  1. You should post this also on the Florida departures board under North American Homeports. EM
  2. You can download and print out the forms from the website, then take them to the post office with required documents. That includes a birth certificate. Make sure it is a long form, with parents names…and also not the souvenir certificate from the hospital. I never had a real birth certificate until I was retiring. Thought social security might want to see one, so I ordered one through Vital Check. What came was the short form. But I had had passports since 1970, and used a form that said Notification of Birth Registration. Not only did it get me my first passport, but it got me into the army twice. EM
  3. Welcome to cruise critic. One of the major rules of CC, you cannot name or discuss travel agencies or agents. You might click on the three little dots in the upper right corner of you post, and report…ask the mods to please delete agency names. Also, as all of your questions involve one ship one one line, it is best to post your questions on the board here for that line. A new member might be excused for thinking all those forums under Cruise Lines A-O, etc, are direct links to the cruise line websites. But they are boards where people who sail those lines ask questions and share their experiences. EM For seasickness, I wear sea bands.
  4. For your ports, get a copy of Rick Steve’s’ Mediterranean Cruise Ports. He tells you what there is to do in the port, how to DIY it, and how much you can do in the time you have. He also has one for Scandinavian and Northern European Cruise Ports. For the few ports he doesn’t cover in those books, he recommends Lonely Planet. Lonely Planet is good because you don’t have to buy the whole book, you can go to their website, purchase and download only the chapters you need. Rick Steve’s also has free audio tours to download from his website, and maps to print out. EM
  5. Depends on the numbers. When we had large numbers, CBP came onboard and did us, but with smaller numbers we had to get off. EM
  6. There are a dozen threads on every cruise line forum asking the same question. There are no definitive numbers. Scroll down the pages to see what others have said. EM
  7. Does your child get carsick? If so, what do you do? Children that young do not get seasick, as a generalization. Think of all the time they are carried around, bounced on knees…EM
  8. I see Millie is sailing two different itineraries from San Juan. Only repeated port is Barbados. Too bad you can’t do a B2B. EM
  9. It’s not MSC that requires the zero count, it is US immigration. EM
  10. Getting on the ship in Seattle and leaving in Victoria (Canada) is not a violation of the PVSA. It screws up the manifest for a closed loop cruise, making more paperwork for the cruise line, but there is NO violation. EM
  11. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I booked a cabin for a TA as a solo, paying the double rate. When I added my sister, it only cost the taxes, etc. EM
  12. They had Triumph or Victory there for years before they replaced her with Fascination. But Covid happened, some hurricanes too, and San Juan wasn’t open to anyone for a long time. Guess it’s easy for you from a hub city, but from the coast, it’s nigh impossible. EM
  13. In Alaska, you will note that the port shopping does note that the recommended shops have paid for the promotion. The state of Alaska requires it. One interesting thing about ships that have EFFY shops…they may have a shop on the ship, but they are not one of the recommended port shops, because they don’t pay for it. EM
  14. Viking seems to be making it work, and without casinos, too. P&O-UK used to have two ships that were adults only. I think they still have one. EM
  15. I tried a mock booking for Meraviglia for Oct as a solo and the price for an inside cabin was very good. Can’t remember if it was 4 or 5 days, but YC was under $700 if I chose to splurge. EM
  16. I had a mini-suite on Island Princess, D707. There was a double US outlet just above the baseboard in the entryway, jus before you turn into the closet area. EM
  17. What address, as an ex-pat, do you use for paying income taxes. What country. Or are you dodging that completely? EM
  18. The charges go through a bank in France so you should use a card with no foreign transaction fees. EM
  19. Since you haven’t sailed in 15 years, everything is going to be different. I have one night on NCL and 141 on Carnival. I enjoy the food on Carnival. Your children will be wowed by either ship. Figure in cost and convenience of travel to the departure port. Not all of the budget goes into the cruise itself.
  20. It’s a spectacular sail up the fjord (and back out). We never took a tour, just walked off and into the walled city. Check out guidebooks…not sure if Rick Steve’s covers Kotor, but Lonely Planet does. You will probably want to hike the path/steps up the mountain behind the walled city. Too much exertion for me, even ten years ago. EM
  21. Have you looked on the Celebrity board? Chances are there are reviews of this cabin in the pinned M class cabin sticky there. A review from any of the M class will do. EM
  22. Well, now I know not to wear my Carnival T-shirt when I do my first Royal cruise. I’ll wear my Celebrity shirts, or HAL, or maybe Cunard instead. EM
  23. Hmmm…if Baby Club is 0-3, wouldn’t that mean child would need to be 4 to go to the next group? EM
  24. I couldn’t find any on Fantasy class. Lots of pics of Elation PT cabins, no couch. All classes of ships above that, yes. EM
  25. All cabins have fridge coolers. Don’t know about USB ports. EM
