental operations near the port will shuttle you to the port after you return the car.
  10. Welcome to the boards! 😎 The drive from Orlando to PC takes about 50-60 minutes - you will need to arrange your own transport. Cruise Control, Cocoa Beach Shuttle and Cortrans are often suggested on this board - or rent a car one-way or use Uber/Lyft. General advice if arriving late is to stay near MCO and head to PC the next day. Arriving early then you can stay in either location - your call.
  11. No beach, but a great view and no cover charge at Money Bar. Good food and drinks, lots of loungers, good facilities and good (not great) snorkeling from the shore.
  12. TPA is about a 15+ minute ride from the port - not quite as close as PE/FLL, but almost.
  13. UberX - good for 2-3 passengers and bags - should cost about $65+tip
  14. Taxi -including van and SUV cabs - should be about $75-80+ on the meter from FLL to downtown Miami hotels.
  15. SUV and minivan taxis are available - same fare. You may need to wait in line for a larger cab to come to the front for your party. Flate rate fares between POM and MIA went away - expect the meter to be about $30+ UberXL or Lyft may be cheaper - or surge pricing may make the taxi cheaper.
  16. Taxi PE to FLL is about $15+ on the meter - UberX should be less by a bit, but surge pricing can drive up the costs.
  17. There will be taxis waiting at both POM (where your cruise ends) and MIA (Miami International Airport) - the title on your post is a bit confusing. Have a great cruise! 😎
  18. South FL is the only one I recall seeing mentioned on this board - and with consistently good reviews. Or split your group into 2 van cabs (ask the hotel front desk to call - they know who is reliable)
  19. Take the first cab in line - don't wait for an Uber or limo driver to show up.
  20. www.resortpass.com will link you to hotels and large resorts selling day passes to their spa/pool/beach areas. Tip them to store your bags while you swim and relax and grab some lunch.
  21. There will be a line of cabs waiting as you exit the terminal with bags.
  22. If you don't want to use timeshare a taxi from MIA to FLL area will run about $75-80+ on the meter. There will be a line of cabs waiting outside of the airport.
  23. The common advice here's is park at POM. Too many stories of no show shuttles, lost reservations and damaged cars to risk off site parking in Miami. Hope your cruise went better than your parking experience.
