  1. Thanks....I was fortunate and only had symptoms of a light cold and they only lasted a few days. And....you're right about not being able to escape the virus. All one can do is make your best effort to protect yourself.
  2. Thanks for doing a "live from" thread. We were on the Apex TA and loved the ship, Retreat and Luminae! Then I quarantined on the following British Isles cruise.
  3. A Spa treatment.....especially a massage....should be relaxing. I get that they want to sell product but you shouldn't have to say you're not interested more than once. That's why I say it BEFORE the treatment.....and, for me, that's worked.
  4. Following threads and reading in preparation for a cruise in 2023 I'm sure is helpful to your planning. Have you cruised since the Pandemic? If not, then your information is 2nd hand and maybe not as helpful to others as you think it might be. Cruisers are looking for what's happening onboard now.
  5. On the rare occasion I go to the spa for a service I tell them nicely, before the service, that I don't want any products. It's worked, as recently as May, on Celebrity.
  6. As Jim said reach out to the Celebrity Engagement Center and also be sure to get a letter from the ship outlining what is being offered. I didn't get my letter until AFTER I was in quarantine. I initially emailed Celebrity Engagement Center on May 28 and received no reply. Then I called and was told my travel agent needed to handle the refund so I referred it to him on June 5. @Jim_Iain then shared this phone # 888 305- 1427 and I spoke to Kenneth on June 10. He was very helpful and started the process for the refund. He couldn't tell me how much the refund would be as my booking was with a travel agent but, eventually, the refund posted to my credit card. It shouldn't be this difficult and hope your experience goes well. Safe travels home too.
  7. I'm sorry to hear you're in quarantine on deck 3. I tested positive on the next to last day of the Apex TA and quarantined on the following cruise. I'd heard that those who tested positive earlier in the cruise were moved to deck 3 but for the next cruise they moved cruisers who were on deck 6 to other decks and made a large part of deck 6 the quarantine area. Percent positive was over 3% per the Captain on the TA and, sadly, they did not test b2b cruisers so # of positives continued on the following cruise. I know there were around 50 on deck 6 when I was there and that didn't account for those who chose to quarantine in Amsterdam or found out they were positive when they tested to fly home. (which was still required mid-end of May). I agree that many will not self report now due to stress of quarantine and also because a negative test isn't required to fly back to the US. Hope you're out of quarantine soon and sorry you've had to quarantine in a room without any fresh air.
  8. It was the same with me when I tested positive on 2nd to last day of the APEX TA. We went on 3 Celebrity excursions. On each bus they passed around a paper with a mapping of seats. You had to put your name/cabin # in the box for your seat. We thought it was for contract tracing......but guess not....as I found out "after quarantine" that a couple we sat across from on an excursion a couple of days before I tested positive both had covid and quarantined, like I did, on the next cruise. We were also in contact with some who we dined next to in Luminae and they were said they weren't contacted either. They also didn't do b2b testing between the TA and the following British Isles cruise,
  9. On our recent APEX TA I was disappointed, and surprised, that they had no Hard Seltzer of any kind.
  10. Not saying CA wasn't big on testing....just that our experience for "free" travel testing wasn't that of other parts of the country, like Florida, where you live.
  11. In our part of So Cal neither CVS, Walgreens or other sites....including our medical provider... ever offered Covid Testing for travel at no cost.
  12. Note that I said "What Air2Sea can also do is TRY to get you on another airlines flight". I'm well aware what Air2Sea is and, yes, it's possible for them to put you on another Carrier's flight.....not guaranteed, but possible. I know from personal experience.
  13. With an Air@Sea booking you can use your Travel Insurance. What Air2Sea can also do is try to get you on another airlines flight....giving you more options to get there. The real problems are with the airlines.....flight cancellations/delayed/rerouting etc. And you don't always save $$$ booking on your own. Open jaw flights like 1 way from/to the US are usually less $$ with Air2Sea.
  14. I've found it works when browsing but with a cruise booked through a TA sometime yes/sometimes no. Royal Caribbean Air2Sea
  15. In today's world it's up to the consumer to be vigilant and check your seat assignment every time you're notified of a flight time change. Many times the plane is also be changed. We're on our 4th change for a return flight after a TA in October. Good thing I'm checking as I had to choose seats.....again.
  16. Was it Cherry Pie Pinot Noir? If so, that's a great wine. Have you seen it in Costco for $8. I'm in CA and would love to be able to get it for that price.
  17. We had a day before non-stop flight from LAX - FLL for our APEX transatlantic last month booked with Flights by Celebrity until the airline cancelled the flight. We were then given a red-eye flight from LAX-Seattle-FLL arriving at 7am the day of the cruise. I said "no way" as we had friends who had the same flight 2 weeks prior, got diverted to Portland and then had no way to get to FLL. They missed their TA cruise. I told FBC that I wouldn't accept that change but would agree to going in 2 days ahead which they were able to get approved. Meant one more night in a hotel....arriving at 7am...but it was worth it. Flying isn't what it used to be and no one needs all that extra stress!
  18. You might find answers to your questions on the Cruise Critic Seabourn Forum
  19. How many ships still have a Concierge Lounge?
  20. I was also on the Apex TA and quarantined on the British Isles cruise. I do know that b2b testing was done at the end of the British Isles cruise.....and, IMHO, should have been done at the end of the TA cruise. Whether they tested between the British Isles and Fjords cruises or the next ones I don't know. I'm sure there were a lot who got a surprise when they tested to fly home. At least that's not needed now.
  21. Was this recently? It's a different situation today as has been reported by other cruisers. Airline flight changes are happening all the time and Celebrity will "help you get to the ship" but there are no guarantees. I know as it happened to a cruising friend and they missed their Transatlantic cruise and had little to no help from Flights by Celebrity/Air2Sea.
  22. I was in quarantine on APEX from May 12 - 22 and food options were Room Service and the MDR.
