  1. So happy you are on your cruise after the last 24 hrs. Enjoy and relax in your RS and let your butler take care of you!🎉🥂🥰
  2. Kathleen, I loved our TA back in 2018! Think Spring weather on the crossing.I walked the promenade deck everyday. We did eat outside by the infinity pool some days. It all depended on the wind. I do not remember eating breakfast on our balcony on the crossing but did when we were in the Med. ports.I went back and looked at my pictures. I wore light sweater or jacket in some of the pictures in Madeira, Spain ports.. In Barcelona, it did rain so I bought a very nice umbrella. We only had one day and night when the seas were rolling. I was fine I do not get seasick. I loved having 6 sea days in a row, it was so relaxing, Viking had the pool roof half open some days too. Other days it was closed. Meet so many interesting friendly people , lots of lectures , great food . It was my first Viking Ocean cruise and I fell in love with Viking ships,. been cruising with them ever since. Enjoy your cruise and would love to read about your experience on this forum.. Cheers, Patti.
  3. I am following your trip report. Love that you are on top of the flights etc during this time of change which is now normal. I love PV of all the Mexican cities I have vacationed in during the winter. The absolute best jewelry store in all of Mexico is Alberto's". Their original store is in PV. I have rings I have treasured for years from their shop. Be sure to have a Sangria. They pour it with two different colors in the glass. We always tried to sip it through a straw without mixing the two. Great Memories of PV and Huatulco , Zihuatenago. Cabo was ok but really touristy. Whale watching in PV, in the bay of Banderos, is awesome during the winter. But you need to go in early morning.
  4. Here is the story by HCA. Read it and decide for youself. I plan to see it when in Copenhagen in June 2023. https://andersen.sdu.dk/vaerk/hersholt/TheLittleMermaid_e.html
  5. Thanks for sharing that wonderful memory of Celebrity service above and beyond.
  6. What was the Chef table menu named that did not impressed? I saw yesterday on FB, a picture of a Chef table meal that included lam chops and a sake soaked plums on a lemon cheese cake thing. It looked oh so good. Good luck on your dinner tonight. I have always loved each menu I have had at Chef table but I do look at them before hand to see what is the various sections for the evening.
  7. So happy to see your post! thanks for the updated information. I have been reminiscing about my first Viking cruise , TA on Viking Sea. Thought of you and your lovely wife and all the fun people we met on that sailing. I am organizing my roll call" informal meet and greet", another thing that fell by the wayside with Cruise Critic during the pandemic. Looking forward to our Scenic Scandinavia cruise June 12-22, 2023. Helps me get through our snowy winter here in the North. Cheers! Patti
  8. During pandemic, shared tables were not available of course. Have they now been brought back as an option? I know we had in the past been offered "shared table seating" for lunch and dinner. It was a good way to meet fellow passengers over a meal. My upcoming June cruise is sold out , so hoping this option is available .
  9. I am so enjoying your report of all the days you are cruising and all the fun and relaxation you are having on this vacation. Your pictures are wonderful and keep me smiling while the snowy landscape and cold temps outside my window reminds me I am still in winter.
  10. We are booked in 3065(DV6) for our cruise in June on Viking Jupiter. The cruise is sold out! I am just so happy to have a cruise to look forward to post COVID protocol and all the hoops I had to jump through for those cruises in 2021. 🎉
  11. All Viking ships have this area for guests. I remember using the computer to log in to MY Delta and print my boarding pass pre-covid, There was a pesonf form Guest relations help folks with computer and printer when I was there. I suggest you go to guest relation and ask your specific question when you board. Oops, just saw Jim answer your specific question.
  12. Thank. you for your trip review. I am sorry the rum and wine was limited. And the food was just ok for you. Glad the service of crew was superb as usual. t Was there a resident historian on board or just port talks? I have only stayed on board on sea days and just relaxed on balcony, the area by infinity pool and the spa area. I never do trivia . I love the uppermost deck for view and the various option up there. Best wishes for the New Crystal. In looking at their forum it is filled with posts fromprevious Crystal cruisers. Thanks again for your report.
  13. I am so enjoying your cruise report. The pictures are wonderful. You know how to cruise!!!!!!
  14. I must say you and Jeremy sure know how to start a vacation from the moment you get on the plane. The lunch in FL looks awesome. Looking forward to reports about your dinner...👏
  15. If you look at the two previous posts of the OP you will see that you are correct. The second cruise was on the Viking Sun which was sold. Now OP says their vouchers will expire in a few days.... Welcome to Cruise Critic .
  16. As others have said, the fire can hold one bottle of wine. Have never seem "little" bottles of white wine on the ship. One can also get an ice bucket for your wine. I have done that and it works fine.
  17. Thank your for your trip report. I loved watching the glass blowers when I was on the Equinox. Very cool that your wife got to make a glass piece !
  18. Thank you for starting your live report of your cruise. Looking forward to your adventure.
  19. So happy to see a new live report from you My new cruise is not till June on Viking Ocean , so I enjoy reading live reports , and you are a star in my book with your wonderful reports. Look forward to Jeremy's reaction to the cruise.
  20. Are the ports in Poland and Germany industrial ports ? Does Viking run any shuttle to and from any ports for Scenic Scandinavia cruise ports? Sugarside .thanks for your information about doing two excursions while in the German port of call!!! I have decided not to go into Berlin for this port of call. So I will try to do do two excursions that day. Viking Jupiter is in port till 11:30 pm so plenty of time to do other things for the long day in June. Do any of the ports have a terminal where there are shops or tourist information booths with good street maps? Do buses for the excursions pull up close to ship or are long walks involved to get to the terminal building and waiting buses? All you cruisers which did this lovely itinerary are the experts for us in June 2023, for the only two sailings for Scenic Scandinavia. Any input will help me make decision about what excursions to do at each port, or just a DIY day to explore on one's own pace. Cheer! Patti
  21. In reading my guide book for Denmark, I came across an entry about Skt Hans Aftern June 23, longest evening celebrations. We will be in Copenhagen staying at SKTPetri hotel . Any suggestion suggestions about celebrating this longest evening of the year?
  22. the few times I was around for afternoon tea, Iovedeverything they offered. I loved the tea menu, lots of variety. yes it is quite filling but eat light for dinner or take a walk around the deck after teatime. I love this offering on Viking. My next cruise has no sea days so don't know if I will be able to fit it in. I do like if Wintergarden is full , they serve in EL. But Wintergreen is such a lovely space on the ship.
  23. Yes, each person knows what they are willing to pay for connivence and number of flights and layover times, they want. We booked flights for our Viking Cruise :Stockholm to Copenhagen in June 2023, last Sept with Delta KLM. Paid for it and have never looked back. Our flight from MSP AMS has changed by 5 minutes a couple of weeks ago....
  24. Thank you for taking all the time to write this trip report. I feel like I was traveling with you two on your wonderful vacation and Viking Cruise. I love reading trip reports especially about countries I have not visited. Your pictures are beautiful and really added to your report. 👏
  25. Oh ! My very first cruise was on the Celebrity Century. I was smitten at first sight , as our taxi dropped us off on a pier in Barcelona. Fell in love with cruising and the rest is history! The Century had the coolest Martini Bar, the ice chandelier that changed colors, the white rounded chairs and oh those Martini flights! Looking forward to hearing more aobut Explora, and the future Cheers!
