  1. Thank you for your concern. Fortunately my husband was never sick....he chose to quarantine with me. My symptoms were very mild and only lasted a couple of day. I did not post whether we could cruise again or not in this current environment but will say we have b2b cruises in Europe mid-Oct. 1st one if the Holy Land followed by a TA back to Florida.
  2. We will have a full day pre-cruise in Civitavecchia. We have done the local sites previously and wanted to do some food/wine tasting in town. I priced a wine tasting tour w/lunch & wine tasting and it was about 200eu per person. Ouch! Any ideas for a local experience are appreciated.
  3. I was in quarantine, on deck 6, at the same time your wife was. Our food experience while not the same as dining in a restaurant....was OK. Yes...sometimes things were missing or food....but brought fairly quickly with a phone call, wasn't "piping hot" but our wine always stayed in the glass. LOL....under the circumstances we felt Celebrity was trying. I learned to be specific in my order and mention "don't forget" if there wasn't something that had been missed for a previous meal. One thing I would have liked was a decent table to eat from. DH and I alternated with the desk and my "make-shift" table. Did you use the # I sent you via PM to reach the Executive Office. Hope you get resolution soon.
  4. Your #1 works if you have enough days left on the cruise to complete your quarantine and/or you're b2b on the next cruise. We were in a Sky Suite when I tested positive on the next to last day of the cruise and were due to fly home 2 days later. There were others who were in a SS and were to be b2b so they were allowed to stay in their cabin. There were enough Covid positive guests who took the offer to stay onboard to complete quarantine on the next cruise and enough empty cabins available that the ship was able to free up the aft starboard side of deck 6 for "quarantine" cabins by moving those who were booked on deck 6 to other decks.
  5. My husband tested negative, was offered his own cabin but opted to quarantine with me in an Infinite Veranda cabin on deck 6 quarantine floor on APEX. After 10 days we both then moved to another Infinite Veranda cabin for the last 2 days of the cruise.....and FREEDOM. While definitely a challenge we were still speaking to each other after so many days of togetherness. One thing that really helped was keeping active. I know it's not easy in a small space but I turned up the music on my phone and danced. My DH walked and walked and walked. During the 10 days he walked 48 miles according to his Fitbit and, surprisingly, the carpet showed no fuzz or ill effects. LOL....
  6. Not just luggage issues but temperature can affect the test. Putting them in your checked luggage means they're in the "cold" cargo hold. The test says to store in temps between 35F - 86F.
  7. @busymumofthree thanks for sharing your experience. Here's a link to mine from my experience in May. From what I know the CDC was not monitoring covid rates on ships sailing from Europe. We were told the ship had reached the 3% rate but I'm convinced it was higher than that.
  8. and free drinks in Suite/Concierge Lounge are from 4:30 - 8:00 or 5:00 - 8:30.
  9. At least you drank what your ordered. Back in the day we observed "several" who ordered several glasses of Courvoisier throughout the time they were in the lounge and poured them into a "to go" glass for later. I also remember seeing lounge eligible cruisers at Chops hop up to go to the lounge to bring more "complimentary" glasses of wine back to their table.....and this before there were drinks loaded on your SeaPass card. Vouchers, to me, are a real benefit and I hope they never go away.
  10. On Navigator we weren't asked for our cards but drinks were charged to our card in the lounge. One night I asked the waiter about it and he said they have the pics of eligible passengers and know who to charge. We all know how good they are with remembering your name.....which has always amazed me.
  11. Except when ports require pre-travel testing in accordance with country regulations.
  12. My husband was very sick with Covid in Aug '21 on a US River cruise....and I did not get it. Fast forward to May '22 and I get Covid on a TA cruise. Thankfully my case was very mild while his wasn't. If Covid wants to find you, it will.
  13. Chatter is that the cruise lines are meeting tomorrow morning. It looks like they may be trying to get a consensus on how to proceed after today's announcement.
  14. Not all ships do a Pineapple cake and the acknowledgement is usually done at a C&A event that is not a party....although it may be called Top Tier Party. Typically there are no Top Tier events/party on 3/4 night cruises. In more recent times I'm happy to see some consistency in how the recognition is being handled. With consistency there isn't disappointment like I've seen in the past when one person/couples recognition was a big event and someone else on another ship.....or even the same ship but a different sailing and had the picture, a bottle of bubbly (or not) and their name announced. In 2012 we were with friends who made Pinnacle. There wasn't one officer at the event to recognize them (officers were at the Suite party) so it wasn't the special recognition that it should have been.
  15. Initially that's what I was told. I called...again...spoke to Kenneth who processed everything but told me he couldn't tell me the amount I'd get back because I was booked with a TA. ??? Kenneth took my CC details and in less than 2 weeks credit showed on my CC. I had calculated it on my own by taking total Cruise payment minus taxes/fees then dividing by # of days of the cruise and that's the same amount that was posted to my CC as a refund. It really shouldn't be this complicated. This worked for me Engagement Center 888 305- 1427
  16. Being able to quarantine in your original cabin may work if there are enough days left in the cruise and/or you're b2b with the next cruise. I know as we were in a S2 on APEX TA when I tested positive with 2 days left in the cruise. There were enough others who tested positive and chose the option of quarantining on the next cruise that they were able to move the potential new guests to a different floor and make a large part of deck 6 (Infinite Veranda) cabins available to those who were going to quarantine. This isn't always possible. I felt fortunate that I was in a cabin that could have fresh air and the huge floor to ceiling windows to look out.
  17. True....and the 1st held with towels etc. for the day.
  18. We're not sun people and found a few shady areas on the Retreat Sun deck. Some do depend on the time of day and direction the ship is going.
  19. We were recently on APEX and there definitely is a children's menu in Luminae as my husband ordered from it. You should be able to find it on the App toward the bottom of the regular Luminae menu. My DH is a non-adventurous eater and on a couple of occasions asked....a day before...if he could have something not on the menu and they were happy to oblige.
  20. I didn't say they scanned your Seapass card but know that they kept track of how many drinks we had.
  21. Not sure when your last cruise was on RCI but, now, with the vouchers you're charged for drinks in the DL.
  22. It was 3% (or higher) toward the end of both the TA and following British Isles cruises in May too. Are they doing b2b testing that you're aware of?
